This is the best foot chase scene I have ever seen in film for many reasons and mostly from the talents of Director Peter Hyams and his crew who have made some memorable movies such as Capricorn One and Sudden Death. I also love the city of San Francisco especially as a movie backdrop. It has such distinctive cultural character much different than that of LA and SF has such an incredible depth of field and Director Hyams really captures that well especially in this scene where you have Chinatown obstacles of not only people and objects but also the steep streetscapes of SF like how he tracks the actors running towards the camera as they enter the alley from the street or sidewalk foot chasing, amazing dimension like you are there!
@@daleravic I was thinking the same thing. This one is very good, the most memorable scene in The Presidio, but Kathryn Bigelow and her team did amazing work with PB.
There is NO WAY that he was going to outrun Mark Harmon. Harmon is way too fast. I never knew he could run this fast! I know he played football and was a remarkable athlete!
Lots of great individual moments are peppered throughout this movie, but the narrative glue that's meant to hold it all together feels rushed and underwritten.
One of the greatest foot chase scenes ever

I concur but I have to say the foot chase between Swayze and Keenau in Point Break might top it.
Let’s not forget the amazing Steadicam op Randy Nolan!!!

That is the consensus.
You can't outrun Gibbs, he's wearing tube socks.
Harmon was probably thinking: 'I said a little.'.

1:59 too many cheeseburgers gibbs
If Gibbs had just used this thumb (his left thumb) to arrest the dude all this could have been avoided.
Be very careful of what you want-you may get it.
When I first saw this film back in the 90s when I was kid I thought he was Tom Cruise.
So much paperwork.
Omg, its gibbs i mean baby gibbs lol. he is so gorgeous
Abbs... whataya got?? 😅
I remember watching this movue when I was a kid in the 90s. I swear I thought he was Tom Cruise lol

It's such a perfectly mediocre film. I actually use it as my standard. The perfect 5 out of 10, in an absolute scale.
He won't do that again!
Very good movie
Tony really was a lot like Gibbs
Best scene in the movie! Bad guy gets hit by car and dies in the street ..... SWEET!
The Chinese restaurant looks like the same set as the bar in A Bronx Tale.
Wrong city
@@silverdrillpickle7596 Key word: "set."
I mean, he did play NCAA Football for UCLA as a QB for the Bruins before he was Gibbs just saying.
Whatever happened to the director. You don't hear much of him anymore.
Moviemakers back then and still today do not understand glas.
The female extra who comes out from behind the phone booth is too easily noticed. 🤔
What happen'd if it's Michael Weatherly is instead of Mark Harmon in this scene? I would love then DiNozzo is hit by Colonel Lawrence!
Alexandre Bertrand-Lafleur Ducky did say once that Gibbs was like DiNozzo at some point so we can assume this is what Dr Mallard was referring.
ncis prequel
