It’s 5400 dollars. At that price it better give me a happy ending too!
you can get many happy ending for way less like 8/20 dollars
But it will make its money back over the course of it's service
It's a professional tool with much more performance than your dad's soldering iron. That said the Chinese make very powerful hot air stations for 1/10 the price you just need to know where to shop for them. If you're a pro, perhaps you want the stability of a professional company like jbc vs endless Chinese models that keep changing and knockoffs of knockoffs that might not be dependable for 15+ years like you might expect in a business. I wouldn't buy it to support my hobby but I guess there is a place for everything
why its a metal stick with a spring 20 bucks and a 54 dollar hot air station thats quite a markup my god
@cursedfox4942 It has heat control, fan control, sensors as soon as you put it down it goes on standby mode so it will cool and as soon as you pick it up from the station it heats up super fast. A bunch of different attachemnt and unlimited replacemnt parts. A lifetime of warranty and support. We actually use JBC equipment in my Electronics and Communications certifacate training. They are so easy to work with.
wont u be ripping off all the pads from your pcb like this?
Nope, the tension must be very weak. Just enough to lift the IC not rip it off
@@Liace159 the statement is correct, but in old devices, PCB could be damaged because of leaked capacitors, and copper layer is easy to separate.
@@ShcherbynaM dont use it on old pcb. just this one drawback doesn't make it a bad product. this can save a lot of time at least in my case cz i dont work with old PCBs.
@@OnePunchHeizou do you change chips on new products very often? I've did this only once, because lightning burned out the network controller on my satelite dvr, and warranty doesn't covered it. I can imagine using this product for game console repairs, when you have a donor console and one that you need to repair, but if it will pull chip like a second chip in the video, it could do damage to PCB.
@@OnePunchHeizou also I didn't said that this is a bad product, just highlighted the problem that may appear

Please show us when using with BGA chip.
We had this, problem was that either the suction didn’t hold onto the chip, or it tore of pads. But using the station itself was a pleasure, very high quality stuff you guys make. And the metal heat shield was also very helpful
Thanks for your comment, although did you used the proper parameters?
Great tool, easy extraction, very convenient and less messy. Can't wait to have this in my lab.

I like that chip puller thing! Not only because it keeps the air from flowing other components but also that it seems to lift the chip without ripping any pads off. I still have nightmares of my first botched QFP repair. I assume it works via a vacuum pump?
Wondered also if vacuum pump or sprung loaded, looks like the former.

Seems like a lot of force on the chip, seeing as how high it pops off
If the leads don't bend, then it's definitely not a lot of force. Definitely less force than a human would apply by hand.
@@TheNefastor I wouldn't expect there to ever be enough force applied to bend all the leads, but they aren't heating all the leads up equally at once, there has to be a last lead and that would be the one that could bend and be damaged if the board itself isn't damaged
@@TMAJ0R actually the whole point of this funnel is to heat all the leads at once. There's also probably a heat plate under the board. This is how desoldering stations have always worked. I'm guessing you don't do board rework for a living ?
@@TheNefastorNo I don't do it for a living, but you don't need to do something for a living to understand the world isnt perfect and if you're putting force on something like that, while it's heating up and not after its been heated up you can damage it.
@@TheNefastor It'd also be nice if you wpuld actually watch the video because they clearly aren't using a hot plate and only using a heat gun, which just adds to my point :)
Tank you
Thanks for commenting!
Seems like there is risk of pulling a pad... if you work on one or a similar sized chip constantly this kind of makes sense, if not then i think youd rarely pull this out.
Hi UrTruth! The extractor has been designed in order to have strength enough to lift the component, but not enough to damage a pad. Since it has an accurate balance, the component will be just lifted up when all the solder pins are reflowed, guaranteeing a minimum mechanical and thermal stress.
The protector is used to avoid heating surrounding components, so different sizes will be need according to the component. If you consider no protection is needed, you can use just a tripod to desolder several different component sizes with just one tool.

¡Cierto! En JBC Soldering tools intentamos el proceso de soldadura manual mucho más fácil y a su vez obtener resultados de calidad.

Hi! We are catching up with our comments, but as any hand soldering/rework operation. The parameters (temperature of the Hot Air, ext TC Temperature, and Air Flow), should be adjusted to assure a good extraction without damaging the board. Also, our JTSE delivers a more uniform result if you compare with a manual desoldering technique resulting in a better quality and time saving.
We create tools to help reach optimization in quality and time, so ripping pads or damaging the board is not one of our goals.
Thanks for sharing your opinion with us!

Oooh wow
