The Barclays Hawaiian Airlines Credit Card gets you 70,000 miles after ONE in-store purchase anywhere, and paying the $99 annual fee in 3 months! There’s a special link, which is given to in-flight passengers, but anyone can do it! This is the laziest way to get SO MUCH VALUE!!!
I did this and flew first with the points to Kauai! It was a great experience! I’m not sure I will keep the card going forward though, it’s just not the best value beyond the bonus offer.
I wish Chase could revamp the World of Hyatt card, it’s a sleeper card with so much potential with Hyatt. It could give Hilton & Marriott a run for their money
Hey Sebby what do you think about the partnership with Bilt and Alaska, and how that factors into this merger? I’d be very curious about what you think about how you can use your Alaska airlines CC to pay rent trough Bilt to earn 3 miles/dollar of rent paid (albeit with a 3% fee). I’d be very curious about what you think about that versus just collecting the 1 point per dollar paying rent strictly through the Bilt CC.
🥃Not much left this fall, but looking forward to Taipei/Thailand early next year! (Sucks that CI award flights have gone down a lot...). As for Alaska and Hawaiian, haven't really tried those out yet, so probably no action other than maybe the Bilt, but if negative changes will keep happening then might be worth getting another card instead.. like the Cap1 Venture card before the offer ends!
Big Hawaiian Airlines fan, flying from Japan. Grabbed the Alaska card when they had an elevated offer but after the merger was announced because I have most of my assets in Merrill/BoA, and it is a BoA card. I'm actually hoping for my Alaska miles to be useful on Hawaiian (or whatever the combined airline becomes, though they swear up and down the identities of each airline won't be impacted... we shall see). I love even the old style open business class of Hawaiian because you feel like you're already enjoying like the hotel bar in Waikiki or something with the music, the uniforms, the mai tais, the food, etc. I just hope I get to experience the new business class from Japan the Hawai'i soon. 🥃
🥃If you're ever in Phoenix to try the new Sapphire lounge, happy to host a whiskey meetup, I've collected about 20+ whiskeys, which I don't drink much since having kids. You're totally welcome to try, it's the least I can offer for all the valuable points knowledge 😎
Welcome back...I just got from Japan too. Also stopped by the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia and Korea then back to California Is Dragonpass Asia-centric? Ive had more success with it in SE Asia
🥃 1. No heavy travel planned for the fall, getting married so nothing besides MIA, SEA and LAS. Next year though..... 2. I'm hesitant to use a 5/24 slot for the Hawaiian card or to transfer over points even with the bonus that ends this week from AMEX. I figure if I need AS points, I can transfer over some BILT points from either rent spend or spending at Walgreens...
🥃 would love a whiskey meet up! Sounds excellent. Appreciate all the insight. Not really sure how to play the Alaska situation but we will see what happens. Would love to visit Japan so might see if the wife is interested in that for our next trip.
🥃 I'm hoping😮 to travel to Seoul, South Korea, this fall, if not next year. Definitely on my bucket list after my next Japan trip. I hope the Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines merger keeps things simple and doesn't negatively impact their rewards program.
🥃I think I'm going to transfer some of my Amex points to Hawaiian in hopes they become Alaska. I'm just a little nervous I might get stuck with the Hawaiian Miles with not much use case outside of going to Hawaii.
🥃 Barclay's currently has a Hawaiian Business card with 70k bonus just posted on doctor of credit if someone wants to roll the dice and hope it transfers to Alaska 1:1. I might get that then get the Ink Preferred in Jan-Apr so I can hit the minimum spend overpaying my taxes.
@@AskSebbywhen I book international United flights I find it cheaper to book economy with cash then upgrade to Polaris with points cash combo. I ended up getting MNL -> SFO for $1035 + 30,000 points for Polaris. I looked at seats.aero and didn’t find anything using just points for a better deal. Am I potentially missing something?
Im already working the Alaska/Hawaiian strategy. There is no downside to getting the cards as potential future Alaska miles. Sign up bonus on the business version coincidentally went up today.
I'd be more cautious. It's a 5/24 spot, of course, but what gnaws at me is the unrealized hope that Hawaiian will transfer 1:1 to Alaska, nevermind that merger won't clear for a year or more. That's a year for Alaska to devalue while your points are tied up waiting.
@@AskSebby Thanks. I have one more question. I already have Chase Ink Cash (CL: $10K) and Chase Ink Unlimited (CL: $6K). Do you think I should ask Chase to lower the credit line for existing accounts (maybe, CIC to $5K) to increase the chance of approval? I make $40K from this business and total income is about $300K a year.
Tokyo, no. Kyoto, no. Osaka, no. Outside of that, it becomes harder. All signage is in English though, and translation software is much better than it used to be.
What do you think of transferring MR points to Hawaiian with the current bonus? Being West Coast, we go to Hawaii every couple of years. I'm thinking best case, the miles turn to Alaska and the bonus received helps assuage any possible point devalue with the mileage merger of both programs. Worst case the merger doesn't happen and I just use the miles with Hawaiian for awards booking of future flights. Or is there a real risk of Hawaiian bankruptcy and loss of points if the merger doesn't materialize? 🥃
Why nobody tells us how to meet the min spending requirements for some1 live by the paycheck barely pay the food and rent. Are these cards meant for some1 has decent income?

This is the one i got.

All I see are $2k spending in 3 months. Do you have the link?

When and where?

Bonnus at 10:32 is a good idea 👍
🥃 I’d be down for a meet up, I’m in SF already.
I hope Alaska and Hawaiian will be one so that we have more option to travel.
Just checked for SFO to TYO in July on United's website. There are business seats for 110k miles on certain days. On all other days, it's 250k!

With Hawaiian Air already being a transfer partner with Amex, do we think Alaska will become a transfer partner to Amex after the merger is done?
What miles do we need for the japan trips? It says velocity and I'm not sure how to get those points.
The Alaska credit card by itself was tempting us, but with Hawaiian options lumped in it may just be our next card to collect.
🥃 Japan, Taipei, & Bangkok. Definitely need to grab some Whiskey in Japan next visit.

How do we participate in this whiskey tasting event?
Are the ANA flights you mentioned the room/suite though? When i reference the ANA website a lot of those flights are not the new product

Great video! Question, when would be the optimum time to downgrade the INK Business Preferred to the INK Cash if I no longer wanted to keep it?
After 1 year.
I don’t really like 🥃 but excited to hear more about the Park Hyatt. Currently trying to plan for a Niseiko ski trip though.
I will fly out to SF next week for a whiskey tasting if it's Tuesday/Wednesday!
Great video,
10 days in Japan is a challenge
Cheers
Meh... Try 16 years. :D I showed up and just... didn't leave!

Definitely up for whisky tasting with the credit card master in SF! 🥃
🥃 I like a good whiskey. If it can translate, what are the names of the whiskeys you bought? Thanks Sebby!
🥃I picked up a Nikka 21 year last in January from Tokyo!

I have all the Chase Business Cards. I don’t use them. Can I cancel and reopen with promo bonus?
Yes you can. You should cancel them to improve your chance of being approved
here for the whiskey tasting!

🥃 down for a whiskey meetup! Maybe Vegas again?
Love the Yamazaki! 🥃
🥃 Just booked ORD-HND in F for next July!
across the bay in Oakland, would be down for the whiskey 🥃
nice yamazaki and spring forest; did you also get the 100th Hibiki Blend ??
Yes, got 2 🥃
Does ANA have these promos in flight time to time? Seems very unique. 100th blend looks great.
Do u know what the offer might be after Sept. 5?
Probably the regular 75k or 90k offer.
Hi Sebby. I saw Mandy from her trip from NRT to SFO at baggage pickup. I said hello! Too bad I didn't get to see you and say hello as well.
Nice! We weren't on the same flight this time.

I wish ANA flew first class out of Seattle =( I've taken their old style business class out of Seattle and it's very lackluster.
Nice 🥂
1. Tokyo 🥃
2. I transferred all my MR points to Hawaiian with the 20% boost.
100th LIKE!!!🍼
sorry🥃🥃🥃.
Awesome info. Maestro Sebby
🎉
134k for just one ANA firstclass? I booked two tickets back in Feb '23 from JFK-HND for 60k VS points each! Glad I got in when I did
