I agree with you on the not bitching part, when i encounter hikers on the trail i don't freak out at all but i still tell them that is a mtb trail (which i think is not disrespectful at all, they are marked that way where i live) because especially on steep terrains it would very diffucult to stop for the biker

Strava Queen.... I too have this problem on DH or flow sections of trail, but lets all enjoy the trails together. BUT, HIKERS pay attention! don't walk with head phones in or on your phone, you're in the woods /on the trails enjoy it! If that bike was a bear, you would be lunch! Pay the F attention to sounds and movement around you! Read the signs, if it's a BIKE trail stay off it! We have horse trails (only) here some places, and they flip out if they see a runner or biker on that part of the trail. It's unbelievable, can't hide money I guess, lol or snobishness. (may not be a word) Multiuse trails, Do your part!
Wait are you annoyed that the horseback riders get mad at bikers and walkers/runners on a horse only trail? It is for safety only, some horses would get spooked at a runner/walker and definitely at a biker scooting by at high speed. Just because they own a horse does not make them a snob anymore than someone on a $3,000 mountain bike is a snob. If a trail is marked one use only it should be one use only.
Actually I feel it was justified, the hiker had a dog and if the biker turned a corner and ran his dog over it would be 100% the hikers fault and the poor dog does not deserve that, so sometimes you need to yell at people for them to understand , otherwise they will keep doing it
Your pathetic passiveness is *exactly* why this happens. Every single person needs to tell them to get the fuck off of the designated mountain biking trail the second they see them
Your a Hypocrite to then go on the Road with your 80cm wide handlebars LMAO Yeah get a Bell/Horn and use it, yelling is not as effective. As for Hikers, practice Drop'n'Roll to get out of the way, and Always Go High/Left so everyone can be safer. I was hiking last week and a MTB came up from behind, i dropped-left, no problem at all, my wife had no idea, more or less wasting time turning and even wandering mid-track to make herself more of a obstacle and hinderance Lets everyone EDUCATE SAFETY & AWARENESS instead. As a MTBer myself, I love seeing hikers enjoy the trails I ride, and vice versa. Its all very similar to Rally Driving and its spectators. In the future, spectators will be a thing, so enjoy it guys.
Remember ladies, it is not a closed race circuit, there will be animals, humans and children, what you call an MTB trail is just a TRAIL for all to use unless specified as a Closed race circuit.
This is why they invented bells and loud hubs. Yeah its annoying running into hikers especially if it causes an injury to either party, but its all apart of it. Just calls for re-run not like we are all world EWS or UCI World Cup Downhill Riders. No Strava KOM is gonna make my day better. I mean its cool but the MTB trails are not going anywhere. This is supposed to be fun. Least that's why I ride.
You should of greeted hikers in a polite manner and be mindful of potential dangers on trail. You’re not the only rider out on trail. I have filed a complaint in your jurisdiction on behalf of hikers.
Hikers shouldn't be on a mountain bike trail in the first place. Hopefully you filled another complaint about hikers potentially causing fatal accidents.
Don't just JC or 'watch out' to them. That won't help them know to get off the track. That just makes them more entrenched that bikers are arsholes. TELL THEM IT'S AN MTB TRACK. Don't care what tone of voice you use, but TELL THEM.
You’re pretty serious about it. Maybe run a bell and they’ll be out of the way. I get they’re not supposed to be there to begin with but obviously not the first time you’ve dealt with it.
I'm a mountain biker and a hiker. Hikers should not be on what is clearly a purpose built MTB trail, just as there are many trails where I live (PNW in the US) which have signs expressly forbidding bikes. I respect those signs and stay off the trails, even though they would be really fun to ride. Quid pro quo. By the same token, I think bikers are at the bottom of the pile when it comes to conflicts like this. If there was an accident, the biker would be seen as the offending party, even if the hiker shouldn't have been there. Also, we are all ambassadors for mountain biking, and you could, and should, have handled that much, much better. The rage and profanity is inexcusable.
Why so angry. I’m sure they didn’t purposefully decide to ruin your fun. They may have made a mistake or they may have not. Even so you do not have to be rude or disrespectful to people. Yes it’s annoying but I’m sure you cussing and being a nob won’t help it.
Try 4 hikers and a dog on a mountain biking ONLY trail, sorry but it would piss me off too. Would you prefer a mountain biker on a hiking only trail...would that miff you?
Not excusing all the effing and jeffing at hikers on an MTB trail but lets face it if a mountain biker was found on a footpath the cursing from hikers would just be as bad if not worse.
Remember when you actually ride on the road, a lot of drivers might screaming at you inside their car too .... "what is this mtbker doing on the road"?.... Chill man we all love MTB.
remember: the road is for cars AND for bikes, mountain bike trails are for mountain bikes. If you'd ride a horse on a highway, pretty sure you'd get same reactions too.
Come on man, this kind of attitude is what gets trails closed and turns people against cyclists and mountain bikers. As a mtb’er i can say that your attitude, language and behavior really sucks. I occasionally do see hikers on what are mtb trails and slow down and just gently remind them to be careful since people like you might be coming down and they could get injured.
Nothing worse than hikers Messing up your lines! I wish that there would be like a park ranger that would hand out citations or tickets to hikers for being on the Mtb trails.. because I bet you if it was the other way around, us mountain bikers would definitely get a damn ticket!
Everyone is just trying to enjoy themselves out there. I don't think this sort of aggressive attitude and riding towards hikers helps anyone. Some of them may be new at the whole thing, at the end of the day if you don't at least slow down when they're around someone can get hurt and what good does that do anybody? Yeah hikers that go on MTB main trails are annoying, but whatever, at the end of the day we don't own the mountain.
@@calser1233 You may not be familiar with GoPro effect. That was a plenty gnarly trail with significant rocks. I know, why not post your ride video with demonstration of your effortless technique and superior skills, so that all of us lesser mortals can watch and learn.
Take a look at the orangish sign at the beginning of the trail (at the 0:15 time mark). It's first in Chinese, then in English. (Where is this?) It points to a feature 1 kilometer away and says it will take 1/2 hour to get there. Get there how? It doesn't take 1/2 hour to go 1 kilometer (0.6 miles) on a mountain bike. That sign must be referring to hiking time for hikers who walk leisurely. That means this ISN'T a mountain-bike-only trail. The hikers on it thus had a right to be there.

surprised he didnt let the dog chase after you...they only call the dog back after its been a prick...and always quick to lecture you about how YOU need to avoid their dog....note how he bravely shouts at you as you go by...I wonder how he would have felt if you ran the dog over...no doubt told you how its all your fault
No need to be so aggressive....
Initially I felt for the biker, being a biker myself. But after a while, I realise that he's a self entitled fellow.
Back home, we too encounter hikers on the MTB trails. Yeah, we get upset at that point coz it was dangerous for both parties, but we soon get absorbed in the joy of riding again and not go on and on about the hikers.
This dude has sick skills. And an attitude to match. 😂
And there is a hiking trail just next to the mtb trail!!! They just not using it.
He's not entitled, these fools should NOT be on a mountain biking ONLY trail...I would fear for my life if I was a hiker on a mountain biking trail, these guys go fast and sometimes don't see the danger quite in time. It's also polite to stay off trails that are one use only when you are not that one use.

Rreading through the coments there are 2 types of people the people that are on the hikers dont belong on trails and the be more considerate. i also look at this situation in 2 ways first: of course it is annoying when there are hikers on the trail but the hikers also think the same of you. 2: i think it is ok as long it isnt in a bike park. from my experience i only had one bad encounter with a hiker pretty much it was a LIFT ACCES DOWNHILL PARK there were signs everywhere also saying it was a bike only trail but dog walkers and hikers still came up it.
Hikers.... Hate them tbh

we need hikers like you! You've done a good job.
@@justridemtbofficial9483 thanks. Just makes sense to me. I'll have to check out more of your vids to pick up some perspective and tips for becoming more advanced and motivated with biking 👍
What country is this?? China? and if so what region?
its Hong Kong
(may not be a word)
Multiuse trails, Do your part!
Yeah...it is stupid to have hikers on MTB trails. You know what's even stupider? A MTB rider on public roads.
don't you know that bike riders are same traffic participants just like car drivers? Strangely you can't see any hikers in the middle of public road..
We have all sorts of bikers riding on roads in our neck of the woods. Bikes on roads are not illegal.
The heck are these people's. No.common sense.
I get why youre upset but you dont need to start cusing people out
Actually I feel it was justified, the hiker had a dog and if the biker turned a corner and ran his dog over it would be 100% the hikers fault and the poor dog does not deserve that, so sometimes you need to yell at people for them to understand , otherwise they will keep doing it
Thing is ..is it a mountain bike trail or a woods where people can walk also? Then he goes on a road meant for cars😂 just saying
it is a mountain bike trail
He says “Watch out”. Not excuse me or thank you or on your right. Sad and I’m a mountain biker long time.
You need to allow it mate.
Swearing at them isn’t the way to deal about it.
Slow down, say thanks and politely let them know it’s a mtb trail.
Your pathetic passiveness is *exactly* why this happens. Every single person needs to tell them to get the fuck off of the designated mountain biking trail the second they see them
this tilts me so much
Your a Hypocrite to then go on the Road with your 80cm wide handlebars LMAO
Yeah get a Bell/Horn and use it, yelling is not as effective.
As for Hikers, practice Drop'n'Roll to get out of the way, and Always Go High/Left so everyone can be safer. I was hiking last week and a MTB came up from behind, i dropped-left, no problem at all, my wife had no idea, more or less wasting time turning and even wandering mid-track to make herself more of a obstacle and hinderance
Lets everyone EDUCATE SAFETY & AWARENESS instead.
An air horn would help tremendously....
Sadly just an occupational hazard of mtb...😏
That’s not in the U.S.. England?
Hong Kong mate
😂😅😂😂🤭🤣🤣🤣🤣
oh well, hikers...
not your fault
You should of greeted hikers in a polite manner and be mindful of potential dangers on trail. You’re not the only rider out on trail. I have filed a complaint in your jurisdiction on behalf of hikers.
Hikers shouldn't be on a mountain bike trail in the first place. Hopefully you filled another complaint about hikers potentially causing fatal accidents.
🤦🏻♀️ Those people were on a mountain biking only trail KAREN!!
Temper of a child
Share the trails on hikers
Why so angry. I’m sure they didn’t purposefully decide to ruin your fun. They may have made a mistake or they may have not. Even so you do not have to be rude or disrespectful to people. Yes it’s annoying but I’m sure you cussing and being a nob won’t help it.
Apparently he's still going on like an old woman about the one hiker in his way thar day

Remember when you actually ride on the road, a lot of drivers might screaming at you inside their car too .... "what is this mtbker doing on the road"?.... Chill man we all love MTB.
remember: the road is for cars AND for bikes, mountain bike trails are for mountain bikes. If you'd ride a horse on a highway, pretty sure you'd get same reactions too.
exactly, well said.
These two hikers are diving into the bush. xD
You could always pick a better day or time to avoid hikers too... Not *ALWAYS* practical, but often works.
