This was just too cool! I'm in Brouwersdam at the moment, and planning on maybe going somewhere to Denmark after his with my caravan. Heard the name Hvide Sande before, but now this video came out! Looks like a great spot, and it's kinda on my way home to Finland 😁 Thanks for a great review!
When renting a house in for example Bjerregard, south of Hvide Sande, you can also opt for Bork Havn as a windsurf/kitespot in case of westwind. Bjerregard has its own supermarket. North Sea of course also close by, but hardly any surfing activity here. And the other side of the road at Bjerregard you got a camping site as well where you bring your surfgear up to and surf on Ringkobing Fjord.
Perhaps the best windsurf sport in Denmark. Perfect for flat water windsurfing in the fjord or wave surfing in the North sea. If You come here for a week or so, there is a hotel in Hvide Sande and apartmentments for rent, however You get a much better choice and variety if You go 10 miles to the north to Søndervig!.
that is nice..... and is different from Long Island, NY. we have good condition...but most of our launch site are shitty....run down, no facilities or run down facilities, rigging area if there is one...is crappy.. and most places are not that inviting or welcoming for any watersports. you feel like you need to rig up quickly and hit the water before someone tries to kick you out.
I am from Slovenia and we were usually going to Croatia for summer vacation. We usually het 10-20kts on average but in the last couple of years the temps picked up a lot and we get 35-40 degrees regularly 😢 How is the wind in Hvide Sande in the summer time? I might be interested in changing the destination for the hottest months 😅
You never know what u can get If u are lucky you get 3 weeks with wind plus thermal winds. But normally we haven’t got a lot of weeks without wind. The last couple of summers were quite windy.
It’s windy also during summer. Either from SW, W or NW. Maybe a couple of days without wind just for the front to change to SE, E. We’ve lived in Slovenia and went to Croatia so with proper light wind gear you will always be on water here.
If someone needs local info then they are welcome to get in touch. We are focusing on wingfoil, Kitefoil and kitesurfing classes in Hvide Sande, Blåvand and Esbjerg.
What’s the water temperature like there? I see people in suits, which isn’t a big deal as there’s lots of pretty cold water sailing here in Ontario Canada as well but it’s nicer if the water is warm 😉
Basically it's good all year long, but certainly between November and April it's not a place for the faint-hearted. Best time to travel there is usually between May and October.
Thanks for the nice report!
I learned windsurfing in 1998 at the south station. And now I’m living here because it is the best place I have ever seen.
Cool spot! More windsurfing travel guides please!
Been there for more than ten years just for holiday and learned to windsurf there just last year. It is a great place.
My favorite wave spot in NW winds, not bothered much about the fjord :)
That looks epic 🎉

Moin Ben, what a „cool“ spot to go windsurfing
Where can we grabe a nice cap like yours, mate?
Sort of Hayling Island with better coffee....

At the moment we have round about 12 degrees Celsius but in the summer round about 20-22 degree’s Celsius you can go in a shorty
Which months are the windiest ?

If somebody is planning to go next year, please reply. I want to come along
On my list for sure!
@uuinn1310 Amazing! Are you open to going together?
One of the best windsurfing spot on Denmark. The best spot is still Eisingholm/Eising strand ❤❤❤
Out of curiosity, why is Eisingholm/Eising better?
@@yannldn2321 the water is flat 4-5 km. About 1 meter deep. And if you like Oyesters, so here are free to pick up from the water:-)
@@michelletran7852 nice thanks. I need to go to Denmark next year with the kids. 1m deep water is really a big advantage for learning
@@yannldn2321 Welcome to Denmark.
Easily not, because there is no waves :)
It looks cold gloomy and muddy.
You have a glass half empty perspective on life - no doubt.
