Chris spends too much time taking care of everyone else and leaves little time for himself. He has great character and takes responsibility instead of immediately blaming someone else.
@@LiteBriteI think it’s somehow contagious. The next day my wheel spacer came apart on that wrecker. Been running them for almost 2 years without an issue. Haha
You were very fortunate that this happened at a relatively low speed. Out come could/would have been much worse at freeway speeds. Glad everything is fixed and everyone is ok.
0 > 22 Thank you for all the many sacrifices, big and small, veterans. Please reach out to the vets in your life. It is a difficult season and sometimes a simple phone call can remind people that they are not alone. Happy Thanksgiving. 🙂
98th! Vacation in the middle of retirement? Who knew! Poor Chris - glad he has so many close friends, close by! I really admire all Chris is and capable of; much more than just a "mechanic". Making me think twice about using spacers. Gives new meaning to "Getting Torqued Off"! LIteBriteNationPhebsPheonix!
Chris I’m right there with you. I put SO much effort into what I do for others that I usually miss or rush my own stuff. 👊🏼 you’re still top notch in my opinion.
Happy Thanksgiving Lite Brite Nation. It happens to the best of us Chris. No one got hurt and your home safe to talk about it. Keep up the awesome videos Brittany and Kevin. More peanut and jelly please Brittany
I had the lug bolts on my 2000 Jetta break on a front wheel going down the interstate. Luckily no major damage and no car crash. The tow truck driver was surprised I survived it (pulled my car to the shoulder).
Yes I love off-roading 1000%. But with your guy's personalitys I would love to hang out a have a few drinks. Really seems like it would be an awsome time...
Yea just a little bit of negligence. Happens to all of us. Nobody is perfect. No big deal. Glad it’s all fixed! I had spacers for a long time and had no issues. Just check them often and you’ll be alright. Glad to see your good to go and look forward to the next adventure!
Good on Chris, a true troubleshooter, wants to find the root of the problem and not shift fault to a false place. Well done, we all can learn from this...and check nuts and bolts sooner than later. Happy Thanksgiving.
I believe you are right. The Allen bolts just backed out together. Surprised you couldn’t feel it wobble before it fell off though. Maybe you did, and that part didn’t make the video. Torquing bolts into aluminum wheels, beadlocks, spacers is a chore. Always coming loose. I used to run lock tight on wheel spacers and periodically, maybe once a year take them apart and reloctite and torque them. The aluminum threads deform over time, and let’s the bolts just back out.
ive lost a wheel in the same situation, and since have carried a torque wrench for accurate install torque, thats a hairy deal when the vehicle drops to the axle to ground level, how lucky can you get having B.O.R.R. right there, good job guys!!!
We had a guy in a Jeep with 3" spacers loose a wheel coming down Chinamans Gulch a few years ago. His tire and wheel literally rolled past him then the axle dropped. He had threaded axles and would run bolts in from the back of the axle for the spacer. He broke the bolts on the axle side. His wife walked back to the truck and drove into Buena Vista to parts store to get replacement bolts then back on trail to replace said bolts on axle. Stupid thing is he just had this axle custom made but kept it 3" narrow on each side to run the spacers.
In my experience of DIY rotating tires on my gladiator (first time I rotated myself)... what I thought was "good and snug" was nowhere near the actual torque specification for wheel nuts. Like 50% off. I invested into a torque meter and that is how I got to find out.
Glad everyone is fine. I had a similar incident in college where my e-brake was frozen stuck in the morning. Quickly took the rear driver side tire off and pounded on the drum to get the e-brake to release. I was on my way to a final, and didn’t fully tighten the lug nuts. Was just getting onto the freeway and that wheel came off, bounced over my windshield and into a field. I lost control of the car, swerved across all 4 lanes and ended up in the ditch on the side of the road. Luckily no one else was involved,,, Like you said,,, ‘Remember to torque your nuts’,,,,, grin
As it is often said, "The Devil is in the detail". All too often if I rush a project, I will forget something that was sooo minor...and then realize how important it really is....like putting 4 plugwires in bank of a V-8. Ran great as long as he kept his foot on the gas.
Is it just me failing to recollect a previous video or is it me and my premonitions....... Damn i seen this episode months before, from the navigator to Phoebe breaking a wheel off to the wrecker picking Phoebe up from the rear to the Tyre placed below to the scratches on the decking from the rotor...... Woah...... Deja vu...... I know I get them but never did I ever think of getting one of a UA-cam channel from across the world 🤯🤯🤯
Sorry to see that Chris, We had the same issue in the Richtersveld Transfrontier National Park, a desert terrain (very remote), on the south africa and namiba border. In our case the wheel cam e off a land rover defender and overtook the defender🤣Also a case of the bolts in the space not being loctite, and the spacer separated from the hub. The timing was fortunate as an hour before we were descending the Vandersterrberg mountain. If they had come loose then it could have potentially been fatal. We were able to remove the wheel from the spacer and the reattached it to the hub and could continue on our overland expedition. So a word of caution, check the bold holding the space to the hub as well as the wheel nuts holding the wheel to the spacer
Glad you're okay and this didn't happen at speed. I don't know what brand of hardware you are using but I would use American made aircraft rated grade 8 or 12 in suspension or anyplace safety related. It looked like with the lighting one or two pulled some thread material.
I just saw you out on trail in an area that there was NO phone service last weekend. Glad it didn't happen out there! I actually worried for ya and thought that you were heading out late and alone..
So glad you guy's are Safe, Wow that could have been so much worse than it was 🤔🤔🤔 That right there is why Spacing blocks are illegal in the land down under.. Stay safe love from The Land Down Under 😘 😘
I lost my driver rear about a year ago going 80mph. Sheered the studs right off. Everyone and Jeep are ok, just some 3 wheelin’ for a few hundred yards.
Hello, Friends. I am being coerced into posting this. So please remember this isn't what I said. The Old Goat would like to point out that if it was a Liberty, the wheel most likely wouldn't have fallen off. Please understand that if I didn't post the Goat's ridiculous comment, he threatened to shed his transfer case the next time we were 40 miles from home. At 13,000 ft MSL. For me, miss you guys so very much and hope to wheel with you again soon. Karl and The Old Goat
Wouldn’t it make more sense to use a super long ARP stud like they use in drag racing for the rear slicks that goes all the way through the hub through the spacers and into the wheels so that you only have one connection point instead of multiple tightening points?😮
Anything with countersunk fasteners MUST be tightened from the NUT side for max torque. You will never get it tight from the "head" side....EVER. The coefficient of friction driving the taper in will stop that sided from turning LONG before it is "torqued". It must be tightened by the nut end.
Didn't something happen zackly like this to oneA Chris's vehicles about 22 videos ago.... even the putting the tire under the vehicle to better it's sit on the trailer? I even double checked this videos upload time cauz I thought I was watching an older video. Maybe I just envisioned it 🔮.. if so I got lottery numbers to focus on ✨️ Thank you ALL for the Adventures! And remember: 'Attitude is the difference between an ordeal and an Adventure' 💫💪😘

Glad we were down there for trail hero and could help out! Have a great Thanksgiving! 🦃🥧
We definitely appreciated the help! Happy Thanksgiving to y’all too!

you guys are awesome!

Ah the off roading community...helping each other out when someone needs it...nice to see.
Red locktite those bolts on all wheel spacer adapters 😊
Chris's priorities are in order: 1. Coffee first! 2. Fix the things!
Such a humble dude. We need more Chris's in this world!
Chris I’m right there with you. I put SO much effort into what I do for others that I usually miss or rush my own stuff. 👊🏼 you’re still top notch in my opinion.
Chris is the best!
Yes I've been wanting this type of video, thanks lite brite!
Living your best lives! Happy Thanksgiving!
Love out to Chris!
Just bad luck Chris. Lesson learned. Happy Trails to all at LBN.
Thanks for showing a real world example of why double checking things is important! Happy thanksgiving to all!
Stove top faux espresso for the win. Seriously my favorite coffee maker
Time to call in more and fabrats to recue Chris
Happy Thanksgiving Lite Brite Nation. It happens to the best of us Chris. No one got hurt and your home safe to talk about it. Keep up the awesome videos Brittany and Kevin. More peanut and jelly please Brittany
Much respect for you Chris admitting fault even though you did what most people would do.
I’ve seen spacer studs snap. But never have a ever seen spacers studs like just come out the threads. Wild. Loctite them bad boys folks!
Great to see Chris again in the shop. Always very informative. Happy Thanksgiving to the Lite Bight family.

I hope you guys had a Happy Thanksgiving 🦃 Glad you got Chris!! ❤❤💯🤙
Good job Chris

Right after watching this vid… Me + torque wrench checking all nuts! Thanks !

Need the lite brite wheels on that rover 🔥

this is why wheel spacers make me nervous. i've ran them, but it was always in the back of my mind.

It's all fun and games until someone loses a wheel CHRIS!!!!! Somehow I think he knows how to fix it. 👍

Trail "breaker", definitely did break something! 😂🤣
Pssshhh.....unreal willy! 🤦🏼♂️😅

We posted it on Instagram a while back, so you may not be crazy. 😅

Loose nut behind the wheel kinda deal. Often heard of this. 😂
A 2 piece wheel spacer ? Thats new to me.
Glad you're okay and this didn't happen at speed.

Look at the "Brite" side,, content!! 👍
I just saw you out on trail in an area that there was NO phone service last weekend. Glad it didn't happen out there! I actually worried for ya and thought that you were heading out late and alone..
Chris's old Discovery needs a set of 404 Unimog axles to upstage the Jeep of Kevin and brit
So glad you guy's are Safe, Wow that could have been so much worse than it was 🤔🤔🤔
That right there is why Spacing blocks are illegal in the land down under.. Stay safe love from The Land Down Under 😘 😘
I think they should be outlawed here in the USA also.
As long as you buy quality ones, there’s nothing wrong with them - so long as you nut & bolt check them like anything else on your rig.

Maybe a little loctite on the wheel adapter bolts?
Isn't this like recovery number 2 for Pheb's? Chris will get her back together!
Ouch to Chris, waiting for an update on my grandpa’s Jeep, which sadly is having to be fixed right now. 😢
Oh God...... Adopt a Rover.... For only $1.99 cents.. you too can adopt a Rover.
Last song I needed to hear. Thanks!
Can forgive him for not checking his log nuts. But the training wheels in his coffee
Phoebe’s is acting more like Ursula….😂😂😂😂
Been there done that. Maybe it’s a Marine thing, semper fi buddy.
Great job on getting it fixed. Kevin acted like he was pissed. Oh well You guys have an awesome Thanksgiving and as always we love the content. ❤
We weren’t mad at all. 🙂
Calling Chris your mechanic is kinda calling a rocket engineer a math teacher.
Hey, I spotted an OBS Bronco in the shop
That’s why you have to be careful, otherwise you’ll end up possibly making things that much harder!
Shite bolts? Chris isnt that bad of a wrench monkey.. I would trust him!
Wouldn’t it make more sense to use a super long ARP stud like they use in drag racing for the rear slicks that goes all the way through the hub through the spacers and into the wheels so that you only have one connection point instead of multiple tightening points?😮
Get Chris new axles for Christmas he deserves them, and better pay.
We gave him $10K for new axles. 🙂
At least you owned up to your mistake!
Hey, LBN+ community. Let Chris build his Rover on the channel.... Do it.
He’s been encouraged to do so for years. 😊
No, I'm not coffee.🎉🎉🎉
Typically, when you change your oil you should rotate your tires. This way you will torque your tires properly.
Anything with countersunk fasteners MUST be tightened from the NUT side for max torque. You will never get it tight from the "head" side....EVER. The coefficient of friction driving the taper in will stop that sided from turning LONG before it is "torqued". It must be tightened by the nut end.
Oh no Chris is human..Cyborg Mechanic myth dispelled finally. Lmao
Chris..time to say goodbye to the Disco just let it go.😂😂😂
Better call MATT's offroad recovery or trailmater for some help puutting that on the trailer
Good excuse to upgrade to tracks on the Rover......
lack of red locktite would seem to be the issue
Make sure to use red loctite chris
That's exactly why you dont use wheel spacers on vehicle
adding this to the reasons I hate wheel spacers
Love your top Brit.. where did you get it?
Poor Chris!
I sure hope that you get a good break on Feebs Chris.
hmm.. crazy.. first time I have seen that happen..
I mean Chris could of called me and I would of came and got him so you guys could of hung out 😅
Shit happens😂
Have yall been to pigeon forge before
S'Gonna pop th' bead. Beed?
1 tons under the range Rover coming up quick
The cobbler with no shoes. Chris's just need to give up the ghost on that Disco. Get a Tundra or JK V8 conversion😁
Loctite perhaps?
Didn't something happen zackly like this to oneA Chris's vehicles about 22 videos ago.... even the putting the tire under the vehicle to better it's sit on the trailer? Deez nuts 😅 Got em
It is all fun until you get that call.
Hey Chris, you can't park there!
👍❤️ #Jellynation
Let's be very clear, this was NOT a Land Rover problem. D2's get enough grief as it is. ;)
It's all fun an games till someone loses their nuts!!!
There’s nothing worse than loose nuts
Chris even the best have bad days we’re all human just have to learn from that’s it
