It's tricky. As much as I don't stand with Aaron's beliefs, he did bring a lot of newer gen into skateboarding, myself included. It's unfortunate that it's ending like this but it wasn't all bad. I'm not saying I condone Kyro's actions but the amount of work that went into bringing skateboarding to all ages and skill levels cannot be forgotten. Especially all of the hard work put out by the rest of the crew.
They do care that he has a multi-million subscriber youtube channel tho. I wouldn't be surprised if he started shilling scientology shit on the braille channel.
One thing I've learned from this was if a middle aged man says he's "taking business classes" he's lying about something. A couple of years ago my old man said he had enrolled in some business classes but turns out he was just cheating on my mom.

Timing is crazy. I just left a comment on braille's channel about how upset I was that they threw those boards away in the dumpster. A lot of that material was expensive and some of it was rare. It would hurt a lot less if they allowed nearby kids to grab one or more to hang up in their room to give back. I understand that they didn't have time, but I'm sure they could have put that stuff in a storage until they could properly give it away. That stuff is what made the channel to me. I came in while they were at the park skating glass and plexiplastics, and learned about new materials and creative ideas. It seemed to be an emotional fit on the behalf of the owner and didn't consider anyone's feelings. I think most people wouldn't be bothered by the warehouse issue if it wasn't done the way it was done. A lot of people would probably get excited that they are starting over but nobody feels good after hearing 3/4 a million dollars being tossed to abstract concepts when you had young guys who invested their tender years into making you somebody.
AK said they didn't have time, like skaters wouldn't have immediately rocked up to take and repurpose everything within the first day of announcing it. Prob would have saved braille bunch of man power trashing everything too. Pathetic.

I haven’t been in tune with the world of skateboarding for about 6 years, I remember getting all my info from braille i remember how much of an impact it had on me wanting to better myself in skating. I remember how much I wanted to join braille but now good lord Aaron has gone off the deep end.

i'm so surprised they still have the comments on. when i got back into skating i was in a bad place and having those braille dudes to watch was super valuable. it's super sad. I'm excited for them at the same time tho because i know they'll be better off skating for companies that aren't scams.

It's heartbreaking thinking about the sheer mass of people such as myself that have to admit how pivotal Braille was in our journey to learn how to skate. It feels like finding out one of your favorite elementary school teachers turned out to be a cannibal or something.
I'm not even a skater and seeing that Bear Walker board in the trash pile makes me wanna cry. If a talented custom maker in one of my hobbies gave me a gift like that, I'd value it more than my house.

Its honestly so sad to see, when i got back into skating, it was during brailles glory days, and i watched all the "how to do x trick" videos.
I just hope JD is doing alright throughout all of this, and that he'll continue going strong with his skateboarding career... and hopefully hasn't had his mind polluted with the Scientology nonsense.
