I’m 2 weeks in and have close to 400 subscribers. I post daily. I try to use a thought provoking title I try to make the thumbnail look interesting. I reply back to as many comments as I can. I watch content like this to educate myself more. I pray and ask God to lead the way for me. If you are still reading this…KEEP GOING!! 🎉
I can see just from your comment here that you have so much drive and passion with what you're doing it, keep it up. What are your goals for your channel?
@@rachelleardle_ THANKS! ❤️. My goal is to get monetized. I keep forgetting about the 500 sub perks because I’m more focused on the 1000 sub perks. I help ppl quite often before starting my channel so now that it’s being recorded and shared, I’m hoping to get paid, but not quit my career because I love that as well. Thanks for asking and best wishes to you are you continue to grow! ❤️
@@southernlivinginterviews If your interested in the 500 sub perks definitely have a look at www.patreon.com/ it's the same thing you get for the 500 sub perks without having to wait. :) I see you're doing a mix of shorts and long form. Make sure you keen an eye on the watch hours separately as they both have a different number of watch hours to hit to be able to join the YT partner program. You don't need to meet the minimum watch time for each just one or the other.
@@rachelleardle_ Broadly speaking, Europe and Asia are my favourites although I love Australia and am coming back in October! Did you create videos of your year long travel adventures?
@betterndtravel Happy to give any tips for Aus if you're wanting them. Asia is my favourite continent. We did start to make videos on TikTok, but we stopped after a few months. They did really well, but I was just too busy. It's @sleeplesstravel
At the very beginning of your video, in the top right corner, a box pops up with what I think is a link to another video. Is that something that you add and if so, can you share any details? I would so appreciate it.
Also, can you please clarify the eight minute length video versus 10 minute? I am not clear whether we should aim for eight or 10 minutes. Thanks in advance!
Thanks for the tip on 8 minutes for ads. Guess I'm going to have to go back and combine some of mine or add more to them. Taken me ten months to get to 689 subscribers and 361 videos. Quite a few are shorts but about 130 are long form videos. But, only 577 public watch hours.
That's a really good number of subscribers for a few months. Everyones journey is different ao try not to compare yourself to accounts that grow really fast. If you're chasing monetization just remember that the required watch time hours for shorts and long form are different.
@@rachelleardle_ Yes, didn’t realize shorts hours didn’t count the same at first. UA-cam could clear that up. I’m testing long form only on another channel, @TheOtherBeekeeper it has 8 subscribers after 4 weeks.
@@rachelleardle_ Yes, I decided when I started I was to busy with the bees than to do more at this time. Before long I’ll reduce the number of bee hives. I was a retail store owner for 15 years so, I can get products to sell. Just, not ready to invest more time. Lots of options available on UA-cam.
I'm currently putting Podcasts on UA-cam. I know, I know. UA-cam isn't *really* for Podcasts. BUT... everytime I try to video my face.... How do you speak so fluidly and effortless? I say 'um' and 'eh' and hesitate a LOT and lose my train of thought. SOOO I'm scripting my stuff. Which is great, but less personal/realistic. Do you script or anything?
It's taken a while for me to feel super comfortable in front of the camera. My first videos (still on my account) are definitely not as effortless as these. I do script everything, and this is my process. 1- script out exactly what I want to say. 2 - Read my script out loud and change it to sound exactly the same way as when I talk. 3 - I then film in batches. It isn't one long take. I read a paragraph, say it talking to the camera then recod me saying it. It takes time and practice to build up camera confidence. Remember those first 20-50 odd videos you film won't be perfect but getting started is what will eventually make it easier for you to talk to the camera.

@ellenshealthykitchen Hi, yes, it is. When you're uploading, there is a section to add a card. This is what pops up on the top right of the screen. You can add a link to a video or a playpist of yours.

Yay I have been waiting for today's video 🎉
Hope you enjoyed it!
It's Tuesday already🎉
The week has gone so fast
I didn't know that about videos needing to be 8min to have ads in the middle. Thanks.
It's definitely something to remember for sure
Good tip about the 8 min rule for video length! I don’t know, but happily mine are all long enough 🎉😊 Just need to grow now!
Awesome! It is definitely one of those little things t start implementing now that could make a difference once you're monetized for sure.
I hada. look at your chanel and it looks like we both have a love for travel. Where has been your favourite place to visit?

@@thekidvet I think slideshows are easier since you're not the main focus on screen and there are other aspects of your video for people to focus on.
