I love Rusty Cooley. He's the reason I picked up a 7 along with Chris Broderick.
Wish Outworld could make a comeback.
Broderick is a beast on the axe. I saw him live while in Megadeth and he was flawless.
It's funny that Rusty Cooley mentioned Scott Mishoe because a lot of people don't remember him, but he was one of those guys doing crazy things back in the nineties. For example, his slap and tapping technique was from outerspace, and even today you watch videos and can't believe what he is doing. Guthrie Govan has mentioned Mishoe as well in one of his videos.
Scotty Mishoe is the best electric slap guitarist
Scotty Mishoe and Miyavi is the electric slap guitar collaboration I’ve been waiting for
There's nothing more exciting than a jam with Herman Li and Rusty Cooley.🤘
I saw that little tag at the bottom that said bring back Outworld. Well.....That would be quite amazing. I sure miss jamming those tunes. They all were quite taxing on us all to play but we had the greatest time writing them all .The single greatest album I ever wrote drums on and definately enjoyed rehearsing them. But all of that having been said, every night at rehearsal, I was humbled by just simply watching and hearing Rusty play. We threw down!!
Thanks Herman Li for having Rusty on. You are a gentleman and a maestro sir!
DD
Found Outworld when I was in high school like around 2012, seemed like just the one album, but absolutely adored it.
Bought physical, even during our digital age.
Thanks for all your hard work
I love these type of comments lmao it could've ended after the first sentence
So glad I came across this! Great dialogue! And obscene playing.
It was always cool to play guitar even during grunge. It wasnt cool to play solos at the time but it still was cool to be a guitar player.
I think both of you guys are awesome! 🤘
I checked out Todd Duane here on youtube. His playing sounded very familiar. It turns out that Todd Duane played in a band/project called Electrocution 250. They released an album called "Cartoon music from Hell" back in 2003. It was a mixture of instrumental metal/prog/jazz-fusion. This is an album I used to listen to quite a lot some 15 years ago or so. It is worth checking out.
I released E250 on my old label, Liquid Note Records. Believe it or not, Todd is now a Christian artist whose last album was Heaven Rocks. It's still good stuff though!
Rusty should give the list of his guest solos
Awesome vid. Found Rusty when just scouring the net for completely over the top shred in the early aughts, found a bunch of him, Francesco Fareri, and other early 7 and 8 string adopters and being floored by both the technique and their Rachmaninov class stretches. I simple9 lack the digit length to do an 8 string cleanly, and I need a very thin and narrow neck to make full use of the extra B string on a 7 string without lots of inadvertent mutes and fret buzz.
War of rbe Angels remains one of my all time favorite balls to the wall wankfests some 20 years and I've actually learned most od it, though I've never tried to do a full playthrough in a single take.
We saw you with rusty in Houston. You were super cool to my sons. Thanks. It means alot to them and they cherish your gifts.
He mentioned shawn lane. He has my respect.
@@MetalSupporter95 absolutely criminal Lane isn't a household name. I don't understand how he's not. Then again neither is Holdsworth... People just suck...
Great, great episode!!
With all the amazing guitar players on your channel im more amazed on how do you get to jam back and fourth with out latancy or lag messing everything up.
Nice work herman li your improving ways is getting better through this good cause, well played and rusty nicely done too.
Might have to steal that neat sweeping trick!
I can use all the help I can get with sweep picking.
Takayoshi Ohmura is also underrated in the western world. Check for his right hand picking. It's out of this world :)
Yess.
I'm about to say this🤘🏻Its so true that his picking are the easiest way to reach hyper speed of play
Neo classical metal... Syu!! Mozart .. paganini.. Galneryus Syu from Japan!!
Rusty cooley solo in his band (day of reckoning)is just mind blowing.....
Outworld was my favorite Rusty Cooly band the Carlos Zema version I had high hopes for that band
Love these older streams
Roy Marchbank is absolutely the fastest player alive right now . Not necessarily a fan of his style but hands down no one comes close .
Fastest and most accurate also.
Amen
He is next level fast.
He the fastest alternate picker and legato ever
@@samtindall2369 amen!!
12:25 Herman J. Malmsteen
buckethead is an underrated fast player. plz mention buckethead the world needs to see him.............
underrated?
The world can't "see" buckethead though... 😂 he has a bucket over his head
@@saywhhaaa1064 someone caught on lolol
SO UNDERRATED. That would be awesome if BUCKETHEAD was on his show
@@shadownumber1 he doesn’t even talk but that’d be good tho
Rusty....What a Legend.....We just love you here in Sweden.....🕊🕊
I remember Rusty Cooley!
He’s the 8 string shredder
Huge cut-way to achieve MEGA SHREDDING
His wasn't double low string though. If I remember correctly, he had a low B and high A
Herman thank you sooo much for this incredible content!!! I have been a fan since dragon ball z (yes even before guitar hero!!!) You,and the band, have always been an amazing inspiration ❤️ ✨️ 💖 just wanted to send some love your way and hopefully I will be able to see u guys in concert soon, I think the last time my brother and I saw you guys was like 2007ish at the house of blues with an all girl tiawanese band and they rocked too......keep on rocking my bro!!! 🤘🤘🤘
Legendary shredding in this vid. Thanks 👍
I love Herman's style. So clean and fluid.
Effortless too he makes it look so easy. These top shredders are masters at tension control which is my biggest hurdle.
They need to mention some of the older player like Schenker, or Blackmore. No Blackmore, no Y. Malmstein. Even the great Eddie Van halen gave credit to Schenker. I still have the guitar player from the mid 80's with Schenker on the cover where they have a quote from Eddie about Michael.
Regular Guitarist can follow your playing note by note.
Rusty can follow your mega shredding by his eye in real time.
This is simply amazing
I'm a drummer and I must say I have Rusty Cooley's DVDs and Booksssss.s
Fretboard Autopsy Book/DVD
Arpeggio Madness Book/DVD
I've learned a lot and still learning... Some days when I get lost in the book I just play the DVD and there it is what I was looking for. Rusty Cooley is a beast with fast fucking fingers lol.
This is such a shred feast! 😍
Thank you Herman for introducing me to Rusty!!
Yo Onityan is probably one of the modern fastest I’ve seen
The backgroundsong while shredding on the strat reminds me heavily on Running Wild-Victory
DO a duet with Michael Angelo Batio that he plays fast and precise every single note on clean and distortion.
❤ Loves it!‼️
If shawn lane was still alive rusty would be shitting bricks😅
Lucid dream fuel for metal heads as usual
Love the ozzy font ORMSBY shirt 🤘
One thing that a lot of people forget to mention is the unbelievable struggel a guitar player went through. To be on a level like Rusty or Herman, Tosin or Tim Henson, comes with a lot of sacrifices. You don't have a lot of friends, when eveybody is going out to party, you sit in your room to practise....thousands of hours....Well, i guess nothing is for free right?
If I have time enough to do just 1 thing I like all day for years without worrying about anything else in my life, I won't call it sacrifice
@@Kleber932 i can understand your opinion. But i also think that this is different for everyone.
@@psionic6126 ummmm...I don't think the definition of the word "sacrifice" changes depending on who we're talking about. They didn't sacrifice anything. They CHOSE to play guitar for thousands of hours because that is what they love doing.
I wonder if they know Charles caswell
Interesting to see Rusty still playing his old Deans
Micheal Angelo Batio isn't even mentioned?
Good work sounds great
Paul Wardingham is really good too.
Herman and Rusty holy shit that was awesome!
I would love to be on the show my friend. Some super shred with me bro.
Austrian death machine with hasta la vista 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Alex Skolnick , Mark St John are really fast too.
Shawn Lane is for sure the best. Guthrie Govan is right behind him.
Have you ever seen Damian Salazar? He's a street performer in Brazil, he's unbelievably good and can play fast as hell and super clean!! Check him out! 👍
Argentina not Brazil. But he does play with alot of emotion and feeling plus he's fast af
Tenés que escuchar a Damian Salazar!! Es lo mejor que hay en You Tube en este momento y toca en la calle!
Kudos to whoever edited the hell out of this. 🙂
So amazing,i see you again🇮🇩👍
I’ve always liked Michael Angelo Batio…I think he’s really fast & clean & plays from all angles…I like his Four connected guitarIs & they look like a big X & spin…Very cool…My favorite guitarist is John Petrucci…Speed is only one very small component defining a great guitarist…I like Herman better than the other dude…I actually enjoy Herman’s playing more…Herman does put more feeling behind his playing…Some of the best guitarists aren’t very fast…
I wish Bumblefoot had played. He's so fun
Nobody can hold a candle to MAB.
One day I’ll be on here with Herman li
Guitar Autopsy is amazing!
Rusty Cooley is an electric guitar GURU no possible comparison this guy is the best worldwide.
I’ve said it before
Rusty is the Metal Shawn Lane..
Rusty in my own opinion
I would work on the phrasing part then eventually everything will seep through and be perfect.!
great content
You Ready Kids Di meola Gambale Holdsworth Mclaughlin Lane Also dont Forget The BlackBerry Jam & RaspBerry Jam
Amazing musicians
Sean Lane said Buckethead was the fastest guitarist he's ever seen...also what about Michael Angelo Batio???
Ive seen Buckethead live 8 times in his peak absolute prime arguably 2005-2008 he's an extremely special all time elite legendary player, but even he is not as fast as Rusty Cooley or Shawn Lane nah, or peak prime like 1986 Paul Gilbert for that matter, he's in the rough ball park definitely on a justified top 10 shredder all time list though he is no doubt.
Why has my comment been taken down??? explain?
Roy Marchbank is the fastest I've ever seen
Rusty on his peak was faster. Those legato 4 fingers runs were from other world.
I think Roy is fake, his guitar sound is super processed and in videos where’s he’s not in his home set up sounds significantly worse
Roy's the fastest good guitar player I ever heard NOW, technically ferocious and a whole other cat...
But it Sounds like shit
@@gabimeredith1 If he was fake it'd be exposed by now fairly easily after a career spanning 30+ years now, and his lack of mainstream could ju7st be explained away by the fact such music will simply never ever be mainstream popular for obvious reasons, I think he's genuinely that much of a freak and just extremely specialized technique is all likely I can totally see someone getting like that precise if they literally both had talent and then put in say 50-75 thousand+ hours of practice for example and then some.
Try Scott Mishoe
"I mean ,Rusty's wood, my guy ."
- Norm Macdonald
Herman Li - The Fastest Guitarist In The World Vs Skwisgaar Skwigelf - The Fastest Guitarist Alive
Well I agree that he can pick fast but he doesn’t cover a lot of the fretboard like a lot of other guitar players that probably play as quick if not faster than him. for instance a guy that I think you should have on your show is Paul Wardingham. Also another guy which isn’t that main stream who is a phenomenal player is Rick Graham. Also Angel Vivaldi is a great player that I think you should also have on the show. Staccato playing is great but me personally I like players who mix in legato phrasing also with the staccato to make it more versatile. Like Satriani
I ment if Rusty works in his phrasing
Done deal the best in metal
Jeff Loomis is a master at phrasing.!
Just sick
francesco fareri
Btw when do u release "Cyber Sausage World feat. Elize Ryd"? That's awesome song🤘🤩🤘
shawn is my hero, i wrote vigier and told them i wanted his guitar and they didnt respond, get one for me herman.. lol :)
You guys need to know @ROBERTO DE BARROS !
Shawn lane was my answer and he did say shawn lane......1:03
NO ! Stop 🛑 being RIVALS !! You all play GOOD 👍🏻
Dmitry Shokran needs to be interviewed
He is looking like John Petrucci here, physically and playing wise.
I'm surprised John Petrucci was not mentioned as far as greatest guitar players go.
Balawan from indonesia shreds ⚡
Now a days i love to listen Bucket head
Roy Clark should be considered as well
Herman lee vs michael angelo batio
what's the track that plays right at the end?
wow just wow if they intend to make it melodic they can if they want to shred they make it lightning fast,
Saya menyukai kalian 👍👍
Herman💗
Pls post the stream with marty!!!
Batio > ⚡️
The first time I heard Rusty Cooley play, I'm pretty sure I needed new underwear.
This is really cool BUT the rythmic guitar's volume is at 11 so I can only barely hear the solos
I thought it was just me.
Love that Herman was influenced by Nirvana. I am around the same age and Nirvana was a huge influence on me too despite me being more into technical players.
Edit- shit Rusty mentioned the highly underrated Darren Housholder of Love/Hate and a solo artist. A very tasteful shredder.
What about MAB?
What program are they using here for the live jams?
