    Love these sweet things. After the kiss, the macaque is like, “What the…? Is anyone else seeing this?” Lol ❤️

    Anyone else cry a tear of joy to see Kasper in all his renewed wild glory!? They cared for him and helped him for FOURTEEN YEARS!! AND look at him now. 👑 King of his little release island. It's not ideal, but it's better than dead and better than a zoo or total captivity. Hopefully he'll do well in his new home.
    I dunno, he just seemed to be so perfectly protective and ... Btw this is more than a 200 lb male. I'm 220 myself and I'm like ½ his size! He's at LEAST 300 I'd say. Anyway. Just thought I'd share. I haven't really cried in about 6 or 7 years. I'm long overdue but seeing Kasper hold the technisi literally at bay... And grunting and waving sticks... Just made me so happy for him and proud of him. And I have nothing but love admiration and reverence for the marvelous supporters and volunteers and workers of this miraculously tremendous program

    I never knew until watching this series , that orangutans 🦧 make cute squeaks and noises and cute grunts ^^

      I never knew that too!
      Though I suspect one of the overused squeak-trill is loaded into a sample hit pad or something because it's so overused on this one particular program.
      Check out "monkey life" too (filmed at monkey World in Dorset UK) for more babies in the nursery and another look at rehabilitation and captive care for these orange peopl of the forest 💕🦧

    I love that so many other viewers understand just how beautiful it is that Kasper is aggrrssive to the humans. It really does prove that Jungle School and the Pre-release islands really does work.
    It really makes me grateful

      They are taking him back to the sanctuary centre. This island he's living now is a pre-release island which is a training location to see if he's capable to live in the wild. Everyday, the technicians who supply food for the orangutans at the islands would keep record of their progress. Among the skills they look out for are the ability to find their own food, building their own nests, their relationship with other orangutans and their attitude towards humans. The wilder orangutans are better. The less orangutans need human the better. Kasper had shown all the ability to live indipendently. So, they must catch him, take him back to the centre then set the schedule to release him into the wild. Once an orangutan leaves the pre-release island, another orangutan who had finished jungle school will move in taking the vacant space. The cycle continues.

      That's actually a very widely cited statistic for adult male orangutans. It's obviously a very imprecise and problematic way to describe strength but it seems to be the consensus.

    • @Hansulf
      @Hansulf 2 роки тому +1

      @@stephenbrand5661 So they can hold 700kg hanging from a branch? (going for their, probably, strongest feature). Yeah, right... Absolute no sense.

    • @eps-nx8zg
      @eps-nx8zg 2 роки тому +1

      @@Hansulf pretty sure the correct statistic is 4x the strength of a human specifically in the upper body, they also tend to weigh less than us so I'm not sure if they scaled for weight or not. However when they say 7x the strength they might be referring to the flanged males which apparently according to some sources can weigh up to 300 pounds, but I think somewhere around 200 is more realistic. The average human male by comparison would ideally weigh somewhere around 155 pounds.
