Sensational video, thanks!! Was on QF 094 once, and delayed on taxi way for over 30 mins. Didnt mind though. The A380's an awesome plane. Still my fav is the 747-400 =)
aahhh yes, night shooting - for this you need to be close and it does'nt get much closer than this!! Beautifully shot under the lights and great to hear the atc radio as well (it's always interesting to hear how other airports communicate with aircraft) I love the taxing shot on 1:41 The 380 in the dark ,2:40, is like an oceanliner on the dancefloor!! (with all the coloured lights) . The night DOES play tricks with the eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am in my native country of Sweden right now on vacation. On the way here, we had to connect in Zurich, Switzerland on a flight from Philadelphia. At Zurich, I actually saw a Singapore Airlines A380. I got a picture of it!!
@MrFlashjet ...Flash, when the rest of the world comes to it's senses to develop a greater appreciation for civil aviation on-air commentary..you and hmasurg will be the #1 team of commentators!
@hmasurg haha...good one, the ship was delayed an hour and when departing on the 25's they 'must' traverse completely around the south side of the airfield to line up on 25L. We must have been moving at 30-35 mph.
My first flight to Aus was in 11974 on what was then known as a Jumbo Jet. We left in the dark from "Frisco and stopped in the dark at Noumea and in the morning at Aukland arriving some time in the mid day at Botany Bay. The most remarkable thing was the breakfast they brought us wich included eggs and sausage, ham, bacon and some other things. In America you have to go to a buffet to get a breakfast with that much meat.
How would I have loved to be on that plane.. starting to film and catching you doing the same.. The spotter has become the spotted!! That's how an A380 should be filmed.. up close and personal!! What was your speed during taxi?
Was that video taken on July 24, 2011? I flew VH-OQD on July 24 and left one hour late depart and pushback straight to taxiway from gate 101 while security cars with flashing lights follow my plane to south side of taxiway after cross both runways just like you showed this video. Tell me that is really on July 24th on the night from LAX to MEL.
AdMiRaLeDpIeTt No. Because at 2:17 it's on a taxiway, at 3:58 it's on the active and I'm farther away from it plus it's speed is beyond what I could manage.
+Niklas Enblom From New York to LA would be about 5 hours. Then you would need to board a new flight (in most cases) and then make a 13-14 hour flight to Sydney from LA.
"Qantas needs flights to Mexico" Actually no, there wouldnt be enough demand for us aussies wanting to travel there.....and for those that do the current arrangement is perfectly fine.
As big and as impressive as the A380 is , i just cant take to it. It will never be as popular or as iconic as the 747. I just think the A380 is an Ugly aircraft, but maybe thats just me i suppose
Found this today. I flew back to Sydney from LAX in August 2012 on a Qantas A380. What a fantastic aircraft 👍🏻
I went to Australia last year on a A380 with SIA, the quietest most stable trip ever, coming back on 777 was another story.... nice video!
5 stars!! Probably the best A380 video I have ever seen! Really nice!!
I love this video! Particularly like that you show the pax inside the plane.

This is an amazing perspective view on the A380!

So proud to be Aussie when i see Qantas. So proud this jet is made in the USA.
It's made in France...

this is EXACTLY what i was looking for!
Thank you so much for this!!
Absolutely beautiful.

Qantas got the most powerful A380 with RRT900 Engines
By the way it's 14 hours to Sydney and 15 & half to Melbourne from Lax
Cheers from Melbourne
I saw QOD in the QF hangar today
nice! good sound quality!
depends on the airlines 'personal' configuration. In this case Qantas I believe has around about 500 seats in 3 classes.
Great video thanks for posting.
Niceee hope it was a good experience for you my friend.

Ronald Fitch uncle I was born in 1988 but I have to say 1970'S things were much better but today air flights are Morden safer quieter then ever before
Ronald Fitch that's why Americans are so fat & obese
@sethflight you're very welcome seth!
awesome video , wow .
Great video!!
LAX is a Qantas hub for the U.S.
My sister flew from Mexico to LAX then to Sydney.

MAGNAVOX.

HI 'StarBoard76'.
The QANTAS A380 has four travel classes. Seat allocation is roughly,
14 First; 72 Business; 32 Premium Economy; 332 Economy - housing 450 passengers.
such a cool video!
Awesomeee!!!!!
I always catch this A380 coming from LAX in the early hours of morning here in Sydney while im on my way to work,
Supid, I think you should rephrase your sentence. You see this A380, I'm sure you don't fly on it every day
how can you make this amazing movies !!!!!!!!!!! woooooooow 10 from 5 stars ! when 5 is the max you`ll get 10 !!!! :-)))
nice video my friend.
@TheEMS41 ..haha..thanks alot!
@marcoGismondi93 grazie Marco
How that plane flies I have no idea!
@SunsetSideVet They once did fly to Mexico City during their early years. Maybe they will again someday if the tourist nunbers make it viable.
this is entirely on the south side, those runways are on the north. In this case .. 25L did the honors.
Nice vide thxs🙏🙏🙏
When you see a boeing plane landing or taking of a night both sides of the plane by the cockpit are lit up but airbus dont have that????
How would I have loved to be on that plane.. starting to film and catching you doing the same.. The spotter has become the spotted!!

What is the seating capacity of the A380?
A380-842 ? These have different RR fans than the 841s ?
You are working on the airport or what?
Can't you follow the A380's takeoff in 3:58 just the way you did in 2:17?
AdMiRaLeDpIeTt No. Because at 2:17 it's on a taxiway, at 3:58 it's on the active and I'm farther away from it plus it's speed is beyond what I could manage.
They didn't have the lights illuminating the tail on!
Oh damn, I thought it was a beached whale from the thumbnail, but its actually an a380.
Can anyone tell me how long it would take to fly from, say, New York to Sydney?
+Niklas Enblom From New York to LA would be about 5 hours. Then you would need to board a new flight (in most cases) and then make a 13-14 hour flight to Sydney from LA.
That would be a long flight, for sure! I would love to go to Australia one day. I'll put that one my bucket list!
Are you a Safety Officer?
P.s .. Its a brilliant video all the same :)
Actually about 460 in 4 class config.
@Starboard76 ywc :-) god bless y !
@Shane028 Is a bit hard on the eyes
