  • This video is about things you could consider if you crash or have a big increase in symptoms. I speak about the language we use include the word 'crash', and the benefit of reflecting on thoughts, the story we tell ourselves about why this happened and also our behaviours and emotions. I also speak about a few ways we can increase feelings of safety.
I'm not a medical professional so this is not medical advice or mental health advice. Seek help from your primary care doctor or local services if you are concerned about your health or mental health.
On this channel I speak about topics related to Long Covid, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and other similar conditions. I found the work of Dr. John Sarno really helpful, in particular his book The Mindbody Prescription. I also found Internal Family Systems (IFS) approaches useful for helping me learn how to get more aware of emotions. Dr. John Sarno, speaks about Tension Myositis Syndrome (TMS) - a condition underpinned by repressed emotions, his work and the work of his colleagues help many people including those with chronic fatigue and chronic pain.

One of my strategies is adding this video to my SOS UA-cam playlist so when I’m struggling I can rewatch it❤️great idea to have a plan of action already in place!

So helpful. In a bad state and needed this. Watching at the start of my day during a bad flare up has made me feel less alone and bleak 💕

My routine changes constantly (every few months) which means my body crashes super often.

SO many ads in this video… probably about 4-5… quite intrusive and makes it difficult to focus on content, otherwise much appreciated advice, and lovely tone of voice too. Thank You

It's strange, someone mentioned the ads before. I can't actually put any ads in, you need 1000 subscribers to do that, so it must be something UA-cam put in. Thanks for watching despite this :)

Right? I find that no one gets it unless they have gone through it. Took me a year.

Lucy, excellent video! I’m learning so much from you. Thank you! I have a question, how long did it take you to get your life back after starting healing with this approach?

Thanks for watching Maria! Before I started using this approach I was able to go out for about a 15 minute walk (just for context as people start in different places) then it took about 6 months for me to be able to do the physical activities I did before being unwell - without getting any symptoms afterwards. But it is different for everyone and good to stay open minded about the length of time it might take.

@@mindbodyintegratethan you for the information! It’s good to know it takes different amount of time for different people to recover, because, well, we all have different brains and there are so many variables involved!
