My good sir, I come to you again asking for a Maegor the bronze or the good part 3, every single time see a new video of your pop in my notifications I find myself hoping profusely that it might be a continuation to the amazing narrative you have created, and again please my good sir make part 3.
I’m a convinced that the defiance was an elaborate assassination plot by Tywin and Rhaegar. Think about it, who benefited most from the defiance, especially if Aerys died, Tywin. This would make sense since the relationship between the king and hand have been strenuous at best. My theory is that Tywin bought off the Darklens in this plot with money, a way to save their house or at very least wealthy enough to enjoy exile. Theirs also the fact that Aerys made it a habit of doing the exact opposite of what Tywin suggested. Tywin told him in the strongest possible way to not go, there by convincing the king to go. Then Tywin suggested that they assemble a massive escort to protect him, thereby convincing the king to only bring a single kingsgaurd. Meanwhile Tywin and Rhaegar mustered a army outside the gates demanding the king’s return as to present plausible deniability. My final piece of evidence is the council meeting before the final day of the defiance. In the meeting where one member of the council asked Tywin whether or not the Darklens would kill Aerys, Tywin replied “He may or he may not, but regardless of that fact we have better king right here” and pointed to Rhaegar. To me Tywin being behind the plot is the only way Darklens actions make sense. Otherwise what possess him to the point we’re he would imprison the king know he would have to fight Tywin and the seven kingdoms unless he a had an out.
My personal head cannon is that the defiance was tywins failed coup to kill aerys, because of the bitterness that devolved between them. I think he wanted aerys to die because rheagar would be more competent and could be the vessel to get tywins grandson on the thrown via cersei
Without Rhaegar marrying Lyana and with the mad king dying, there is no child of ice and fire (Jon) or reawakening of the dragons. So even though this is probably a better situation overall, the battle vs the white walkers will be much harder if they find another way past the wall, even with a united realm.
If we want deanearys' whole becoming queen arc to happen maybe denearys gets kidnapped and presumed dead then as she's about to return to her family a misunderstanding happens and she runs away to essos where it starts over with her marrying khal Drogo and her story remains as is, with a few exceptions like she not having viserys, Jorah, baristan or tyrion
And to make deanearys' happen we ofc would need her mom to get hooked with someone OR maybe she reappeard in the story as someone else's daughter, rhaegar ofc
What if Stannis married Cersei? Robert succumbed to his injuries after the Battle of the trident and died, making Stannis King and marrying Cersei. What if *Part Two* to Robb & Myrcella? What if Gerold Hightower or Varys kill The Mad King while Jamie was at the Tower Of Joy? What if Ned won agents Jaime at the Tower Of Joy? What if Ned told Catryin the truth of John Snow’s heritage and they shared the secret. Personally I see Cat keeping the secret and treating him a lot better especially in private.
I see the opposite. I think Cate will be 10x more mad cuz- 1. Ned would tell her that Lyanna wasn't kidnapped, it was a mutual, so the entire rebellion was a lie 2. in extant, Brandon and Rickard died for nothing, Brandon, whom she liked more and was engaged to died for nothing. 3. She'll prob see Jon as the MAIN reason for Brandon death. In the books, she still says that Brandon should have been Lord of WInterfell, not Ned. 4. I also think Cate definitely would tell her sister, uncle, brother, etc and we all know where would her sister go with this info.
@@dilxc gonna add to this. I also think Cat would be worried of what Robert would think since theyre harboring his enemy's son. I wonder what could've been done to avoid the defiance, put some business solely in Duskendale to grant it some revenue (with a hefty sum still going to the Iron Throne of course), place a small secondary maester school there, the guild of alchemists, make it base for the royal fleet. There's tons of options that'd be of benefit to both the Darklyn's and the crown. What if the Reyne-Tarbeck rebellion hadn't happened yet? Those two houses were just waiting for the chance to screw over Tywin and "repay" him for his generousity.
Most of this was you being a matchmaker, but ya this does feel what would happen. I wonder if Ned would stay in Storms End have a place helping Robert or join the Small Council as Master of Laws. You know, this still would follow the prophecy. The Baratheons are technically Targaryens. Robert’s Grandma was a Targaryen and the first Baratheon is Aegon’s bastard brother. We would just need to know who would be the Targaryen on the throne with dragons while Jon becomes more akin to a knight/the hero
Damn House Darklyn, you had 1 JOB!!! and you could have set off the PERFECT timeline. I think Rhaegar as next in line could have been watching the events more closely and kept Tywin from giving them the Reigns treatment too.
@5:00 And was horribly abusive to her as well (which had probably gotten worse by the time of the Defiance of Duskendale in 277 AC, because in 275 AC Aerys had sworn-off mistresses so they were no longer distracting him.) The night that Aerys burned Qarlton Chelsted (for trying to talk Aerys out of his Wildfire plan,) he raped Rhaella so savagely that Jaime, who was standing guard, was able to burst in and intercede, until he was stopped by Jon Darry, because although the Kingsguard are sworn to guard the queen as well, they are not allowed to guard her from him, according to Jon. The next day, she had scratches, bruises, and bites all over her body, "as if she had been mauled by a savage beast"- a crowned beast. So aside from Rhaegar having to take the throne at a young age, the death of Aerys in and of itself was fantastic news for Rhaella, both in terms of her life (unbeknownst to her) and in terms of her health and safety
While I agree that the marriage to Cersei is a smart move politically, the reason I think Rhaegar might hesitate is that the royal line is very fragile at this point and he might feel the need to produce heirs immediately. If I’m remembering right, at this point in time Cersei isn’t even 10 years old. I’m not sure Rhaegar would be comfortable waiting so long to secure his line of succession
I honestly like to see what would happen if Larys strong like Rhaenyra Targaryen instead of Alice. In my opinion it’s not that much of a stretch since all we need to do is rust swap his interest from Alice’s to Rhaenyra then boom different time line. I also see this a possible because larys like having control over people and who is more better to control then a teen girl afraid of her right of succession being taken away. And what would give him more pleasure, having control over a “ all be it powerful” banded lord (house high tower) daughter or the princess and next in line for the throne

Instead, Summerhall went up in flames and most of the Targaryens died, except for Jaehaerys II, Shaera, a young Aerys II, a young Rhaella and newborn Rhaegar. Something I've been wondering since we see a lot of the blame for their lost pregnancies be put on Aemma, is what if Viserys was infertile or at least had infertility issues that might've caused Alicent trouble in giving him children too - so Daemon secretly fathered Alicent's children instead to avoid Viserys/House Targaryen looking bad, and to bolster their house's numbers? We know that Daemon hated the Hightowers, but he loved his brother and family, so I could see him begrudgingly helping Alicent out (maybe even without Viserys and Otto knowing?).
