- In today’s video, we’re doing a walk around and overview with the all new 2023 BMW M2! This G87 M2 is finished in Brooklyn Grey Metallic over Black Vernasca Leather with Blue Contrast Stitching. It is shown wearing 930m 19/20” wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S performance tires. The M2 features BMW’s S58 3.0L twin-turbocharged inline 6 paired to a 6-speed manual transmission (or available 8-speed auto), which sends power to the rear wheels only. The M2 produces 450 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque according to BMW, although independent testers have measured higher horsepower output. This is enough to propel the M2 to 60mph in just 4.1 seconds when equipped with a manual transmission.

Do you have in the showroom to look at in person ?
Not this exact one, but we do have an M2 in a very similar spec in the showroom currently!
Does the shifting feel the same as in the G80 and G82?
It's been a while since I've driven a manual G80 or G82. That said, if my memory serves, the M2 has a noticeably better feeling shifter than those cars. I noticed how nice it felt on the first shift, and wasn't struck in that same way when I first drove a manual G80. My memory could be playing tricks on me, but I do think the shifter feels a bit better in the M2.
It’s far from a bad-looking bimmer but not quiet the looker that the F87 was. The biggest downside is the weight though since it weights nearly as much as a base G80, which is excessive for a 2 series.
Agreed on both accounts. The F87 is certainly a more traditionally beautiful car, but this looks really cool in its own way. The weight is also a bit excessive, it would be literally perfect if it were 3-400 pounds lighter. But, no car is perfect, and as a total package, this is still a winner in my eyes!
Wheels are different to other reviews??
These are the same wheels that you'll see on any other M2. Perhaps they just look a bit different here, or you haven't seen these angles? But they are the same wheels on any other G87.

Almost the weight of a M4

It is a bit heavy, but as I said in the video (at least I think I addressed this), the vast majority of drivers won't find that the increased weight makes any difference in their use case for the car. We're not racing drivers that need every pound saved to improve our lap times. For having fun and using the car every day, the extra weight really doesn't make a huge difference.
