I can't verify it but the story that came with the organ was that Showland March was written for this organ by James Tiller at the request of Keith Emmett Snr. unfortunately neither party are with us now to ask.
Playing nicely, i put this organ back together from a box of bits, some of the pipes had fallen apart completely, the main case & bellows are of Bruder origin, there's a serial number underneath, the upper part of the case has been added to the original barrel organ case, its a nice & quite interesting organ.
@@robertharris5545 The keyframe speed is now correct and that made a big difference, I suspect that it must have been fiddled with sunce you put it back together. There are a few jobs to get sorted over the winter, one of the bass helpers has gone a bit breathy so need to investigate why.

Thank you Lucas for taking the time to record and post this video, some of the older UA-cam videos of this organ show it in a rather less than adequate state of action and tuning.
@@MechanicalMusicTravels No problem, it was a great weekend, it was just a pity we were all a bit crammed together as the land at the bottom of the field was too wet to get vehicles on or more important to get them off again). I hope to get it to a few more events next year.
@@neilscully6597 Such a nice organ you have there Neil. I have a passion for these types of instruments I find them very fascinating and eye catching to look at! :)
@HarryYT22 Thank you for your nice comments, I'm glad you like it. I am very pleased I managed to gat it and get it back in good playing order with help from Rob Barker and valuable advice from Robert Harris.
@@neilscully6597 I am thinking next year in 2025 or maybe even in the future I would love to have my own fairground organ I'd like those small street organs to take around with me when I do Punch and Judy shows I could imagine the front facade of it with a little Mr Punch conductor one side and a Judy bell ringer on the other! Of course only downsides are they're very expensive and plus it would be hard to maintain and tune up although you could get people to that for you.
I recognise this instrument there is a video of it somewhere on UA-cam it's a really nice Verbeeck! Very compact but has a lovely sound. Nice camera angle as well as I can see the round looking stick next to the bass drum beater that makes it hit the cymbal.
Thanks Harry, I think the percussion is a newer addition - if I recall correctly this organ was also rebuilt by Chiappa Ltd. at some point in the past! One of the videos of it online is one I took years ago, but thankfully the organ plays quite a bit better now...
@@MechanicalMusicTravels We assume the drum wings are dating from the Chiappa rebuild in 1948 (Ben Varreto signed in he wind chest), they are typical of their construction.
It's a great sounding organ

That's interesting - obviously the Bruder pipework must have been considered too harsh to put back in the organ when Verbeeck rebuilt it!

That is a cool flex

Thanks very much Neil, and thanks for bringing it to MK! It was nice to see it again after so many years.
