    Hey I have a tip, put a magnet at the end of the screw driver so it’s easier to put screws in its place accurately

      Excellent tip! Now I have a numbers of small rare earth magnets I should try to remember to do that, I believe the screwdrivers become magnetised quite quickly anyway if you do that. 😀👍

    It's strange that kit comes with a different motor and apperantly softer tires. I believe I'm gona don't dual motor route as it had better ground clearance. But getting a proper esc and receiver will be my first thing to do as proportional steering is a must!! Lol

      agreed. good luck with the mods!👍

    Great video. You already have a new subscriber. Could you tell me what ESC I can use, make and model? Where have you bought the ESC and batteries? Sorry but my English is not very good, Thanks

      I tend to use the cheap 20 amp speed controllers from amazon : rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-53481-19255-0/1?ff3=4&toolid=11800&pub=5575486648&campid=5338486327&mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fitm%2F10A-Bustophedon-ESC-Brushed-Speed-Controller-BEC-5V-1A-For-RC-Car-Truck-Boat-FA%2F113153672041%3FssPageName%3DSTRK%253AMEBIDX%253AIT%26_trksid%3Dp2057872.m2749.l2649

      Yes. Many of the small ones from Hobbyking will do the job. 😀👍

    I'm not sure if ya mentioned it but are the shocks plastic and are they spring loaded or fluid filled? Do they sale parts for this truck? Great video my friend. Keep up the good work and take care.

    • @RCModders
      @RCModders  6 років тому

      Thank you for your kind comments. The shocks are plastic with springs (no oil). I think that spares and upgrades are available. The kit for the truck is also very inexpensive compared with most other other hobby grade RC models.

    definitely check out Gabriel Silvaz channel about these WPL's. he fabs a transfer case for a pair of 12v 300 RPM geared N20 motors (1 for front 1 for rear). an inexpensive little light weight 20A brushed ESC, light weight 2S LiPo. a 180 motor is too much power and speed for their own good, and things break. the N20's provide really steady torque for crawling, his other videos demonstrate its capabilities after the simple mod, and you're not going to believe the kinds of places he drives them through (wear a chin strap!).
    on that, I do think WPL needs to re-visit their motor gearbox, a 130 size motor would be plenty if they added another reduction gear to cut speed to about 1/3. if sold as a "crawler transmission" optional replacement part, they would see a lot of orders for them quickly. also think they do need to build their drive shafts and gears a little bit larger and stronger in the axles, the "heavier duty" replacement parts would sell. for the Toyota series about 3/8" body lift (longer screws and bits of tubing) and 1/4" longer travel softer spring/shocks "crawler upgrade suspension kit" is another package they could do well with producing, it would increase it's articulation quite a bit. for their military trucks, the first thing I noticed was way too much kink in the U-joints, for the drive shafts being at such extreme angles.
    the language barrier between English and Chinese makes things difficult sometimes.

      I agree with a lot of what you say. I see that that there are a lot of replacement metal parts for these which may help. The axles are great looking scale. I think though, that for the low price that these are great value. I have just insalled the transmission and axles into a Bruder Jeep Wrangler TJ and will probably want to upgrade the parts. I hope that I will doing this video today. Thank you for your comment.

    i'm new to this and planning on ordering a WPL C RC for the start, so if i want to install the esc can i still use the existing controller?or can u give me the link of what parts do i have to prepare to upgrade my incoming WPL to a hobby grade? thx before

    • @RCModders
      @RCModders  6 років тому

      Sorry for the delay, I forgot that I had a comments approval filter on. This was the kit version, so only came with the servo. For a hobby grade conversion, you will need a servo, receiver and speed controller (ESC). There are may options, but need to be small enough to fit and the servo needs to be the right size.
