Neil was directly involved, and updated it to the 2020s. So I have the absolute faith in this and pulling direct shots from the comics is just...*chef kiss*. And I love that (likely partially because they couldn't get the rights to John), they just made Johanna both the modern and past version of a Constantine that Dream dealt with.
Yeah, his involvement definitely makes me more excited

I have had a Sandman poster framed in my home for almost 30 yrs. I didn't know it was s comic until eight years later when an ex bought me the The Eye of the World book. About two yrs ago I binged The Sandmsn comics. Loved them. I truly hope they capture the nature and world of this character. I didn't care how the man playing the Sandman looked liked. I hope he acting is great so I can forget his looks
Dropped netflix a couple years ago. Sandman is one of the very few adaptions that would get me to subscribe to anyone doing it. Really, really hope Nerdy Nightly will be covering episode by episode...

as a huge Sandman fan, i loved this trailer and i'm super excited, and i agree with everything you said...except that i'm gravely offended by anything Sandman related being compared to Dr. Who lol
So excited for this! It's a _long_ time since I read the graphic novels, but the imagery is so on-point, it gave me shivers 😀 Plus Neil's involvement and an excellent British cast gives me hope that this will be a faithful adaptation.
The creators of the sandman comics are the showrunners so I hope so. Neil Gaiman is a showrunner, producer, writer and director for this show with David s goyer. They know what they're doing.
you don´t don´t have to make her read the complete series before the show comes out, season 1 only entails Preludes and Nocturnes & The Doll's House if I remember correctly, she can take her time with the rest ;)

It is a Netflix show but the staff and team behind the scenes or production is from warner bros. the same team that would work on it still even if HBO won the show or any other streaming service.
I'll say it.... "It looks better than I thought", I wish Doctor Who looked like this (and that Jenna Coleman was back in who). Really excited for the series now, Gaiman was super hands on for it which has to be a massive plus. The audible versions are really spectacular, the main reason I signed up to audible was to listen to the first, couldn't rate them higher.
Well, looks like Netflix is finally gonna get money out of me again. August subscription incoming
I love the Audible dramas. Kat Dennings is my headcannon for Death with her distinct voice though so thats gonna be an adjustment lol.
