Many people here in germany are even paying extra money to get a manual transmission. For example some Mercedes Cars arent even available with manual transmissions. Mostly young people want to drive manual cars.

5 or 6 easy steps. Step 1. Push in clutch. Step 2 . Put in gear Step 3. Floor gas Step 4. Dump clutch Step 5. Hold on for dear life. Step 6. Clean under pants if your in a real car.
@@jerms6642 One thing that really bothered me about this guys lesson was when your at at light or intersection or what ever he says to put it into neutral. the problem with that is if god forbid you happen to get rear ended your gonna go flying off because theres nothing holding the car back. if you leave the car in gear and get rear ended odds are your foots gonna come off the clutch stalling the car and stopping you from rolling forward. it might be a pain at first but trust me ive been doing this i was your age and im 34 now i dont even realize im dong it anymore. hope this helps and if you have any other questions feel free to ask, good luck
Luke Becker If you have 7 neutrals it means you blew up your transmission. 1st , 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and reverse don’t work that’s why I said 7 neutrals lol
I'm sure it's not as bad when you're actually doing it, but it seems like a ton of stuff to keep track of. Probably not a good idea for me to try this where I live, people here drive like if they go under the 50mph their car will explode.
You wanna know how I learned to drive stick? When I bought my second car, I had to teach myself on one very scary and lonely trip from Fort Worth TX to the other side of Dallas.
My mom is a teacher and everytime she teaches me how to drive, she'd always relates things to physics like torque power, velocity, acceleration and it honestly gets a little bit annoying even tho i know it's related. I watched this video and kinda self-taught myself to manual driving. Now I'm driving my mom's car. Thank you so much.
The one thing i’m scared of with driving a manual is being at a stop light and someone it behind you on a hill and you accidentally roll back before you start moving and crash
Yeah, don’t put it in neutral like this guy said, leave it in gear and there will be something holding your car back from flying away if you get rear ended
The C7 Corvette has hill hold assist which holds the car in place giving you time to add power prior to releasing the clutch. Once accustomed to the clutch/power application, fast application of power and slipping the clutch will allow you to prevent the car from drifting back. Practice makes perfection!
I don't need any explanations luckily because here in Europe, the manual transmission is like standard and it is actually mandatory to learn how to drive a car with manual transmission at driving school. Needless to say, I'd choose Manual over Automatic any day.
+Vylkeer It's very sad that obsolete crap is "standard" here. And no, it's not mandatory to learn it. You can get licence only for automatic cars. Don't forget to reply how manly you are when driving manual and how connected with car you are.
pakan357 I was describing Italian laws, maybe it varies from country to country. Obsolete crap? You don't understand anything about driving then, Automatic is the real crap.
+pakan357 that's a different thing you idiot. Of course I prefer electric windows but when it comes to driving I want fucking Manual Transmission, you gotta be a girl to think it that way or you must be someone terrible at driving, that's why you love so much Automatic. Automatic is not something more advanced, it's made for people who don't care about driving, but just care to go from point A to B. I'm not one of those.
+Vylkeer Or for people who don't like to play with penis-shaped object while driving. Damn! Now I realized that all manual transmission drivers are gay!
+Amanda herod No worries! Try letting the clutch out a little slower and adding more gas at the same time. Depending on the car it may not have a lot of power to roll forward with just the clutch as easily as the corvette does. You'll get em next time
+Street Speed 717 It's a 2013 Dodge Challenger. I took it for a ride today and I did okay. I stalled a few times lol but I am getting used to it. Thanks for the help 😊
+Mishotaki It's not that I was trying to sell you the video, I was just explaining some of the reasons why driving a manual is still something cool to learn even in a world where they are becoming more rare. Many people have found the video to be very helpful and a well rounded look at driving a manual car, I'm sorry you didn't enjoy but thank you for watching.
@@deacondank6249 Use throttle but not too many, your best way to truly get the car to move is moving the rpms up to 2,000, and then let off the clutch slowly until you feel it dipping and you will then feel movement you’ll know, the Tachometer will also tell you and how it will do that is the rpm gauge will go down a little and then it starts to move so keep practicing don’t give up man, also Motion will tell you and you know if you got it right if you feel motion and keep doing that until 5 mph 10 km/h, and then accelerate and it will go, simple just concentrate and don’t be nervous, I struggled as well at first but after a while it becomes second nature.
So I bought an '94 Integra as my first car. It has Enzo R racing seats w/ harnesses, exhaust, and NRG wheel. Maybe some other mods. Didn't even know how to drive stick. I basically just watched a shit ton of manual videos before hand. Had a few tips from family who drives stick. But only one person got in the car w/ me and he drove. I basically drove it around the parking lot and stalled a bunch. Couldn't take it home that day because I wasn't comfortable driving on streets. Someone took it home for me. But the next day I just drove it around the block a bit and said fuck it. Drove it to work. Stalled a few times, held up traffic a little. But on the way back I didn't stall at all. It's so much fun and has got way easier. People look at me crazy walking around w/ my steering wheel. I've been stoked the passed few days. Despite the accidental burnouts I'm in love. She pulls hard. This video did help a bit though
Bought a 2000 Mustang, stick shift. I've never driven a stick but I've been riding motorcycles for years.... Got in the car, didn't stall once. Makes driving so much more fun.
The difficult part for most is starting off in 1st. Just about every car I've driven has its own 1st gear roll on temperament. I wonder why car manufacturers haven't figured out how to make that roll on easier and reduce stalling. Starting on a hill is also something to practice. You can't roll back far if a car's behind you.
“It’s like jumping in a pool if you don’t know how to swim worst case scenario your drowned or wreak the car “ I had to pause the video and rethink buying a manual 😂😂
Isn't it because that's 99% of what they have over there? I have friends from Scotland and when he and his 70 something year old mother visited us in the states she was absolutely terrified of driving an automatic, but at the same time she's terrified of a lot of things...
They are garbage. Mercedes' engineers were too stupid to realize that you're not supposed to make brake pads that DON'T cover the whole surface of the rotor. BMW engineers were too stupid to realize that you need an oil dip stick to check oil, not a stupid computer that can go bad at any time. They're also both too stupid to add way too much plastic parts under the hood. The plastic parts will just go bad in less than 10 years due to heat from the engine. There's a reason why the resale value of Eurotrash is worse than a Chrysler product. Gilded garbage is all it is.
Here is how to go really fast. First gear, second gear, third, fourth, fifth, then when you are going as fast as you can quickly go into R mode which stands for race mode This is a joke btw, don’t actually do that
lol horrible autocorrects, I learned to drive manual next to the dealership the next day watching vehicle virgins and this video for about an hour the ride home was something else ... lol
AyoNate Halfway to redline, or between 3500-4000rpm is a good spot to upshift (e.g. from 4th-5th gear). Putting it simply, if you don’t shift gears you’re gonna be redlining while you pick up zero speed 😂😂😂

In the UK we all drive manual cars, and over here at least you never ever drive in neutral. You have no control over the car and would instantly fail your driving test for it. When you're stopping the car you can slow right down by braking in any gear and then put the clutch in to prevent stalling at the last moment - you'll be able to feel when you need to put it in. Then when stationary you go into either neutral or first gear ready to move off again, depending on how long you will be stationary.
+crazydave2580 Brakes are much easier to replace than clutches. It's best to just put the car into neutral when you come to a stop (because the clutch doesn't get worn out), but if you're intent on downshifting when stopping, try to rev-match into each gear. :)
+Haseeb Khalid yeah I'll throw a video up on my channel if you wanna watch out. Probably would be tomorrow night. It's pretty cool. I'd just show the car and some revs though. I'll be too rusty to drive and video

+● Barack Obama ● not really when you'll get used to it the movement clutch gas pedal will come just as natural as breathing, you won't even need to do it slowly to get it done right
5 or 6 easy steps.
Step 1. Push in clutch.
Step 2 . Put in gear
Step 3. Floor gas
Step 4. Dump clutch
Step 5. Hold on for dear life.
Step 6. Clean under pants if your in a real car.

Fuck You You cant stall if you have full throttle and dump the clutch...

I’m not sure why I’m watching this again if I daily drive a manual 😂
Literally drove stick in bumper to bumper traffic for 2 hours, got home and watched this, which was in my recommended 😂
Been driving stick for 15 years and this video hurts my soul
@@Haze3Thousand why I'm 16 and learning and don't want bad habits so I would appreciate help
@@Haze3Thousand Or until your foot slips off the clutch accidently and you end up driving into oncoming traffic.
By far, the best instructional video on UA-cam. I’m learning stick after 27 years of automatic. God bless and thank you!

Big sad
How?
Luke Becker you don’t get it?
@@BigBossChino no i don't get it

If you have 7 neutrals it means you blew up your transmission.
Let me guess - New York
Milos Todorovic or maybe Atlanta 🤷🏾♂️
John Young probably Cali 😂 65mph here means if we all go 80mph they can’t get us.
that's how everyone drives in florida where I live lmao

Me watching this after my dad got frustrated with me from stalling and yelled at me 🥰
I dont care that this video is 4 years old. Still the most helpful tutorial on UA-cam. I am feeling way more confident now. Thanks Street Speed!
I agree
Yeah I have 4 years till I can drive and this helps
I watched an 11 year old video and it helped me more than any of these 😂

You wanna know how I learned to drive stick? When I bought my second car, I had to teach myself on one very scary and lonely trip from Fort Worth TX to the other side of Dallas.
McKinney TX
Teach me
BeepBoppingCherries What you take I-30? If i have seen you stalling I would have pulled over and helped and taught you.
Smoketastic7 can you teach me how to drive a stick shift, in I'm Carrollton??
The thing is, is once you get going it's not that hard, but when starting, it's horrible.
When I have kids, I will only get them maunal vehicles. Prevents texting and driving. Not fully, but mostly. I want my kids safe!
That One Yokel

There are only two reasons I prefer manual over automatic: 1. I feel more connected to the car. 2. I like to show off.
Young Jae is the otter that I love your mom seems awesome
Did we ask?

The only reason I wanna learn manual is cause 1 ( it feels like a shill I should know) and 2 manual mustangs sell for less and ya boi works at Walmart
SuperStar Boy solid reason
@@RacoonEggMcoc and cause it looks satisfying
The one thing i’m scared of with driving a manual is being at a stop light and someone it behind you on a hill and you accidentally roll back before you start moving and crash
I worry about that in an automatic honestly
Yeah, don’t put it in neutral like this guy said, leave it in gear and there will be something holding your car back from flying away if you get rear ended
U learn clutch control and it’s not a problem
Apply handbrake, find the clutch biting point, slowly up increase revs you'll be reet as rain 👍
Now tell me about how you roll your windows down with a crank.
Lol. "7th gear". Right when I thought I was afraid of a car with 5 gears.

+Street Speed 717 thanks 😊😊
+Street Speed 717 well I didn't do too well lol 😢
+Amanda herod No worries! Try letting the clutch out a little slower and adding more gas at the same time. Depending on the car it may not have a lot of power to roll forward with just the clutch as easily as the corvette does. You'll get em next time
+Street Speed 717 It's a 2013 Dodge Challenger. I took it for a ride today and I did okay. I stalled a few times lol but I am getting used to it. Thanks for the help 😊
You must have good shoes

+Mishotaki It's not that I was trying to sell you the video, I was just explaining some of the reasons why driving a manual is still something cool to learn even in a world where they are becoming more rare. Many people have found the video to be very helpful and a well rounded look at driving a manual car, I'm sorry you didn't enjoy but thank you for watching.
+Street Speed 717 totally changing the subject I wonder how hard e-drifting in that car is (not like you would)with that e-brake XD
+AlexD-GTR Corvette's got so much power you can drift with just horsepower. Don't need that e-brake like a Ford or Tuner.

Hoooooooowww tho? I'm struggling so hard rn...
@@deacondank6249 She probably ran thru the steps in her mind...and practiced them .......before getting in the car.
Wasn't a Mazda I bet. lol
Bro Ima buy mine on Monday I'm so excited!! Good luck stay safe

Man this is exactly why I wanna get a manual. I keep hearing there's no greater driving experience a person can have
how much u selling her for ? where u from?
Me watching this a dozen times after impulsively salvaging a classic 👁👄👁💧
Bought a 2000 Mustang, stick shift. I've never driven a stick but I've been riding motorcycles for years.... Got in the car, didn't stall once. Makes driving so much more fun.
Maybe because it's a similar concept
DreadHeadDecarlo ee
I’ve driven a dirt bike that was manual but it’s been a while so idk how I’ll do
That makes me feel better, I've been on a motorcycle for years so if it transfers over easy then that's good
The difficult part for most is starting off in 1st. Just about every car I've driven has its own 1st gear roll on temperament. I wonder why car manufacturers haven't figured out how to make that roll on easier and reduce stalling. Starting on a hill is also something to practice. You can't roll back far if a car's behind you.

Pretty much yeah 😂
Who gives a shit not like you're getting paid to drive manual
Isn't it because that's 99% of what they have over there? I have friends from Scotland and when he and his 70 something year old mother visited us in the states she was absolutely terrified of driving an automatic, but at the same time she's terrified of a lot of things...
manual is pretty common in some areas of america. like i live in hawaii and tons of people have manuals.

+oddball0045 A fast car is not always a good car. :)
+oddball0045 Not to mention Eurotrash is literally trash. European cars are horrendously unreliable. I'd only get one if I made way more money.
Dude. You're just in love with american cars. Its ok.

Not only driving manual, but TEACHING manual AND TRYING TO RECORD IT?!?!? This guy is a god... what a mad lad
when do you decide to change the gears and why is my question
AyoNate Halfway to redline, or between 3500-4000rpm is a good spot to upshift (e.g. from 4th-5th gear). Putting it simply, if you don’t shift gears you’re gonna be redlining while you pick up zero speed 😂😂😂
Think about when an automatic would shift. Honestly the car tells you when it needs another gear. It’s a “feel” thing.
you can hear it
1) When the engine is revving so high you think it will explode. 2) Because if you don't it will.

at least you saved few hundreds buck
In the UK we all drive manual cars, and over here at least you never ever drive in neutral. You have no control over the car and would instantly fail your driving test for it. When you're stopping the car you can slow right down by braking in any gear and then put the clutch in to prevent stalling at the last moment - you'll be able to feel when you need to put it in. Then when stationary you go into either neutral or first gear ready to move off again, depending on how long you will be stationary.
+Lauren Wood They can off with that noise.. Premature clutch wear/throwout bearings...
I do the same with braking. Except downshifting seems to be more effective to save your breaks while you're slowing down
+Texarmageddon the clutch will be just fine...
+crazydave2580 Brakes are much easier to replace than clutches. It's best to just put the car into neutral when you come to a stop (because the clutch doesn't get worn out), but if you're intent on downshifting when stopping, try to rev-match into each gear. :)
