- Since I've done a studio/home office tour before, I thought I'd zero in more specifically on my desk setup. As you'll see, it's a very modern minimal desk setup and one that's maximized for productivity while working from home. It's a true workspace so it can tend to get cluttered from time to time but for this desk setup tour, I've neatened things us just a bit... Enjoy!

As always, great video, Brian! I wish I could keep my desk as clean as you do. Being a musician who is forced to work from home now, because of corona, I have just way to many things on my desk right now... My trumpet, MIDI Keyboard, microphone etc. Stay healthy!

Apple is the king of design. With that being said, you’d possibly benefit from large dual monitors. Also, the new I-Pad coming out with it’s respective keyboard/stand may end up poaching sales of Apple’s laptops and desktop computers. Great video, as always.
I don't really need all that screen space for what I'm doing mostly. I've thought about a bigger monitor, but the 21.5" is just about right for me.
@@hespokestyle Brian, you may want to consider upgrading the hard drive from mechanical to SSD. The machine and program startups will be much faster. Also, if that is the original drive, good chance it may fail sooner rather than later! If you are a DIY kind of guy, there are tutorials on how to do it. If not, I'm sure a shop close by could assist you.
Your workspace area is very well organized and looks as if its design will assist you tackle your daily/weekly projects, etc. I’m curious if there are any changes you might consider making to your work area? I.e., standing desk?, extra monitors, etc. I’m not suggesting you need to make any changes, I’m just curious if you think you might benefit from any design changes? I got some good ideas while watching this production. Thanks for sharing this info...Ed
Brian - Desk (Strut) Question: Would you please comment on the "cross support braces" that run width and diagonally underneath the table - do your legs hit it regularly, do you have to sit off-center (which it appears you do), etc. to not have those supports be an issue? Love the desk otherwise but those are a concern. Thanks. Great work bud - keep it up!
Have never had that issue. If you stretch your legs out, your feet will touch the crossbar on the ground, but it's wide enough that the support braces don't come anywhere near your legs.
Nice setup! However if you're not editing videos the extra ram won't make your Mac faster (unless you like to open 30 browser tabs)

Hey Brian have you seen the Rolex Oyster Perpetual ref. 116000? It's the "white grape" dial. I think it's pretty cool, I never new they made a watch with a dial that color till yesterday

your chair doesn't need introduction. that is the most generic looking office chair that you can found in almost every furniture store. functional and clean looking. i got the same one!

I've thought about purchasing a MacBook laptop for quite some time but the cost is far too much! Does anyone know if any Macbooks are around the $300-$400 range?
With that budget you wont get a MacBook. I would even up the budget for a Windows machine. If you like minimalist design look into the huawei matebooks.
Not sure you're going to to find one--even refurbished--for that price.
I want to recommend the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air, maybe a used one if you really have to stick to this price point. I do all my work (Premiere Pro, Lightroom etc.) on my Mi Notebook Pro GTX and it is great for the price. In comparison to Apple Macbook (my reference is the Macbook Pro 2018):
+Way better keyboard on the Xiaomi
+Fingerprint scanner is faster
+No useless touch bar
+Way more ports (but still also USB-C)
+Build Quality is even better (a tad at least)
-Apple has the WAY better screen
-Apple uses Thunderbolt 3
All in all, I get why many people love Apple and the ecosystem is indeed superb. But I believe that if you take a bit more time, research more and compromise here and there on software, you can even get a better product for way less money. This especially applies to Macbooks, Airpods and iPhones, while I think that there is nothing that really compares to the iPad.

I work from home, but no one sees me. :) My desk consists of my laptop sitting on the flat pillow in my lap while I am stretched out on my sofa.
