  • Hi everyone, welcome back! This week I’m celebrating the Full Moon with a little candle ritual, making my own relaxing bath salts, as well as picking up a few witchy bits and bobs from my favourite shop and making some pretty gifts. I hope you enjoy what I got up to!
I visited Curious Goods, The Shambles, Chesterfield.

I’m a fifty something witch in the U.S., and I’m so grateful to have found your channel. I live in a very conservative small town, and am completely solitary in my practice. So channels like yours have become a lifeline to others like me, and a source of inspiration for me. Thank you for sharing your practice with us. Blessed be. 💜

I am so happy to find another witch practitioner of a similar age. I have been practicing for near 20 years, in varying degrees of intensity. I love the simple and beautiful way you celebrate the full moon. One of the things I do fairly consistently is create moon water and charge my crystals. And of course, go out and speak to her. Looking forward to seeing more of you
Sending healing blessing to you and your husband.

Laurie I am so very happy that you are here! Thank you so much for your kind words. I sometimes think that simple is best because when something becomes overly complicated it sucks the joy out of it somewhat. Making moon water is so lovely ☺️
Thank you so much for your kindness and blessed be xxx

Its amazing how our practises changes as we get older, and simplicity is the way I’ve gone. Im 62 and are now more connected to the crone who brings me tremendous grounding and connection to the earth mysteries. I have never felt so comfortable with myself and my goddess spirituality. My lunar practises are more reflective and I love using my tarot and oracles as focus points, with simple sympathetic candle, herb and stone magicks. I love your channel, and your craft is soft and feminine and I love that.

It’s so lovely to hear about your practice, thank you so much for sharing it with us. I completely agree with the ‘simplicity’ thing! If the intent is there, you still get the result! I think you come to understand that as you get older and your Craft evolves. I am so honoured that you are here. Thank you so much for watching ♥️

Another lovely and cozy video! Thank you for sharing!
As you were discussing the selenite and water, it occurred to me that you had some selenite placed in your salt bowl by your front door, didn’t you? Maybe I’m misremembering the bowl - but I just wanted to mention that sometimes salt pulls water from the air. I’m not sure how much water it would take to damage the selenite, but I thought I’d just mention it! (Likewise, if you have one, you may find pink salt lamps occasionally “sweat” for this reason; so be mindful if you have anything nearby that could be affected! (I ruined a nice dresser surface with mine, it seems! 😅 I should have known!)

My salt lamp used to sweat like crazy in our old apartment! We had a lot of trouble with damp in that place. It seems to be fine here though. My selenite is doing ok too but thank you very much for the tip! 🥰

Another wonderful, comforting and informative video Alison. I have always felt a strong connection to the moon, my mum has a wonderful story about me as a small child suddenly crying in the back of the car, when she asked me what's wrong my response was "mum, it's bad, the moon is broken" 😢 it was actually the clouds covering part of the moon but to my mind it was a devastatingly end of the world situation! Still now I find it fascinating that it has no light of its own yet can shine so brightly, and look so different from one day to the next. This is definitely an event I would like to celebrate when I feel ready to start practising myself. Thank you for your inspiration 🙏❤

I love the shop you visit. I'd never come out! I always feel calm in shops like that. LOVE your witch bells. ❤ I have never thought of putting bicarbonate of soda in with the herbs and salt. Makes absolute sense now. My nan put bicarbonate of soda in everything.... I have been drawn to bees lately. I've been incorporating them in a junk journal.

That's a great question! You can either grind up your ingredients very finely (you could use a spice grinder or coffee grinder) or you could place a few tablespoons of the mixture into a piece of muslin fabric which you'd then tie into a little bundle before placing into your bath water. That way you get all the benefits of the ingredients without them actually going down the drain!

I love the moon so much & look for it every night it's supposed to be visible. I feel so connected to the moon in a way that I can't really put into words, but then the majority of Witch folk feel that special love for the moon as a representation of the Goddess. I refer to Her as the Moon Mother. It's like waiting for an old friend to visit as you watch for the moon to rise at night. 🌛
Stunning Witch bells & that spell bottle is a work of art! I giggled at the bit where you mentioned George getting into the valerian. Familiars: sometimes they help, sometimes not so much! 😺 Oh, and I almost forgot:: would you happen to have any advice on how to dry roses? I usually always have a vase of them on one of my nightstands & when they wither, I take them into the woods & lay them at the base of a tree with a thank you for all the beauty & joy they provided me, thus returning them to the earth. I'd love to keep petals & bits to use as spell ingredients, but I am so clueless how to dry them out. Any help is massively appreciated!

    • @fifty-somethingwitch2406
      @fifty-somethingwitch2406  2 місяці тому

Thank you so much for your lovely comment ☺️
I always gently pull the petals off my roses as soon as they start to ‘turn’ and I spread them on kitchen paper and just leave them in a warm place to dry. That’s pretty much it! I do sometimes like to hang a small bunch (no more than 3 or 4) upside down to dry on my hallway altar but I don’t think this is the best way, although it looks very pretty! But I must say your description of how you give your roses back to the earth was so beautiful it put a lump in my throat 🥺xx

@@fifty-somethingwitch2406 Oh, thank you so much for the pointers! I will give that go! Returning spent flowers & deceased plants back to Nature is a ritual that I learned from the Witch Marie Bruce. I think she wrote about it in her book Faerie Magick. If not that book, then her book on solitary Witchcraft. I could never just toss flowers & plants into a rubbish bin. Too disrespectful, in my opinion.
