Agree, it's not like Rudisha was fading too much also. But Amos probably wasn't as fatigued (100% maxed out at the last bend) as the others, so he closed like a madman.

This was a great tactical race by Rudisha and his teammate. Having your teammate come on the outside during the climx of the race to force other opponents wide and make it difficult for them. All respect to Rudisha as the world record holder and arguably the greatest 800m runner of all time but you can't help but be amazed by the raw speed and turnover of Amos. He actually had to slow down significantly to reposition himself on the outside. Great race

I was happy to see Rudisha defend his Olympic title in 2016. Amos used to have fun sitting and kicking but that's all over now. There was some talk of Rudisha coming back but I think he's done. He's a great champion and can rest on his 2 Olympic gold's and he still has the WR.

Just looking at Rudisha now and in the Commonwealth games, ever since his injury he's lost a lot of muscle and got more fat, his legs look much thicker than before. Hopefully he can get back to form and hit near the 1.42s again. By far the most graceful runner i've seen in my life.

Very slow time, could have been anyone's race especially on a sprint finish as they still had some gas left. Usually Rudisha drains them out of all their reserves from early on and finishes alone unchallenged.
