What a beautiful job you do with Tundra! She’s living the life every dog dreams of :) I really enjoyed watching you guys prepare her breakfast and dinner... Who needs “FARMERS DOG” brand of food when Mom & Dad cooks like this for her! 😍❤️
I am an American Staffordshire Terrier person, butnhabe always had big dogs like Akitas, Rottweilers, and Chow chows. I recently rescued a gsp from someone who got into some trouble. We realized there was a small puppy left in a cage in the home. I did not know what type of dog it was until a relative said it was a gsp. She was very small (like 16-17 lbs) at 5.5-6 months when I got her, but she easily adapted. She is now about 6.5-7 months and about 29-30 lbs. She is catching up, but the vet thinks she will still be small. She is a very smart little puppy. I live in a rural area.and my backyard is on about .75 acres. She is starting to dig a bit, and I believe it is because she is smelling rabits and squirrels. I was told by someone that these dogs are used now in airports as bomb sniffing dogs. Their sense of smell is very keen. I was reading an article about them. They put a small drop of explosive material in a large swimming pool to see if the gsp would pick up the scent.,.The Gsp detected it. I am now really attached to her, and I would not want to part with her. She is playing hard with my 70 lb amstaff and not afraid . Thjs is my first experience with them, but Gsps are definitely a keeper. ❤
We have a 10 yr old Pitt/GSP and she is the most loving dog! She is still full of happy exuberance and seems like she will never slow down. Not for a minute!
Wow, just going back through your videos and seen that I missed this one. Its so typical of them, to always be involved in whatever you are doing. 💜🐾🐾🐾
Just got mine today as a surprise from my fiancé. Her name is Lucy. Also I know exactly where you guys are at, I used to look at the mountain right of the strip every morning when I woke up.
4:41 GSP always have to be where their humans are. If it means getting up off your comfy couch and going upstairs to follow you, they'll do it every time.
Tundra is beautiful, I’m a bird dog fan too. I have a Weimaraner named Spork. They’re so animated, smart and communicate better than any other dogs I’ve ever known. Bless up.
GSPs are one of the biggest shedding breeds, and it's a year-round thing for them; not just seasonally (note the steady use of a vacuum here). Something to consider before you get one. They also require a ton of attention. You can see where Tundra needs to be involved in all the daily chores. They are very energetic, requiring lots of exercise; not the type of dog that sleeps in the corner all day. Great family dogs, though. Very loving and protective - and goofy as all get-out. Will keep you laughing.
What type of gps/tracking collar is that? I would love to know how much ground mine covers, especially at the lake, where depending on weather we are quadding or snowmobiling. They are amazing athletes and I find when they look in your eyes they are really looking into your soul!
it is so very good that you make home food for Tundra! My GSP had so many problems because of kidney failure at the end of his life, probably because of dry feeding (or so I was told by the vet)
We keep all leftover meat and veggies for our GSP..We had a Griffon towards the end of her life that's all we fed her her fav was Brussel sprouts! Our GSP definitely has a mind of his own and we own a SUPER VACUMN.!

She didn’t want you tucking her in in her blanket 😂telling you ours don’t really growl but our first gsp we had she would do tht .
She has been good at waiting for guidance and likes to snuggle when she is cold and tired. She usually growls at her mom 😂 because she is usually tucking her in. She gets easily annoyed when she is tired and isn’t scared to show it. Luckily, no cats around the area but i’m sure she will definitely chase them. They are so funny and cute 🤣 🥰
@@tundrathegsp yea thy certainly are funny and 🥰 cute . Once you have had one u wouldn’t be with out we use to only have one but now we have to have 2 they are very adorable I would love more if we had lots of room . I sometimes look at ones needing homes 😢 so sad
We cannot wait to get Tundra a sibling. Would love to adopt some as well later on in the future when we have a big yard. There are so many in the shelters. It’s sad.
Had two of these. Used them for Grouse hunting and pulling sleds while skiing. They are really strong and confident dogs. Definitely not a "beginners" dog. My mother got bossed around by one of them because he came to the conclusion that he was over here in the pecking order.
I miss my GSP, he was 15 years old when I had to put him down, he had some serious problems at that point, but he was the love of my life, I wish I could get another one, they want thousands of dollars for them in Michigan. He will be 2 March 23rd & is getting A LOT better. This week I was able to leave the house for THREE hours & he was a perfect angel!
She used to eat and chew up everything. Bed, toys, sheets…you name it. We had to correct her and she finally understood that she wasn’t supposed to do that. Tundra and your GSP is almost the same age. She’s 1 year and 7 months. Great job on your end. He seems well taken cared of.
@@tundrathegsp I searched everywhere for a “nooking blanket” thinking there would be such a thing (in my mind a little tougher to chew up while they nooked) but to my surprise I did not find anything close. Someone should make one & sell it because we would of definitely bought one for him 😅
My GSP had one side of his heart larger than the other side, born with it that way, so they said he would only live til 10 years old, but he lived til 15 and I could not get him put out to have his teeth cleaned with his bad heart so eventually at 15 his gums started bleeding and he bled so bad I had to put him down. He went down fast when it started.
