I have the 395 LM too and for the life of me cannot get my own routes created in Basecamp to upload. I even tried other peoples gpx files that are proved right and they don't upload either. I'm doing something wrong. Do you know how to upload gpx files into the 395LM?
We mounted them to the dash using the hardware, mount, and wiring harness that was provided with the GPS. It's quick and easy to do, just a few bolts and that's it. Garmin does include two different options for wiring. A wiring harness to connect directly to the batter, and a simple 12V cigarette charger. It's very quick and easy to mount this GPS and wire it to the battery. The most time consuming part was taking off the gas tank and plastics to route the wires.
First I want to start off by stating that we are not sponsored by them and receive nothing by doing these reviews. They are solely our opinions, and our true opinions at that! This GPS is flat out awesome. We went on an adventure a few weeks back from Northeaster Wisconsin out to Colorado. We really could not have had a better GPS to take along. Some of the pros that we found are that it notifies you of any upcoming speed changes, railroad tracks, and sharp curves. We also have had to use the motorcycle specific applications (twice) which saved us a lot of hassle. We were down with a bad leaking rear tube and tire on our Colorado adventure. We were able to tap a few options and we soon had a list of the nearest Kawasaki dealerships so we could get it fixed. The nearest gas station feature also comes in handy once in a while... On another note, a really cool feature is when the GPS detects that you have been riding for an extended period of time it will give you a popup on the side (so it doesn't cover up the map) asking if you need a break. It then lists out a few of the nearest amenities like gas stations and restaurants. One of the big worries everyone's reviews touched on for these was that the font was way too small to read. My vision is nowhere perfect, but in the daylight on a rough trail I can read this GPS just fine. We honestly couldn't really find any negatives with this GPS, other than it being around the $400 mark. It is definitely highly recommended by us!
Winker Motorcycle Adventures thank you sir. It and the TOm Tom where the only Motorcyle gps systems available on a program where I had some “ free points” to get one of them. Your review was helpful. I ordered the Garmin. Have a great day.
I don't think you'll regret getting the Garmin 395LM! After getting it and becoming familiar with it, feel free to tag your review onto this so others can get more than just our review!

How did you mount it do the dash? Did you hardwire the Garmin mount to the battery?
