So, I enlisted as an MA and ship out in a few weeks. I'm going to go for K9 when given the opportunity. So now the question: I always keep getting told by the old vets about me going on Sea Duty and ships, etc. As K9, will I get the same Sea/Shore rotation as regular MA's, or will I be a landlubber for my time in the Navy?
You're either attached to a base OR a ship. Attached to the base there's not really any reason to visit the ship and if you're on the ship and land at the base you can walk around to resupply yourself and stuff but you're just visiting.

Once you're K9 you're locked in and can't do anything else. Should be on land for that entire time.
Could you do one of these about the reserves??!
I planned to, but the second class who agreed to do it with me had problems at home and took emergency leave, so it never happened.
