You could outspeed so many opponent pokemon since it's not possible to add EV's to trainer pokemon in gen 5 even when rom hacking. Drayano added a patch to cancel all EV's from the game to balance it out, but you have to go a bit out of the way to add that, so fair enough you didn't!
Hi, I played through this myself though on Volt White 2 redux. Dewott and Samurott are Water/Fighting here and Emboar got changed to Fire/Ground type. There are a lot of cool changes here in this other than those, its a really enjoyable experience.
Thinking about it more, I think Twig is playing base blaze black 2 and not the recent redux version, not 100% sure on the changes now, ill edit for an update in a bit
There is no gen where I love all starters exactly evenly and have gigantic problems while choosing except gen 5. I don't realy think I have to say more then that.
I still remember the silly younger me who tried to download the original black and white 2 but accidentally download it thinkg it as an official version boy the gym battles were so hard that I had to grind different pokemon to certain levels to learn special moves to make strategies to beat that and finally made to the last gym battles by that Mt pokemon were pretty strong but I couldn't beat team plasma's leader and couldn't find the save file later years later I found that it was modified version of original and then I played original and I swear I enjoyed the blaze black much more and original black 2 kind of felt boring most part since the game very has less than 4 pkmn in gum battles which are usually preety weak compared to 8 demon level pokemon each gym leader has in black blaze but I wish that game freaks add more hard level gym battles to have fun either way the black blaze is fun when it's tough amd sorry for the long comment hope you have a good day.
I’m on challenge mode bb2 and my pokes typically run 20-40 levels higher than gyms… i dont really grind… just light ev and whatever hops out… what am i doing differently?

Twig Can you play Pokémon Radical Red, it just got a 3.0 update. Plus heres the twist you could only use shinies and can't use nuzlocke rules it has to be a regular playthrough.
I'm five months late but largely agree about the starters. They all have ok designs for the most part but they are pretty meh. Emboar has the awkwardness of being the third Fire/Fighting in a row, Serperior is a chore to use in-game and Samurott is a ton of wasted potential (should have stayed a bipedal otter, been either Water/Fighting or Water/Steel and have a stat spread that favors physical over special attack, also largely true for Empoleon on that note. They both have blade arms after all.) Best games for sure although Hoenn is my favorite.
Haxorus is not better lol Salamance being 100 base speed is important, can be a mixed attacker and intimidate being one of the best abilities + salamance having better HP makes it easier to set up and sweep.
