Something I agree with; $3.6 mil for Goodrow was high. Something I don’t agree with; “he did basically nothing during the regular season”. If we think back, that fourth line consistently shut down whoever they were thrown against. Other team’s first line? Shut down. On top of that, they almost always had solid zone time. NYR’s first line often struggled to gain and maintain consistent o-zone time, and would more often than not just got lucky with a good tip or a screen play. 4th line was all hustle and grit. While they didn’t generate as much offense (Vesey still knocked a few impressive ones home), Vesey and Goodrow made PHENOMENAL penalty killers (Goodrow even picking up some shorties) and a hard hitting line that made the opposition keep their heads up on a Rangers forecheck, and Goodrow himself never let his teammates get bullied without the bully having to hear about it from him. I think 4th line’s contribution gets a little overlooked after the season ended. Overpaid? Sure. Non-contributor? I would definitely argue that. Sad to see him go, but I understand it.
I agree that Drury is going to make a big splash at the trade deadline . They’ll have plenty of cap space to sign free agents where there are holes in their line up It is critical that they save 2025/6 cap space fir a Shesterkin , LaFreniere and Miller
Just think, Schneider has had almost no complaints about his play all season and the playoffs. Getting him signed to a good deal is worth it, the kid earned it. He has more potential the Rangers need to tap into.
Remember Schneider took over for Trouba when he got hurt and did a awesome job which tells us Trouba is not needed he has a better shot and is not afraid to block a shot. The fans have no choice but to accept Trouba for two seasons then he can be released.
Im all for Schneider getting what he deserves new contract/more playing time ect. Lindy on the other hand, i wouldnt sign him any more than 2 years bc of the way he abuses his body. Schneider is honestly better than lindgren the only reason you and certain fans says he’s so much more important/significant/ better is because he plays with fox but Lindgren really isn’t that good on his own Fox is the only reason he’s considered a top 4 D man Schneider is a better player and has way higher ceiling than lindgren the fact he needs to go to Arbitration just to get like 2.9 mil aav shows the team knows he’s not worth it and is not that good and very easily replaced and lindgren is most likely gonna be overpaid now which is why they shoulda traded him guy shouldn’t get a cent over 3 mil he thinks he’s owed because he plays injured all the time but really that just speaks to how injury prone he is which is yet another reason he’s not even as good as certain people say undersized bad skater bad puck mover bad shot all he does well is block shots and get crushed by bigger players which is pretty much everyone in the league
Ryan Lindgren needs to be re-signed PERIOD! With the salary cap, I'm always concerned with injuries and cap hits but he's a heart and soul guy. Anyone who wants him traded needs to explain in detail why. Jacob Trouba's contract is pretty much what priced him out of NY. Trouba's aggressive play is a liability at times and that's not worth 8 million a season. I'd love to get Tyler Motte back.
Also I agree lindgren is a player you can win with but he should be on the 3rd pair cuz fox lindgren as a top pair is not good enough I don’t care about their goals against stats Fox needs a guy who can play with him in all 3 zones not just the D zone like lindgren
This team needs real leadership. Take the C from Captain Chickenwing and give it to Aleksander Barkov. Sure, he plays for another team, but you really need someone who can lead by example.
The Rags should trade Captain Chickenwing to themselves for Mrs. Trouba, a 12th round pick, and Mark Messier. Sure it's costly but you have to give something to get something.
If the Rags can't afford Shesterkin, and who can, maybe play Rempe in goal. I mean, he's big. And I bet he can stop pucks with his face the way he stops people's fists.

Incredibly happy, Schneider will continue to improve, doesn’t take bad penalties, and he can fight. Toughness counts, especially on this team. LGR
