- New York Rangers front office should be very active this offseason in free agency, at the draft, and throughout the rest of the offseason looking to make moves to make this team better than what it was last season. Rangers are a very good team who won the Presidents Trophy last season and also made it to the Eastern Conference Finals 2 of the last 3 seasons.

Yes we need to trade Trouba. To expensive for someone who takes horrible penalties every game
Would be awesome to get that Rutger McGroarty kid somehow. We need to trade Kaako while he still has perceived value. If he has another season like last year, we won't be able to trade him for a new ice machine.
It's sad to say but Kakko barely has any value atm. He needs a decent season where we can produce more points. I've said this for a few years but after the Bread/Kakko beef a few years ago. Kakko just doesn't fit well with the Rangers and it shows in his lack of consistent production.

@@dumpybear8664 Happened like 2 or 3 years ago I believe. It got to the point where Bread basically made it public that he wanted to play with Colin Blackwell and didn't want to be on the same line with Kakko. It was just before the Kraken came into the league. To this day, they refuse to play on the same line.
Trouba was a terrible signing.
Lindgren is a 3rd pair guy on a contending team the fact that he’s been in rangers top 4 is partly why their d core has had some pretty massive holes and everyone says he’s so tough when really he just gets hurt all the time he doesnt need a raise if he wants to stay he should take less money than his contract that just ended
We have Othmann and Perreault to take Kakko's place as young forward, if Kakko goes it will be for an already experienced NHL player or Drury will get rid of him to clear cap space and not get the valued return, he's done it before. With Drury's track record he will probably get an older player or two but won't actually address the needs of the team. He said "tougher/physical " before then sent all those players away, then... decided to shop in the bargain store for a Stanley cup caliber team???
Don’t forget Brett Berard. He is tougher and feisty too

It would be sheer incompetence not to move him.
Like most of us rangers fans feel, I think he needs to ride it out on the first or 2nd line this year until they decide to do away with him. Too young, but if they decided to move on from him getting a kid like rutger would be awesome he was unbelievable to watch on team USA this year. Definitely has leadership skills at a young age

Keep: Kakko- I’m not inclined to move a defensively responsible young player with untapped talent on a reasonable contract. I’ll do it if the right move comes across (I don’t think McGroary is worth Kakko AND a 1st, at least not with Winnipeg kind of in a box and needing to deal him) but I’m not actively looking to make a move here. I would not be making offers, but I’ll listen if someone makes me one.
Shop: Lindgren. I love him as a player, but 4 mill a year for a good not great defensive defenseman seems like a luxury item. I’d definitely be open moving him and would be actively making offers. Ideally, I’m getting an NHL ready prospect or young player, but draft pick(s) could work too. I’ll be flexible in making packages. I’m okay with either moving Miller up to play w Fox or bringing in a top pairing caliber defenseman as an upgrade from Lindgren. I’m not so desperate as to have to make a move here, but if one exists I want to find it.
Deal: Trouba. I don’t like the buyout as it saddles us with dead money, but I’m also willing to package reasonable compensation to a team willing to take Trouba’s 8.5M off our ledgers.
It was just reported that Lindgren is getting an extension. Kakko is probably on the move.

Even some 12 hours after your post I’m not seeing anything about it if I google the Rangers, so…
"IF" the Rangers make a trade it's going to be a multiple player deal, which I honestly don't see happening, nor have I heard any legit rumors regarding that over the past week or two.
They are not going to trade their 1st round pick. This has be confirmed in the past by upper management.
Kakko is only 23. I don't think we should trade him just yet. Give him another year or two. He's so young they shouldn't give up on him yet
It’s time to move on.
He won’t be here past this year. It’s either we keep him this season and see what happens (be gone after the contract ends) or he gets traded before this season starts. That contract will catch eyes from proper suitors
He is only 23!!! How is it time to move on?? We gave up on Buechvich to early and look how that trade went. We need to keep kakko he's still growing as a player and he is only going to get better

I thought Mcgroarty already committed to playing with Michigan this year
I think what he did was tell Winnipeg that he would play for Michigan over sign with them, which puts them in a bad spot because after another year at Michigan he’d become a free agent. He’s too good a prospect to risk losing him for nothing, but he also loses value the longer they wait to move him (as his new team will have less of a window to convince him to sign w them before he goes back to Michigan).
@chloemchll3774 Oh, ok. I thought that they were going to have him go down to the AHL and he didn't want that. So he said he was going to play at Michigan this year. Thanks for the info
Just like the rest of the mouthpieces out there you offer very little on who the Rangers can get in return other than potential players. Youre not going to trade Trouba kakko or any other starter without real compensation. McGroarty, no way. And Othman is a farm players at this point. Huge risk. No deal No way. Get better returns and I will look, but this is raw click bait.

I would rather get Future Potential in return- like McGroarty- rather than Prima-Donnas In Ballerina Dresses like we've doing every year. ~ONE CUP IN 84 YEARS ~

No. Miller will grow into a great player while Lindgren will keep getting hurt.
