You Cant rent them out to the public, They have to have a structural engineer survey done on them first , Due to them being Steel the Electrical wiring has to be Armoured like in commercial premises, And looking at what they are doing they will not pass inspection already.
Not sure why anyone would think you planned to rent. It's always been clear this was for your family, making a dream property to escape to. It's incredible all you two have done.
Kudos for letting your kiddos “help” at an early age. Honoring their intention while their capacity is low will pay off as their capacity grows. Every ounce of energy they put into your family’s pursuits is worthy of celebration. One day you’ll turn around and that little boy will be helping you lift something that makes both your faces turn red and your muscles spasm … and when you high-five each other after it’s over, try to remember these early days without the threat of tears. Blessings-Jeff
AGREED, do NOT rent out the cabin. it would put a gps marker on the mountain property. Not only would you get the renters, it would also draw the looky loo's and people stopping by randomly "just to see". You would not have any privacy and neither would your renters. Also with trespassers you would get property damage that would end up destroying the property you hold dear. Some renters would be respectful and decent of the cabin and property but some would not. They could and would destroy all that you hold dear. Some people just want to watch the world burn. Do NOT open yourself up to that. No amount of money is worth all that headache. If you choose to do a rental property in the future, do not do it in a place that your care about. Because it will be a business venture, something that can come and go and something you can walk away from. Do not do it to something that is a part of your heart or that you hold dear.
Good morning Kinzie and Spencer. I feel your decision not to rent out the cabin is a good one. You found that mountan property and love it and it fits all your wants and desires...for you. Keeping it for you and family is wise IMO. Absolutely love the kids looking out at the rain in the vid, very special. Wishing you, Spencer and the kids a very Merry Christmas 🎄 Larry, Central Valley, Ca.
You might want to consider murphy bunk beds that could fold up and give the kiddos a place to play, plus you could paint the undersides with chalkboard paint for the kids to color on.
I remember whennthey first started doing their home containers , it was only both of them , then baby girl , was born and then baby boy ❤ And to watch them built their home with no experince and no help from no one , and watching Spencer , i learn a lot .
I and my partners bought a property a while back. The best advice we got was to enjoy it for a year plus before deciding on weather we would do any short term rentals. After a year, we knew we didn’t want to do that. We do let friends and family use it though.
you are both really great people with adorable children. I am glad that you are not going to rent out the container, It was good to see spencers little helpers, especially when Cam said " don't worry daddy I'll help you" that was so sweet. Have a wonderful Christmas and a very happy new year.
What do you think about giving one of your Patreons a chance to stay a weekend with you guys, or your cabin or something. It could be an annual event, and the winner is selected by drawing.
I can remember helping my parents. You have instilled so much self worth in those 2 young ones. A feeling of importance to the family, helping, & that they are needed will be carried down to their own families..
🎄🎅🏼 Oh, starting off that video with the two of those children are wearing a little Santa hat. You guys are the best. I know you know that but I just like to say it out loud. And they are blessed to have you both as parents. Much love and many blessings, happy holidays, and a prosperous new year to you all.
Rental property can being a lot of work and concern and hassle. Glad you are keeping it for your family. With your third child, life will be plenty busy! Happy Holidays ‼💚❤
Enjoyable to watch. We let our daughter help too. When daddy was fixing stuff in or outside our home she had her own tool chest. I am a ceramic artist and she helped me even going to shows and acting as my clerk. She is 41, child of her own. Her guy built their house himself. She still has her tool chest. Somehow all that knowledge drew her to a career as a High School science teacher. All those basic skills your children are learning mean they will have a lot of independence and good choice making skills. Thanks for the videos.
Have a fabulous Christmas and new year, you are a family that appreciate together time because your helpers are the most precious to watch. Excited for the New Year and what surprises you have in store .
Love watching and seeing how they solve their problems together. Real team work. My husband and I have always solved our situations together and there for makes us strong as a family. You guys are doing it right.
I have watched you two now going to be five, from the very beginning and Spencer never ceases to amaze me. You two are so adorable together and always overcome all obstacles with grace. You are such loving and patient parents to two beautiful kids, and I know will be the same with number 3. I am wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
We love your precious family including the 4 legged ones. Wish you all a very blessed Christmas. Hope the new year brings you great success, much joy and excellent health. God bless you on your journey 🥰🇨🇦
Love watching these guys, I wish I had recorded my build, I went with a three-story home, one story below ground, now that was an experience! But now that it's finished, the underground concrete section is double walled, and has an elevator to the other two upper floors. Lucked out by drilling a water well, it turned out to be an artesian well. I had to catch up here, while we were building and moving into our new home. Spencer, you have done an outstanding job, I mean that seriously. We do not have Natural Gas, I bought a Generac Whole Home Generator which runs off our 5,000 gallon LP gas.
Wow Spencer you are such a MacGyver guy always figuring work arounds way to go. Loved seeing the kids assisting you on your projects that is how they learn. I thought the new cabin for the mountain resort spot for you, your family and friends would not be a rental spot. Kendra smart move. The build continues and should be ready next spring to move it up to the mountain property. Thanks for bringing us all along on your journey and have a Very Merry Christmas. Have a great week and be blessed.
More progress being made, at the mercy of the weather on what can be done. Have a great Christmas and New Year with your children & the future one. Love from Mike. ❤🌲
Been with these guys from the start of their container home. Just looove your videos. Your cheeky personalities, your cute kids, and especially your dogs (cos I’m a dog person) 😉
It's always fun to watch you all mature and grow as a family. Your relationship and children are beautiful. When you are done with the mountain home, how about that barn? It looks dangerous and possibly snake infested. I would love to see yall improve on that. I worry whenever Spencer goes in there, but I am so happy when he comes out. WHEW.
That's a great decision, my family and I would certainly love our privacy as well!!! By the way, can you please share how you were able to find your mountain property? Is the a website or websites to look into mountain properties? My husband and I are also interested! Thanks in advance!
Hi, hope your having a great Christmas. When the container is being moved up to the mountain I would suggest you remove the vent and weatherproof the opening its just lending itself to be damaged during transit.
On the door trim: two pieces of smart trim, milled to half of your needed width, biscuit join to bond, butt joint is pre-sealed with the exterior glue, done.
I don’t blame you for not renting out your cabin, not in today’s world. Unfortunately too many people disrespect others property plus you would have to pack up personal stuff every time you rented it out . Plus one fire not properly doused and you could lose all , trees, home and everything you worked so hard to build. Enjoy your getaway house
Thank you, as always, for sharing! A good call to keep your mountain get-a-way a special private place, in my estimation. The insurance of renting it out might have been high. ENJOY!! ❤
Even on the road I see this notification I b line to it! Love all the kiddos! The gate with the 3 cubs so cute! I see why hiding it till y'all announced! 🌸✌️💜
Years ago my uncle and my dad developed a living area near the strip pit we boated and fished on. I completely understand why you all want to have your mountain oasis.
I’m glad you’re not renting it out. It’s what you’ve always wanted! So excited to follow along this journey. We consider y’all friends. We tell everyone about “Our friends on UA-cam!!” 😂
I have been watching you from the start. Your family has come a long way. I agree about not renting. You don’t want someone trashing your place you worked so hard on.
Merry Christmas to your whole family. Spenser is the Man. Figuring out little things that won't become big things. I also think keeping the cabin as a vacation location will be the smart move. You always run the risk of some "renter", creating a situation. The trim around the door, is a nice touch, a little shiny, but looks nice. See you next year. Happy New Year too. 2024!!
I can't wait for you guys to re do the barn so we see more of your work. I feel like I'm growing with yall since the start. I feel like I live there too. Lol
Things are coming together so great and congrats to you guys on everything and your dream property. I’ve got the mountains in the palms of my hands. . So I get it.
happy holidays y'all the lil mountain cabin is looking great I know y'all are going to have lots of memories started in there also it's great having a change of scenery every now and then 💖
Just started watching you and have been binge watching to catch up. You guys are a riot to watch. I laugh and learn at the same time! Just want to thank you for all you do! ❤
Hey friends, I don’t blame you for not wanting to rent your place out, its not all a simple thing to rent out your property. My Mom and Dad rented out houses years ago and its a constant hassle. Kinzie & Spencer great video , love seeing the children helping Dad on the project's around the cabin. Have a wonderful Christmas day together on the homestead. David B., Utah. ♥♥♥.

I don’t blame you a bit about not renting out the Mountain Cabin. I have a small cabin on my old farm that I hunt out of and I wouldn’t want other people using the place. For one, I’d have to have insurance that I don’t have now and another thing is that I wouldn’t be able to leave a lot of my stuff there that I do now...
Been watching since day one, watching your wonderful family grow! As a painter and decorator recommend you fill the drill holes around your window and door trim, will stop the screw heads rusting or rot developing if rain sits in there over time! Merry Xmas!
Well I for one am glad they're not giving up the farm property and are using the cabin build as a holiday home for themselves and eventually family and friends, I know kenz didn't use the actual words "holiday home", but you get that it was implied
What about angling the vent downward on the outside so that the pipe will have a little bit of an upward angle on the inside earlier so that your event pipe won't have such a big build-out on the inside of the ceiling. I know it's not how the vent is typically supposed to be installed, but having it tilted downwards on the outside will angle that pipe on the inside up a little bit and might give you an inch of clearance so that when you have to do your build out on it, you'll have to just do the build out enough to cover it part of the pipe instead of all of the plastic pipe before getting to the elbow. Sending it to the Erv
I agree completely! Do not rent out your property. Protect your privacy. Merry Christmas!
I 1000% agree not to rent to the public. People do not respect other people's property. Save yourself the headache.
And everybody said AMEN
You Cant rent them out to the public, They have to have a structural engineer survey done on them first , Due to them being Steel the Electrical wiring has to be Armoured like in commercial premises, And looking at what they are doing they will not pass inspection already.
I knew I would see replies like this, to this topic. There is far, far, more concerning this issue than this alone. Far more.
Are you two for real??? Patient parents, supportive spouses, and killer handyman skills. Love watching.
They are real. If you are new to their page you will fell in love really quick.
I agree! They were the first channel i started watching on UA-cam years ago! I was hooked.
Yeah my first subscription!I know knot from whence they came in terms of recommendation but it’s been great!
Not sure why anyone would think you planned to rent. It's always been clear this was for your family, making a dream property to escape to. It's incredible all you two have done.
I recall them mentioning it once themselves.
