Thx a lot, it was just as simple as possible. Now with this video I feel more comfortable to do it myself. If you can make a video showing how to remove and replace a tyre, it would be great 👍🏻
how important is to suspend the brake calipers so that they dont just hang off the hose when you take off the front wheel? I know on a car that's a very big NO NO, but on a bike, the caliper is smaller and less heavy... I changed my tyres on my R1250 GS and the mechanic didn't bother suspending the calipers even though I told him he should do so.
To be honest sometimes I do and sometimes I don’t. Mostly depends on how long before I put the calipers back on. The calipers do not weigh much so there isn’t much stress. Thanks for the comment!
Useful, thanks, but some more elaboration about why you do certain things would be better. For example, why re-attach the calipers first before inserting the axle, and why do you use a marker.
@@PacMoto thanks much! I did my first tire swap and forgot to check for spacers after pulling the wheel. Then when I went to put it back on and saw only one spacer..
does anyone know what is the Product # for the Spacer? i accidentally lost it and now not able to locate the Product# for it, i have a 2016 GSA , any response will be much appreciated.
@@PacMoto Very clever. I’m definitely going to use that. In fact, I was just changing some highway pegs from a K1600 to a GS and realized half of them were loose snd one was missing. Would have been able to tell straight away while cleaning way before I lost a bolt using your trick. Thanks for coming back to me.
@@PacMoto Off-road riding really shakes everything loose, so I’m not surprised. There are so many important bolts too. I’m almost tempted to take your little trick and do every single part of the bike I can find!

Finally, a front wheel R&R video that mentions the axle spacer! Big thanks
I thought I had lost it when I took my wheels in for new tires. Now I watch for it carefully.
Easy Peasy. Your Baja tour looks great! I'm not new to touring, but I am new to riding big bikes off-road, so maybe next year!
Glad it worked for you! Both Baja trips are on-road tours, except when there is a detour due to construction. I hope you join us sometime!

Next time I replace a tire I will make a video. Thanks for watching.
Super pomocne. Dziękuję. Zrobiłem wszystko jak ty. Działa. Pozdrawiam.
Thank you for the feedback!
Thank you very much! Greetings from Germany!😊
You are welcome.
The spacer is only on one side?
Yes, there is only a spacer on one side.
Great video, I needed this one, thanks!😊
Thanks!
Do know if there is a maintenance manual available to buy?
None that I am aware of for the 1250.
Excelent explanation...👏👏👏
Well thank you.

@@PacMoto thanks!
could you please share the brand for permanent markers, looks great ! I am over and over looking your videos are great !
I got mine at an auto parts store. Here is an example on Amazon: a.co/d/0YYSoG6
Where do you find the Castrol Molub grease? Cannot find it online.
Thanks
I think I bought it on Amazon or eBay. It lasts a very long time.
YouI forget to pump the brake to bring the pads closer. Be careful.
Yes, that is important before you take off. Thanks for the comment!
I'd remove the wheel speed sensor to avoid damaging it when putting the wheel back on.
That’s a thought. However, I think the screw that holds the cable in place is on the inside.
Is that pen used to be able visually detect any of the boots walking themselves out?
Lol!
@@PacMoto Damn autocorrect. I meant ‘bolts’.
Yes, I do that so a quick glance tells you if a bolt/nut is moving!

Dave - I appreciate the constructive feedback. You make a very good point and I will explain better in future videos. Thanks!
so you're going to film another video to explain why you re-attach the calipers first before inserting the axle, and why you use a marker? smh
Thanks for the comment. I’ve had similar feedback so I need to make a new video!
Güzel video nm değerleri yazman çok faydalı oldu.🎉
Is there no spacer on the non-abs ring side?
No, the spacer is on the left side only.

Thanks for this
You’re welcome.
Correct placement of spacer @ 4:38.
Why did you mark the bolts?
Good question! I mark them so I can quickly tell if any bolt is starting to loosen. You can get the marking pen at an auto parts store.
