Feel free to critique each landing. My favorite is #15 15 Tough Landings during the storm on January 16th 2019 at the San Francisco International Airport.
I remember that day well...could actually feel my house shift with the strongest of gusts! Nice video...everyone remember to thank your flight crews on the way out. They earn it!
Back in the early 90's, I was watching from the SFO tarmac. Planes were landing into a rare East wind, circling around the mountains and having to drop altitude pretty quick. Crosswinds were hammering them. It was scary to watch, to be honest. Nearly all of them had to touch and go and try again.
Thanks for this video. Yes, I don't recall that exact storm, but that winter in general, in January/February. Really the last rainy winter we had here in the Bay. And we had the gall to complain about how rainy it was. We're so spoiled here in the Bay Area!! Our weather is fantastic, compared to most of the rest of the country.
Thank you for noting the distance, Some of the landings were more "interesting" but the wind was pushing the camera around too much, and made the video unwatchable.
Great video... I am sure glad that I was not a passenger in any of those planes. Some of them looked like they were toppling over any minute. Watching this makes you swear off flying! Thanks though for sharing.
I don’t mind flying and I’ve flown to SF many times. I will NOT look out the window when we’re landing. You are so close to the Pacific that I swear you can taste it lol
Michael O'Leary from Ryanair charges extra for these types of landings. If any part of the aircraft falls off while heavy landing that is charged to your credit card as well. You really have to read the fine print with Ryanair.
Nice video! Are you able to get a time stamp on when #5 was. I'm almost 100% certain that was my landing. If it was about 2:15PM then it was. Would love to know for sure! Thanks!
It looks like it was about 2:05 pm if the clock is correct on my camera. # 5 was SkyWest 5537 Here is the raw video from clearance to land to handoff to ground. ua-cam.com/video/X2-b9qWgSnk/v-deo.html
@@wcolby 5537 touched down in SFO at 3:55PM Local time. So based on your time stamp then, the time stamp on your camera if you did film us it would be 2:15PM on your camera as I landed 19L at SFO as SkyWest 5319 at 2:15PM Local time, 1 hour and 40 minutes before 5537. It would be cool if you happen to have it. Either way, love your videos!
Not sure why they had those guys coming in on Runway 28. The waves are clearly coming from the southeast. They should have been using Runway 19. But then, what do I know?
I think this is a great video & I want to make it popular. I give google $1 every other day to advertise the video so people will watch it and realize it's a good video, comment on it and then subscribe to my channel. thus making me more than $1 every other day, its business. I hope this explains what is happening and that you understand it.
Back in the olden days, you could go to the top of the Millbrae BART parking garage and shoot with a telephoto lens the arrivals on the ones. But they have built apartments recently, and you can no longer see the airport there.
@wcolby thank you for your reply . It seems like the best view nowadays would have been on top of the rental car building but now that is not accessible. It's almost like they make it absolutely impossible on purpose to not get a good view unless you have an amazingly good lens
@@coffeedad31 this lens is a broadcast lens that ball parks at about 1600 mm so it was quite the zoom lens and even though the airport has opened up the terminal viewing area you have to shoot through 4 inches of non-optical glass.
This is shot from the BART parking garage with a very long lens, unfortunately now there are apartment buildings that have been built to block the view.
Not sure why this is an ad, but okay.
They crazy
I agree, #15. Holy cow, when the backend lifted up, just wow.
Still there’s that one passenger go “I’ll never fly this airline anymore! Rough landing!” 🙄
4:00 me in Infinite Flight with max winds😂😂
Ooh, 15 was a doozie!
speede541 That was my favorite too and thanks for watching till the end.
It reminded me of being a kid and slamming on the front brakes of your bike to do a back wheelie.
Why am I watching this on the day before I fly out of KSFO??? 🙄
Because u locked up sfo landings
Well none crashed
I remember that day well...could actually feel my house shift with the strongest of gusts!

I get the feeling this would easily be over 1 million views soon.
1:00 "We're gonna die!"
1:09 "have we landed yet?"
And all these are still smoother than a RyanAir landing!
1:01 that nose pitch tho...
FirstOfficerShami those crjs have no leading edge slats, they approach nose down strangely enough
ironically the touch down was very soft.
@@floex831 extremely impressive, i dont understand how everybody isnt talking about it
Huge thanks for recording and for sharing!

Very nice capture! I was driving home from work that day from Berkeley to San Jose and it was crazy windy!
Best pilots ever. This was tough!
this what every landing feel like
I used to go to Coyote point to watch them approach in bad weather..best vantage point and add beers!..
My fav are 12,14,15

Damn, that wind shear on the first one is insane!
Outstanding 👍👍 great job especially from that distance

Must had been one hell of a flight.

I liked Aer Lingus
Very catch video new friend! Thank for sharing! Greeting from Vietnam.
Ohhhhhh oohh HELL NAWW!!
Yeah last one was a clencher!
No, not full thrust! Reverse thrust!
Awesome! Thanks for this! :)
Parabéns 👏👏👏

I just got off of SFO airlines on June 13 that’s crazy
is there any kind of report made or checks done after a landing like these? or are they considered completely normal and expected?
Crazy cool

Wow! Landing like these make me pee my pants and cause me to fly as little as possible now.
I like the #9
That wing flex made the wing look like it was made of rubber.
Looks like star wars
✈🚀
I was in Hawaii when my Brother got married that day. I live in Sacramento as the same storms flooded surrounding areas.
The landings good video 🛫🛰✈🛩👨✈️
SUPER - SHOW !
Camera type?
Captain Steven Markovich JVC gy hm 750 but the lens... it is equivalent to a 1600 mm telephoto lens on a 35mm camera.

sixnohit it’s not the Pacific, it’s the Bay.
Nick Akers It’s still the Pacific Ocean.
sixnohit It’s literally not.
Back in the day when we actually had storms in the Bay. RIP Bay Area storms.

IT'S WINDY!!
That’s a lotta wingflex, damn
Why is this an ad?

Passengers had eyeballs switch sockets!
Every plane I screamed

wcolby, where did you setup to take these shots, the Millbrae BART parking garage?
Exactly! a quick note... normally I’m on the fifth floor but when it’s raining you need to be on the fourth floor.
Why are they landing crosswind? They have north south runways. Land directly into the wind and takeoff crosswind.
Aer lingus are probably used to it with the weather we get in Ireland😂
Would have hated to see how bad the EDCT times were into SFO that day!
#13 was buttered
You are correct 13 didn't deserve to be in there, I was just impressed how well he held rudder inches off the ground.
I know I was just sayin, the skill in that crosswind is great, but even better than it was a smooth touchdown
3:49 Philippine 🇵🇭 airlines still landed smoothly 👌
If I had to choose the worst as far as bouncing around it would be #3..
Did I just see a helicopter land? Lol, they look suspended in the air right at the beginning, that’s insane
Lux197live gotta love some windsheer

Wow! How did you get these views at SFO?
Fourth floor of the BART parking garage at Millbrae, but you better bring a telephoto lens...
@@wcolby awesome thanks. How much zoom did this camera have if you dont mind me asking?
@@henrybayha1063 it’s a broadcast camera and the numbers don’t relate but it ball parks at about 600 to 800 mm lens.
