I’m really close to giving up on mines , I can’t get the vocals like I want and now I’m coming to the realization that it might be me and not the daws or plugins , worst realization I’ll ever have in life , because this is what I wish I could do for the rest of my life
You're actually advised to use multiple equalizers just like when you use multiple compressors (compressing in series), the main thing is to make sure you dont take away the life from your vocals and you're good, you did it great.
@@rmrealmusic7 Buying presets is not advisable, let me give you reasons why, Ive been mixing for 6 years and I can tell you that mixing vocals is split into 2 parts, - DYNAMICS - EFFECTS Dynamics deals with Equalizers, compressors, multiband compressors, pretty much anything that affects the dynamic rage of vocals, - THIS IS DIFFERENT FOR EVERYONE - NO 2 HUMAN BEINGS SHARE THE EXACT SAME EQ SETTINGS - iN PHYSICS ITS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE FOR 2 HUMAN TO REPRODUCE THE EXACT SAME SOUNDS (WAVEFORMS)
@Rmrealmusic if you get the preset adjust the dynamic settinsg, equalizer, compressor, C6, De-Esser etc As for EFFECTS These are prettey much delay, reverb, heavy distortion, flanger, phaser etc you can keep this the same but keep in mind that reverb and delay are different for all songs because its according to bpm of the beat.
@@suxgegaming it can still be helpful to use vocal presets but never use them how they are bought you always wanna mess with the EQs compressors and effects otherwise it just wont be a good mix for your voice.
The Multiband Compression is such sauce. I was stuck with mixing vocals; then I slapped Ableton's Stock Multiband Compressor on my chain and it fixed everything!
just tried this and the result are night and day with my mixes so thanks! I’ve found the best vocal production tricks through Nick Mavromatis though. his video on vocal production literally open my mind.
I like the thing you'r ìe not trying to act like a pro mix engineer but i think there are some issues in this chain. I think you rolled off too much low end and the vocals sounds a little bit thin at the end of the chain, already mid video the vocals doesn,t have any warmth and armonics. i know it's important to bring high-mid frequencies to make the vocal cut through the mix but i think you can do it also with saturation and another step of compression (my advice is to use multiple compressors working on different things). Then i advice you to put the effects on a send channel, because the position of the plugin on the chain effects your sound in a different way. in this case you add the delay and after that the reverb, if you do this the reverb will affect your voice with the delay on. if you send your effects to an aux track they will work in parallel with the dry vocals avoiding clashing and giving to you a more clear sound. they are advices, if you want you can try this to improve your vocals. Have a good one!!
FL Studio has many multiband compressors, watch some tutorials. C6 is a multiband compressor, it acts an equalizer but compresses each band to your desired style. Let me give you an example, equalizers cut out frequencies completely or boost them, a multiband on the other hand gives the frequencies a range, sop it tells the frequencies to not pass a certain point.

It‘s so nice that you use your own way of mixing instead of copying what all the others most likely would do
It’s better when you do it by yourself!!
