- We all know Kevin, Bob, Stuart, and maybe even Dave, but is it possible to figure out the name of ALL THE MINIONS that appear in every piece of Despicable Me media? From the movies to the shorts to the comics and even commercials, it's my job to name each one of these little yellow SOBs.

I've never actually watched most of the minions movies so to me there's always only been 7 minions: Dave, Carl, Jerry, Kevin, Stuart, Bob and Mel

0:17 Fun fact, in this scene where they leave with Dru, the minions are all actually wearing the same kind of spy suit that Dru has. You can notice the texture if you look close enough, and the golden wristband details that Mel has when he waves.
I would say that the Bob in the DM2 credits-scene was just the Bob from Minions with a different design. He even has the same heterochromia. It’s kind of like how Gru’s CGI model changed from the first film to the second.
That’s just cuz he was no longer as despicable
I just assumed that Bob was him grown, as despicable me 2 takes place after minions and with bob being extremely small there, it would make sense for him to grow larger

I swear,when I was at Universal Studios Orlando to ride Minion Mayhem as a child,they played that video (or a similar video) in the queue while waiting. So it could be official,but that was 8 years ago,so idk.

My “Grown Up Otto theory” has been confirmed? In the 2024 Minions Olympics series, we see a minion that is lifting weights, and he looks exactly like Otto, minus the hair and braces. So, my theory is correct, but Otto just shaved his hair instead of growing more.
25:10 as far as I remember gru and dru's parents were divorced and each kept one kid, so it's possible the mother's last name was gru while the father's was dru meaning each kid probably got a different last name. At least I think so.

@renz1013 Illumination uses a list of names and give them to minions, whether it's a different body, hairstyle, eye color.
Billy, John, Ken, Tom, Josh, Mel and Jeff appeared in Who's who.
Mel, Tim and Dave reappeared in the recent movie.
Josh, Ken and Chris reappeared in Mooned.
Dave, Carl, Paul and Mike all get mentioned in the beginning of the Minions movie.
Robert, Carl and Dave returned in the short movie Midnight Mission.
Phil returned in Minions Paradise.
Tony appeared in Benny's Birthday.

Actually the Bob at the End of Despicable Me 2 is still technically Bob from the Minions movie, its just it was still in development so the reason he looks different is cuz this was basically his Beta design before they made his final model we see in the movie
19:03 These minions are mostly likely named (left to right) Felipe, David, and Glenn. This is in reference to the actual members of the village people, Felipe Rose, David Hodo, and Glenn Hughes
It’s very nice to see some of these Minions names became canon, mainly Benny because on the DM4 release there’s a short called Benny’s Birthday which features Benny and a few new minions in a 2nd Tony, Hal, and Will.
I still gotta check that short out, that rules though

I think Kevin is the main minion, as he's kind of the smartest out of the trio, kevin, stuart and bob. And he's also a main character in most of the movies

If I had a nickel for every UA-cam video about Minion names that I've watched, I'd have 2 nickels.
If you go to the 2nd despicable me movie and skip to exactly 19:38, you can see Auto on the bottom right, he's still there.
Minions in Depsicable Me 4:
"Bruce" was a name seen on Gru's phone in the sky broadband commercial of this new movie.
"Gus" is a minion with a new hairstyle and he is going to be the flying Mega Minion.
"Jeremy" is a name that can be heard in the second trailer of Despicable Me 4 when the Laser-eyed Mega Minion (Mel) heats up his cup of coffee which goes through the earth.
Ralph is a minion that stayed behind with Ron and Phil.
Fred is a name heard in a Kings Hawaiian commercial (The minion holding the hamburger buns.)
In the Minions 2015 book "Dracula's last birthday" a minion called "Chuck" is ordered to make fruit punch with Norbert.
Benny has a birthday coming in the new mini movie of Despicable me 4, the same short also features
Will, Hal and a second Tony whose a plump minion.
Ted and Clint were named from that time Gru appeared on Ellen.

1. The redesign is only perceived by us. The characters in the franchise see Bob the same way.
2. Bob got fat and a little older as time went by.
Seems like a lot of mental gymnastics to me!

Hey, fun little theory I have on where the minion duplicates come from. In some concept art for Despicable me 2, by Eric Guillon, the guy who designed the minions, it shows Dr. Nefarion putting some eggs in a machine which hatch into minions.
My theory is that the chicken minion laid more eggs somehow, and the rest of the minions maybe came from that?
Now this is truly a yellow pilled minion opinion. 10/10 theory.

no actually Otto is not dead. he made a cameo at the end of Despicable Me 4 with Dru. maybe the reason that he is not in originals films is because Ilumination made Despicable Me 1 years ago and in the mid 2010's Otto did exist except in the Minion Official Game App
