- Rebuilding the top end of my 400EX that I got for trail riding/ hare scrambles. I will show setting the cam timing and setting the valve lash in another video.

The very large main jet is some of your piston melting problem I recommend a 155 main and a 40 pilot
If I have a 440 and a 195 main and a 60 copilot, is that a good combo?
Wats stock the size piston for 400ex
Cam chain tensioner should have came out to get chain loose.

The thick washer, head bolts, as well as the dark plated nut goes to the front of the head. It looked like you put it to the left side.

It’s been awhile. I can’t remember exactly. It wasn’t much. Still got room to work with in the future. Picked up a parts engine this winter, too.
What happened to your other 400ex? The one with all the cooling mods

Bro, HOW TF did that wrist pin come out so easily? My piston doesn’t look nearly as bad as yours and my shit won’t come off :/ My piston could spin back and forth freely but that pin will NOT budge. I heated it up, tried the clamp, nothing.
It’s been a couple years since I rebuilt this engine. I don’t remember any problems with it. I’m surprised a clamp wouldn’t budge it. That sucks. Hopefully you can figure something out to get the pin out.
I got the piston off by cutting through it lol, but the wrist pin, is literally still stuck in the rod lol. I’ve tried everything I can. I have no idea how to change the shaft, so I’ll either me taking it to a shop to replace or tossing it out lol. We will see! Thanks for the response
