Love your videos. Thank you for teaching us all you know.
Jeff, Nice update...I just started my tank and UA-cam channel. I love the list and it will help me choose my Corals!!!!
Love your videos keep looking at The same ones over and over again always looking for a new one thank you
Great top 10. I have been loving the podcast as well. Keeps my mind busy in the truck. Keep up the good work brother.
Thanks. I need to get back on track with the podcast. Very busy time of year.
Love this list, I learned about a few that I hadn't heard of yet! 😁
Not just for beginners. Soft corals offer lots of movement. Great for tanks with low mantience needs. I have shifted back to softies and some lps. Don't really have time for extensive mantience or dosing regiments. Plus softies can be great for reefers on a budget
I was talking when someone not that long ago about finding the right reef tank to meet their lifestyle. Which is a very smart not do talked about subject. Thanks for sharing!
Mad Hatter's Reef might be a good subject for a video
Joseph Pettit been reefing for 5 years now and I do certainly agree LPS & Soft corals are way more manageable especially as a working adult
Thanks for the video. I am just getting in the hobby. My 75 gallon reef aquarium is just 2 months in so these videos are great for me. Look forward to seeing many more.
Glad to help. Make sure you hit the bell to stay up to date on all my videos. Happy Reefing.
Great list!
Thanks for stopping by!
Inappropriate Reefer you both are my favorite reefers

hi jeff could you tell me what salt i should use or best for a soft coral frag tank ......... GREAT VIDEO ONCE AGAIN
Subbed last week, pounded the bell today!
thanks for joining the Bell Squad 🔔🤛🏻
Great video brother
Thanks!
Welcome
I would also add the pipe organ coral. Love this coral. Also a gateway coral IMO since it lays down a calcium based structure but is still a softy.
I love pipe organ corals and no one ever has them
Thank you for the video this will help me out a lot I started about 6 weeks ago in the hobby with fish and I would love to have corals in me tank I have a 38 gallon but I'm going to get a 75 gallon soon
Thanks for watching. I have talked with a lot of hobbyist of the years and there has been one constant theme when asked “what does it take to keep a successful reef tank?” And the answer is patients 99% of the time. Good luck and be patient.
Thanks for the vid. One thing I'd like to see is if you are going to feature videos, include real clips from tanks.... gives a better idea what/how they are placed,lighting,etc.... keep it up. Subbed
Exactly that is what I said
Great suggestions Jeff. Hope the "issue"' with the DOS wasn't bad. Sticks-Sticks-Sticks only here! LOL. You hear about the nano challenge on Rico's Reeftank channel? YOU might be called out 😳
Without giving too much away it was a boneheaded move on my part. I’m not scared. I’ll take this Nano reef tank challenge to the streets...
I'll take that give away of the false african blue Xena. hell I'd buy a frag if ur still offering... Great list....
New sub
Thanks!
Oh dang was I supposed to start fish only? 🙊 lol good list of softies I have a bunch of these just different colors.
I’ve always liked the palys but I’m afraid to keep them because im not good with keeping my hands out of my eyes haha
I have a beautiful Vargas cespitularia. I thought they were different from the Xenia. They’re in the xenidaae family but lower into the classification I think they differ
Yeah!
Yeah!
Why you did not put the name of the corals on the screen????
😎☝🏻
He said the names??
he wrote it too:
10: Pom Pom xenia
9: Superman mushroom
8: Blue clove polys
7: Grandis Palys
6: Green Finger leather
5: Ricordera
4: Green toadstool leather
3: Blue Xenia
2: Zoanthids
1: Rhodactis mushroom
Thanks
I have been looking at toadstool and they a are wavy. I have not seen one you tube of a flat top one. I am wanting to place an order and hope it is wavy as it grows
Mine is pretty wavy. Love it. I’ll be fragging it at some point.
I've been in the hobby for over a decade and to this day soft corals are my favorite. I love a lush tank that doesn't require micromanagement and softies offer me that lmao
my dream... is to grow a beard that thick one day xD great vid, i agree on all your picks. new sub!
Good luck! Thanks for watching!
I collected 7 out of your list searching for the rest of 3

Greetings!
Hello, just found your UA-cam channel and have Subscribed. I have Blue Clove Polys and red Mushrooms taking over the tank. I'd like some suggestions on how to harvest Cloves off the glass, I'm thinking of using razor blade and then rubber band to a frag stone? I know its nearly impossible to get a Mushroom off a rock, but I assume getting them out of the sand bed isn't to hard. Suggestions on how get them out of the rocks. Thanks!
Question, i have a blue cespitularia, and in the same tank i have a xenia. The xenia is doing beyond amazing, growing, thriving, open and pulsing. Meanwhile since my cespitularia was introduced, i have yet to see it open or extend its branches. It seems dormant. What do i do to get the cespitularia to open up? Shouldnt the same parameters for the xenia be working? Ive followed all care instructions for the cespitularia, it just doesnt seem to be taking. What should i do?
I recently just picked some up again. I haven’t had any since my first reef tank. It did really well under T5/Metal halide hybrid lighting. Currently I’m using LED and it seems to be doing just ok. What do you have for lights?
@@MadHattersReef i use LED's, honestly i dont have a lot of knowledge of lighting, i bought what was recommended to me, its a fairly small tank, but its also a pretty small coral frag and has more than enough space. It sits around a foot or so under the light, and it gets very good light coverage, but it shouldnt be too much, as a zoa only a couple inches lower is thriving Its a blue and white spectrum, unsure of the exact specs. Very small amount of shaded areas in the tank, do you think it could be too much light? The xenia is positioned very similarly, but the xenia is also larger. Maybe the cespitularia requires a bit less light than the xenia?
@@glap8694 which light is it and what is the par reading at the coral?
#4 - my toadstool is massive. It's huge. So much so that it is actually blocking light from other coral that are well established into the rock and I can't move it. The toadstool is pretty much attached itself to the huge main rock that takes up most of the tank. What do I do??? It won't stop growing! I have no experience in fragging and I'm worried I would kill it as well....
Mark Ruddy take it to your LFS for credit and get a smaller one - or get a bigger tank
Nic Atala is we had any serious lfs that do reefs I would. A bigger tank is always my wife’s suggestion:)
What kind of marine fish tank salt do you highly recommend to use for a beginner
Reef crystals
First time entering
Good luck 🍀
Is pulsing xinea coral good option for beginners?
It depends. Some people literally can't kill them even when they want to, for others, the coral is tricky. It's a weird one.
New at this hobby quickly becoming a reefer.
As Melevs Reef would say... “Welcome to the dark side, we have cookies.”
Whoooo!
What?
If you look at Crazy Freddy's Reefs that's all I have is saltwater soft corals I think a tank of those makes everything look up thousand times better
Can you do a top ten corals for beginners??
He just did
The first coral I kept was a morph second was a acan and so on
What happens when something out grows a spot and you have to frag it but you don’t have anywhere to put it ?
I like this but the list should have been video not pictures beacuse you cant see it good moving or in the water, I still give you a like
Joss joooon
other than half the list being toxic or evasive growers, pretty good.
That same could be said about the comments on my videos
Only toxic if your a idiot
I want a Pompom pink Xenia but I can't find it anywhere and I have no reefer friends :-(
i think all these blue lights arent showing our tanks off as well as a whiter spectrum
That purple light shines off your nose hahaha..... just started on coral what have I done........
Bro gud pm.bro how to win led light. Im ur fan im from philippines. Do u have free led or 2nd hand led. I will buy it for budget meal bro. Advance merry xmas bro godbless and make more videos. Thanks.
^ you win the internet
Is zoanthilds hard to keep
No
I love soft corals but in my opinion they are not beginner corals at all in fact they are harder to keep than acro’s in my opinion at least in my tank I always have problems with pulsing Xenia to
I’m having problems with clove polyps. They won’t open for nothing 🤔 I finally mastered keeping xenia from melting away & now I have got to figure out clove polyps 😅
@@theurbanartist775 I finally figured it out! Make sure your not using the black box type lights, as soon as I switched to the kessil Ap9x and recycled my tank they were able to flourish
Im trying to enter the raffle. How?

Frogspawn is a LPS coral

Interesting thought. That may happen.
Did anyone else end up with a soft coral big tank then in a second tank their first Coral ever was a hardy sps?
Not a lot of variety of color and growth patterns?!? huh?
I like wen you said the Corel contain Toxins and he said it’s dangerous to humans dogs kids lol are kids not humans
