thank you for the video, it helped me understand how to navigate through the car to get to the headlights. I bought the D5S headlight bulbs you showed but unfortunately my sister-in-law's 2020 Chevrolet Equinox uses 9012 Headlight Bulbs (HIR2)
So I'm in the opposite situation. All the store websites tell me to buy the 9012 or D3S, but when I opened my wife's car up up, I needed these D5S as well. 2020 Equinox LT. Chevy must hade made a running change somewhere in there.
Yeah tell me about it pisses me off to high heaven!!!! I own 2018 and cant get an infants hands down there to change bulbs its so freaking ridiculously tight. I will be removing the air filter as shown in video but not just the bracket as the video shows it provides ZERO addt room if you remove battery bracket (watch video) instead I will be taking the entire battery out to get my paws on that bulb and I am not sure even then It will be enough room for my lil man sized smokies. Btw, there is a small tight as hell clip that you have to pull upwards on and unplug the connector from the light bulb that is also tough to do! They make it so freaking difficult so we have to take it to mechanic or dealership and be charged $$$$$ high up the wazoo! Bullshite muslim!
@miketyler7616 hids tend to degrade in brightness overtime. Its just you haven't noticed it because you were used to it. You can upgrade your hids to the 35w. The 25w gives you the same brightness as the 35w, but the 25w will degrade its brightness faster compared to the 35w. 25w can only cap up to 2000 lumens according to philips. 35w can cap up to 3200 lumens but will anyway give you the same brightness as the 25w because hids in projectors can max at 2000 lumens. If you want to change the headlights to the OEM 25w, you can. You will notice a difference in brightness as the old one is dimmer and the new one is brighter. But if you plan to drive at night for more than an hour, upgrade it to the 35w because the 25w loses its 2000 lumen threshold overtime. @miketyler7616 hids lose their intensity in brightness overtime. You just haven't noticed it. However for 25w, it will lose brightness much faster because it barely hits the 2000 lumen threshold. You can replace the headlights with new OEM 25W, and see a noticeable difference between the old and the new. Or you can upgrade the headlights to 35W to retain the same, if not, better brightness compared to the 25W.
Wtf seriously go back look at the battery bracket you instructed to remove ok that bracket is not in the way of your hand changing that side (drivers side) of the bulb. Its the same exact space (hardly any space at all) as if you leave it on. Look at the video. I own 2018 equinox and that entire lame ass placement of a battery has got to be removed for anyones hands to get down there and change the bulb unless your 10 years old your hands will do anything in that tight spot. But the need to show is taking off that bracket is useless cause it provides no additional room to do anything. Thanks anyways!

My 2022 equinox lt doesn't have these HID bulbs. I think they're halogen but I can't get them out. Can you do a video on that?

How long before they get dimmer?. We have a 2018 with the original HID
They are 25w, so they get dim until a year or 3000 miles, to be exact.
@SeanAlegator It says they use 25 watts of power. Because they are original being a 2018, maybe they dimmed over time, and I just haven't noticed?
