Welcome back to Friday Night Lore! As we prepare for the first Friday Night Magic of Eldritch Moon.. enjoy some lore that adds substance and a giveaway to the game we all love!
This week we conclude the Eldritch Moon story line with the Promised End. Emrakul is barreling down on Innistrad and the Gatewatch.. it's up to our heroes and their new ally, Liliana Vess, to prevail.
Emrakul lets loose a chaotic force which renders most of the Gatewatch incapacitated. Liliana Vess is doing her best to hold of the Titans monsters while Jace searches for answers within the inner sanctum of his own mind.
While in his mind.. Jace Beleren meets an unlikely figure.. the angelic form of Emrakul herself.
How will the Gatewatch battle against a foe this powerful? Will Innistrad survive?

This story was super sweet. I liked it a lot and showed a lot of our gate watches weaknesses and everything. Also shows us Emrakul has a personality and a conscious and tells us a lot about her
I really like Emeria as a character. The description and dread I felt while reading was awesome.
There is just something about the Eldrazi that I love, the raw power of the titans I just love it.

well this arc is pretty much "how many lovecraft references can we cram into it" and i mean that as a great thing

Anyone else think that Tamiyo and Narset would get on really well?
haha I think the writers would exploit that expectation: so that when their paths meet, they'll end up hating each other and the fan-dom will say 'wow that was surprising'; similar to how Jace and Tamiyo first had tensions, when it was presumed they would be good friends (well I presumed it)
Uh..Imagine playing chess with Angel/Cthulhu, winning and response being, "They were always my pieces. I'm just tired of playing." I am Krul, you are Krul, Emrakul. . I Dunno current mythos but I hope they have more Eldrazi, as Icould imagine so many ways for the storyline to go cosmic the gathering: Last Eldarzi. Then make it appear as laughing Budha!
I believe Emrakul is exactly where She wants to be. All the pieces are hers.

The moon of Innistrad has powerful magic to it, and whoever understands the moon can predict the patterns of the living... So just imagine what you can do when you control the moon.

I like how it shows a little bit of the planeswalkers past and were they come from

I realized when listening to this that the card Contingency plan shows Jace looking at the other part of himself. I thought that was a really cool thing he did and made me apriciate Jace even more. I also love the flavor text: "Improvisation is for those who failed to prepare."-Jace Beleren

I love that Emrakul's reflection in jace's mind was actually very polite it was a twist I really did not expect when reading this story, also didn't Jace figure out that it was not actually emrakul but his mind's perception of her as it tried to make sense of the static of Emrakul's chaos and the Emra Angel said that talking to the true aspect of Emrakul is like trying to speak to a fundamental force in the universe like asking a wave a question?
I took some time to think about this. What was Emrakul saying?
For her first interaction with Jace, it was likely her primal desire, perhaps as an eldrazi, to be everything.
A similar thing is reflected in dream Nissa’s dialogue. If all else must die, so be it. Perhaps her comments on growth could mean she is a force for evolution, throwing life at a wall and seeing what sticks. During this dialogue, she indicates that she doesn’t want to win. Perhaps wondering why they won’t accept her “gifts”.
The second time, she uses a different form, likely a proxy she used to communicate without annihilating Jace’s mind. In her first answer, I think she was commenting on how all were once one, and while her purpose may be to have all become one again, she may have accepted that this is now past history. In her second answer, She comments on how her gifts are refused, possibly by Innistrad itself. It may also be possible that she is no longer content with her role. Maybe she wanted to contemplate her purpose or something to that effect before Nahiri dragged her here. It could also mean that the world and/or the multiverse as a whole aren’t ready for her yet, or simply that she doesn’t wish to inflict her powers upon them.
These are some of the things I have attempted to glean from her dialogue. If you have any other ideas, please share them with me.

He'll probably be there for 1000 years and then go to get revenge on Nahiri by bringing Marit Lage or something else to Zendikar thus continuing the cycle.
Yeah, he'll probably be there for a long time, turn partly to stone, then get's awakened by Bolas and decides to finally become full-pledged Dracula on everyone's asses.

it would be interesting if the titans which represent the larger form of the eldrazi were capable of making representatives of themselves from their prisons and those forms were the figures like the emrakul angel which the people worshipped.

That's kinda sad, poor Emakrul. What was she thinking? She was sad because she was called there out of her time and the land didn't "want" to die? Or because she lost her titan Brothers? What even.
Matheus Morais she wanted to create...but was created to destroy.
How do you find this all out? Are there books, or comics, or something?

It's pretty cool to see Erebos in this- I wonder if this is a sign of a confrontation to come in a future set, maybe Gideon finally takes on the Gods of Theros... I'd rather like to Heliod get her just desserts.
