  • We are filling a 3 meter high cavity dummy with cellular foam concrete.
Foam concrete is an extremely useful tool in the equipment of a modern construction project manager, and MAI® porous lightweight concrete production systems are used in a wide range of building and tunnelling projects around the world.
MAI® International GmbH has been at the forefront of developing foam concrete production systems over the past few decades, and is an expert when it comes to cellular foam concrete equipment.
Our goal is to improve and facilitate the production of environmentally friendly PLC (porous lightweight concrete) materials for construction above and below ground. High-quality foam concrete requires little CO² and energy to produce, making it a very ecologically-friendly option.
Professional foam concrete systems for every jobsite
Foam concrete is an easily-workable, low-density building material that is very economical. Foamed concrete is self-compacting, free flowing and pumpable and, therefore, easy to place in inaccessible places. It has good thermal and acoustic properties and is also frost resistant.
Cellular foam concrete can be produced in a variety of densities and strengths depending on the application required.
Foam concrete has many significant benefits due to its high air content (up to 90%), making the material ideal for filling voids in underground engineering works, trench reinstatement and tunnel repair. It is also particularly useful for its insulating properties making it perfect for thermal and soundproofing insulation of floors and flat roofs.
Other areas where porous lightweight concrete is very useful are cavity filling, well backfilling, masonry grouting, setting up pipeline monolithic thermal insulation, monolithic low-rise and individual house building, levelling floors, road sub-bases and maintenance, bridge abutments and repairs, and ground stabilisation.
MAI® has developed a range of porous lightweight foamed concrete production equipment that enables customised foam concrete for every application at the touch of a button. The user-friendly interface makes the production of lightweight foamed concrete simple, with the highest levels of quality control and easy combination of units to achieve the desired results for your project.
The compact PLC equipment developed by MAI® consists of an internally cross-linked processing system that works continuously and can be operated as intuitively as a smartphone. The dry mortar compound is mixed and a foam of exactly defined consistency and density is produced. All individual components are under permanent monitoring to ensure process reliability. MAI® foam concrete equipment is already in use in Japan and Europe.
    MAI® foam concrete production systems
It is important to find the best lightweight foam concrete production system to maximise performance on your building project.
Take a look at the extensive range of equipment for fully automated production of lightweight concrete available from MAI®.
Talk to MAI® about the latest technology in lightweight foam concrete production systems. Our team of experts is happy to explain why cellular foam concrete should be part of your construction project plan.

I thought you couldn't fill too deep without the bubbles at the bottom collapsing from the weight above. That you had to pause to let some set happen then before you got a cold joint pour the next level?
How are you avoiding that issue? Better foam agent?

@@bobjoatmon1993 better foaming agent and size of the bubbles inside the concrete and even distribution of bubbles within the concrete. It is very difficult to achieve stable foam concrete without collapsing.

@@parthakumar4359 you still didn't say WHAT the better foaming agent IS.
I'm pouring 4 foot wide by 18 foot tall wall sections and I have to mix two 55 gallon drums if foamcrete, lift to the top and pour in. Then wait an hour for it to start stiffening and then pour in two more batches, repeating until I reach the top. It takes all day to do a section and I am trying to find the SPECIFIC PRODUCT to make stronger foam so I can do deeper pours and finish this project sooner.
      I guess you don't know.

@@bobjoatmon1993 you need to find the right foaming agent in your country. For foamconcrete what you need is a foaming agent/ dispenser that creates strong bubbles and maintains them inside the cement, sand, water mix. The mixer also should be of compulsory type so that foam mixes easily and blades help shear the cement and increase strength. I guess you haven't researched well on the foam concrete.

      Dear sirs,
we assume you are talking about the achievable compressive strength of the final product and the density that can be produced?
That value of the compressive strength depends on the material used (mortar, foaming agent, additives) and of course on the density as well.
So far we have produced densities between 3 lb/ft³ and 57 lb/ft³. For the physical properties of the final product please get in touch with the raw material supplier (mortar and foaming agent) that you want to work with.
