TOURNAMENT 7 : Mike's Place - St. Augustine, FL Fishing

- Tournament #7! After a few months break, we finally got a group together for another tournament. Same group of guys with a few new participants this time. The group voted on Usina Boat ramp (AKA Mike's Place) down in Vilano Beach, FL. as the location. Also, instead of the usual "Slam" format, we decided to only target redfish. Any and all sizes - Catch, Photo, Release. Everyone took photos of their redfish and at the end, we added up everyones' total and whoever had the longest combined length was the CHAMPION! Hope everyone enjoys the video!

How did you like fishing out of Mike's Place?? Surprised there was not snook caught.
Thanks Mark! Def got several nice fish dinners coming soon lol! Mike’s place is a pretty decent area just a little far. Also if I could help it, I would avoid on weekends, especially during the warmer/hot months. Just WAY too much boat traffic and unfortunately have to cross the ICW to get to the good fishing areas. And not a single snook lol

That’s cool and I totally understand. Just interested in learning some new places to fish and fishing with a group seems safer than just exploring on my own. Looks like a good group of guys.

Road bikes. Already found a nice used Trek for my wife off marketplace. Also found one for my self off marketplace but yet to pick it up, in st Augustine. I had a Jamis previously and just loved. So had to find something almost identical. Def not buying new lol

Hey, I have 18ft stick steer aluminum boat. Can I fish in your tournaments?
Unfortunately we’ve narrowed down to kayaks only. Kayaks with trolling motor is ok. If that changes in the future, I’ll let you know
Why don't you fish the redfish series?

@VISUAL-LY yes, two longest reds within the slot limit wins $2,000. I won the one here in jax back in March with 52". The next one is in st augustine but you can still fish in jax. Florida redfish series. Lures only.

@VISUAL-LY if you are on good fish and feel confident you can win some $$ I'd say go for it now! The st augustine tournament is right around the corner. You just need to order the correct measuring board, token, and token holder asap.

@@williamsmith5329 No, 2nd creek was better for me. But one of the top 2 finishing guys hammered the reds in the first creek, big ones.
