I am interested to install it in our utility van. How can I connect it if the door has no electrical supply available? And how would the switch will work?
just buy any led drl that has fixed pattern (i.e no flashing)and follow the same wiring tutorial. If you want both red and white, you can buy 12v led strip both color and join them with soldering..cover it with such case and youre good to go
Do these led's get hot or the wiring gets hot and melted because I once used a led strip in my trunk and connected it to the trunk bulb socket but after a few days the led strip connector got melted.
leds do not generate enough heat to melt anything. If it does it usually means a fault led or connection. This is usually due to low quality led which in all honesty do not differ to regular leds in term of price. Make sure you do research and most importantly do not trust brands that have 5* reviews or reviews that seem like theyre scripted. Also word of mouth use other sights. cough reddit cough. ya 2 years later
So I have a Ford Fiesta MK7 2010 and don`t have a light bulb on the door and I didn`t want to modify the cars original circuit by adding any consumer. The only place where anything lights up when I open any door is the roof light and I was wondering if I can connect the led strips to the roof light. Basically, changing the regular light with 2 led strips
Good video, the LED lights turned out great... I would like you to make another video but it's normally slow, it's so fast that the procedure doesn't look good, thanks!!
Without a door light this is very difficult to do. Yes you can do it , but it’s not worth 2+ hours to do , because you would have to do that for all four doors
The video shows two install methods: one with a light and one without. Method B shown at 1:01 shows how you would install without lights by detaching the door panel and the panels by the seat to splice the wires underneath from there rather than the light. Definitely a longer process than method A with a light.
@@mr.k5687 I’m not sure what you mean door button. The entire door panel would need to be removed and you would have to splice the existing wires to power the lights. I would think you need at a minimum: a crimper tool (to cut the wire casing without cutting the actual wires so you can connect them), the connectors (like butt connectors and/or other connections to keep the wires together and not expose wires that may cause a fire), and maybe additional wires or extensions if the wires on the lights aren’t long enough. The connection itself is something that would need to be looked at more in detail because you would want the right size for connections based on wires and making sure you got the positive and negative right (the order you connect/disconnect and definitely should disconnect car battery before working on these wires especially the positive or typically red wire). That’s what I remember connecting my backup camera and stereo. There’s also tools that help remove interior panels which makes the process a bit easier, but getting the wires through the doors to reach the existing wires in the car floor is probably still going to be a pain unless you can just connect the wires to a stereo if there’s one in the front and rear doors or if they have anything that’s powered
How to connect to the Audi A4 B6 if there is no built-in light under the door?

can these lights be installed without all the flashing ie just static when door is open ?

a question at the back door In the switch the cable is black earth color right, then I have to look for an extended cable current ???
Can you leave the bulb in bottom of door panel and just hook the positive/negative directly to the bulb itself

It's a felony in the USA having RED, and Blue color at the same time.

Pretty good video, but descriptions could be a little more precise.
This light is best very bright
Would be better if they didn't flash and stayed a solid color. People would still see you. For that reason I won't but one.
You could have non flashing ones... just buy any generic led strips, attach with 3m, and splice wires the same way you would here.
I agree, more distracting when flashing, and annoying to the driver and passenger.
