I'm 60 and in my home office I have kept a Hohner Melodica 26 from my childhood which I never could play. Today I had another look at it and found your channel and played my first melody.

I just bought your book through amazon today. I don't see any Xmas songs on the list. Will you have a Xmas song books out soon? Thanks for your very nice work🌻
thank you so much for these video lessons! they've been helping a lot!
I have a question though, there's one key on my melodica that can't play a soft note. (it still plays but only when I put extra effort on breathing) the other keys work just fine so I don't know if this is a key I need to tune or if it's something else?
It's when the reed tongue is slightly too far from the reed plate. This can be adjusted by 'gapping'. Google gapping, there's info on this. Also, a discussion on melodicaworld.com.
What is the green button on the right top used for?
The button is the moisture release valve. After a bit of playing, condensation collects inside the melodica. You then press the button, and blow firmly several times, to expel any excess moisture from inside.
I have a question.
I'm a beginner, I'm hoping to become a player that can play with a short breathing tube while holding the melodica (different finger technique). As it is now I don't have a long breathing tube yet.
Should I practice with a long breathing tube with the melodica on the table, or should I keep practicing with a short breathing tube while holding the melodica? (Since I feel like holding is harder to learn)
Keep practicing with the short tube if you know that’s your end goal 😊
@@MelodicaWorld thank you
What is the name of the intro song?
Btw great vídeo ❤
I think it's a tune he made himself?I stand to be corrected though
Yes, I made this myself! My day job is writing music for TV, so it was fun to make some music for my own video for once!
@@MelodicaWorld i would love to learn that tune ❤
Should I be using any tonguing for articulation?
Sure! Just on the repeated notes
@@MelodicaWorld Thank you. Does any of these video lessons go over the difference between playing notes normally and playing them legato?
@@fuckbored4724 no, but you can experiment with this yourself, see what sound you like, try variations and changing it up
how do i transcript songs into melodica notes?
If you can find the sheet music for the song you’ll be able to play it on the melodica if it has the same note range (doesn’t go too high or low for your melodica). Or instead, slow down the song on UA-cam and work out which notes are being played by ear. Pause when you hear a new nite, and match it on your melodica. It takes practice but you get faster the more you do it
Hi, I am a 76 yo anemic woman experiencing shortness of breath. Is there a breathing method that will allow me to play well? Thank you for the instructive videos. Kamsahapnida!
I’d suggest breathing naturally, taking breaths whenever you need to. Let yourself get carried away with the music, and your lungs will be gently exercised. As they get stronger you may find an increase in capacity
sir, how can we learn to play the keys quick, now since we are beginners, we play slow, but more experienced people can play it quick with only a glance at the music notes, they learn quick. do we need to study the keys for that?
Speed comes with time and experience. Concentrate on accuracy and staying relaxed - the speed will come gradually
@@MelodicaWorld thank you sir
My expectation for the last note in section 3 is either an E or a D, but then it showed up on the screen and it's a C, lol...
4:20 Serbian national anthem coming...
BOZE PRAVDE TI STO SPASE
OD PROPASTI DOSAD NAS
I was in Belgrade this year!
Oh really? I’d want to go and run the Belgrade Half Marathon once, I’m from Greece but I love Yugoslavia so much to the point that I have learnt Serbian on my own.
i played all day that song until my family kicked me out
Lol
this dude has a really interesting accent, i just cant place it.
It's from London!
You sound exactly like Jon Ronson, the british author and journalist.
