Measure Installed Posts to Build a Fence using Fence Genius

This video goes over various measuring techniques using the Fence Genius software and technology. The primary focus is measuring installed posts, but the video does touch on the Lidar iOS app as well as some installation benefits that help offset the approximate 1-minute per panel location measuring time investment. Basically, the time you take to measure can offset the time you take to install including removing the need for such tasks as establishing the fence top contour using string lines while increasing the speed of the post-cutoff heights.

How do you cut the 2x4's when they go up a hill like that? If there's a topcap, how do you measure the angles for the trim? TYTY

Link to tools would be a good addition. The measuring stick you used looked like a useful tool but I couldn't find it online.

Hi Dave. Thanks for watching our video. Yeah, I probably go into too many tertiary aspects in the video and for that I apologize. Bottom line: 1) Establish a level line. 2) Reach down and measure distance apart and record. 3) Measure level line down to the lowest potential for wood and record. 4) Measure level line up and record. 5) Measure angle IF needed. We do this frequently and about a minute per panel invested in measuring brings many benefits with software and that time is offset with saved time on the install process. Thanks for watching.
