Yeah sometimes if they don’t take to it you can soften it and smear it over some lettuce. Just a great supplement to ensure they are getting nutrients and hydration
My two cents i stick to feeding all my animals a natural diet (crocodilians turtles tortoises lizards dogs etc. I don't believe in feeding animals pellets, it's to deep a subject to get into right here. Just keep in mind dog food companies have been lying about their ingredients for years. So I wouldn't put it past any one to lie about what's in their food that's why I stick to a natural diet for my animals. Anyway as always great video can't wait for the next one.
I just think it is crazy that Mazuri Tortoise food smells straight up like dehydrated potatoes. Like so good I wouldn't mind tasting it. I mean I did (including other turtle foods) lol! Great Video!
One possible problem I can see is that you are giving the Forest/Tropical mix to Sulcatas. They should be getting the LS (low starch) blend for grass eaters. The Forest/Tropical mix isn't going to be bad for them, but the LS variety is better matched to their natural diet.
I sometimes give my tortoises the pellets that I give my horse as a treat, but I always wet it down to insure moisture. I live East of Phoenix North of Apache Junction
This is a pretty easy one! I’m assuming they love lettuce right? So what you should do is soak the mazuri until it is soft and then smear it in parts of the lettuce. Do this little by little until the lettuce is mostly covered in mazuri. And then by that point they will love it. Maybe 2 weeks or so
The misinformation and fear around mazuri is absolutely wild in them fb groups.
Totally agree the fb groups are out of their minds.
My two sulcatas are 6 years old, they are completely feed with mazuri 100% they don’t have any pyramidism or any desease

Yeah I’m not super sure about horse pellets but honestly if it’s only a little I’m sure it’s fine ;)
