Fun Fact: Brian Trenchard-Smith had a rejected pitch for Leprechaun in the White House that would have been a political comedy.

I question how someone looks at any possible Leprechaun pitch and goes "Nah, that's not up to our standards, come back with something better". Like, do they not know what movie series this is?
I would legitimately pay to see that.

This really does feel like a staff meeting between script writers that havent been outside for several years. They peek through the blinders and try to guess what it would be like to set a feature in the hood. But no matter as long as Warwick Davis is having fun im in.

Yeah, I'm ironically wrapping up my coverage that I've been doing every March for the last...3 years.
Gonna be weird when next March comes and I seemingly don't have anything that could fit that theme. Unless I go with the Women's history Month and make that a "theme", which...I could and likely will do with February as Black History Month.
There's another Lepercuan movie kinda sorta. A horror movie. Supposed to be a remake.... It sucks.

There was another one entirely unrelated from 2012 called Red Clover, which seems...weird
While Leprechaun 3 is a fan favorite to many, The Leprechaun in The Hood movie is preferably my favorite out of the bunch.
It's also my favorite leprechaun film. The three leads are very likable and Ice T is a great secondary villain
I don't know man. LEPRECHAUN :Back 2 Da Hood is my favorite but, it was also my first Leprechaun movie.

@@slasherdope8065 It has some jokes that are also informative, Warwick Davis is 3'6" and the leprechaun says as much in Back 2 the Hood when he's trying to flirt with that one lady on the phone, then she hangs up on him when he notes his height

2. If a horror franchise runs long enough it'll go to space, the hood or both!

This looks bonkers, but fun. Someone should have told the writers that a hypnotic flute is a satyr's tool, not a leprechauns'😉. I'm glad Warwick Davis was obviously still enjoying himself here.

I have to wonder how a horror franchise survives by getting consistently worse. Then I remember that’s EVERY horror franchise…
While I know Prometheus and Alien Covenants are controversial, but none of them are worst than Alien Resurrection so there’s that.
@@oliviawilliams6204 I really liked both those films. Especially Covenant. They have problems, especially Prometheus, but they have a lot that's great, too.

The rap in this movie sounds like itd be a decade old at the time the movie was made.
It was. All "My name is x, and I'm here to say..." style raps went out of style in the 80's.

Just like to share a story that makes Ice-T's appearance in this that much clearer. My buddy ran into him in a park in north Jersey and he, IceT, had a sweet sports car and my bud asked him just how much it cost and his response:" money is tacky"
Another homie of mine actually ran into him as well once in RedBank. He got a selfie with him and as he left he straight slapped the 💩 out of his chest and said :"be easy baby" ,or something to that effect 😂 A solid dude indeed 👍💯
This was just some stoned movie executive saying "Hey, limericks are like rapping!" and nobody had the guts to tell him that was insulting to two cultures at once.

Whatever the creators were smoking, I want it. If they release the strain onto the market, I'm there! That scene with the dude in drag, talking the Laprechaun's voice and in rhyme in this movie, was amazing! The things that have been created in this world.
Found the DVD in a bargain bin (€2) years ago - loved it then, love it now. GREAT!

I remember watching this with a few friends on discord one night, my friend just about lost it when Ice-T pulled the bat out of his afro. This whole movie and it's sequel are real trips.
At least it has Davis as the Leprechaun. That's a plus.
And I'm immediately disappointed I have to wait a year for Back 2 tha' Hood. Great review, but man, another year of...*gestures vaguely* all this to get to it?!

Leprechaun 3 and leprechaun in the hood are probably my favorite out of the series don't get me wrong this series has moments but these two really stick out the most

@@blakedavis1852 oh, if you’re looking for something that actually delivers on telling the Amityville story, then none are good. If you want really fun bad films, then the films from 3 to Dollhouse are for you. If you’re looking for a dark crazy supernatural film that delivers, Amityville II and the remake are solid enough. The original film is more of a film to have fun riffing on with how it tries to take the really dumb stuff in it dead serious.

The 911 Lonestar clip was the best thing about this Leprechaun movie. That and the Asian stereotype guy dancing.
I have no idea what this 911 Lonestar show is like but I'm just gonna assume it's just like The Outer Limits but without the sci-fi element.
Yeah eventually a lot of people find their way to the hood. Maybe they took inspiration from Jason Takes Manhattan.
This was the first Leprechaun movie I ever saw as a kid back then, followed by In Space. I never questioned how he always gets into these wacky situations and places as a kid but thinking about it now as an adult, I started losing sleep because of it lmao

If they tried to make this nowadays, It'd be nostalgic fueled unironic B movie parody schlock that everybody loves.
There was a sequel not recently that goes back only to the original film and it was actually great schlocky with over the top gore.
I've noticed that some of these scenes I saw in the movie Colors. Yep that might be the reason why we see Ice-T.

So the Leprechaun was defeated four leaf clover weed and rappers in drag... Far out!
Trespass is one that goes under most people's radar. Great cast and decent enough for what amounts to a treasure hunt in the middle of a city. Also Mean Guns, which had no budget, but I actually enjoyed.
Technically the rappers didn’t beat him seeing how Lep brainwashed him and became his manager in the end

im biracial my moms an irish immigrant and my dad is a third generation immigrant from Jamacia...when this movie came out my babysitter rented it as a surprise for myself and my younger siblings (4,8,11)...she legitimately thought it would be a great way for her a white sociology major to have "interesting and advancing dialogue" about being mixed race in america...ive never experienced a more well meaning/painfully confused gesture since.

IMDB calls "Leprechaun: Back 2 tha Hood" "Leprechaun 7," so absolutely I give up on this title numbering system. I'll give Brad the benefit of the doubt as far as knowing the difference between trailers. However, he definitely didn't know the difference between massaging a bun and massaging a bunion. I guess he just didn't have one of those grandmas.
And yeah, Steven Seagal SHOULD have been in this movie. Speaking of which, everyone should go check out Redeye Reviews' set of vids on Seagal.
