  • Bought a bike with a locked engine (as usual) but this one turned out to be an easy fix. Nice looking bike.

    You're a decent bloke with offering him some money back, not too many like you left 👏.

    I liked you before this video but now after seeing and hearing you say that since the problem was not major you were going to offer the previous owner more money or a discount on buying it back just speaks volumes on the kind of person you are and the world needs more people like that instead of the way it is now keep up the good work rooster

    I was the owner of that bike. I got put through the ringer with that bike, trying to get it in almost perfect condition. 😒 I just had to move on. Super nice and honest guy!!

    Awesome video. Earned my sub! Only food for thought is maybe invest in a cheap harbor freight impact screw driver for those stubborn bolts!

    Learned so much in this vid. Love the way you take time and explain how things work. Like cross hatching the cylinder. Thanks for sharing.

    Put the tube inside the tire first. Next valve stem nut. Then start mounting it on the rim.
    Works super easy at least on KTM rims that don't have the holes opposite each other.
    Also get a bead buddy and curved irons for mounting!

      Thanks, I’ll try that. Just worried about pinching the tube

      I’ve seen them break for sure so this one was close. A lot more damage when they break.

    Hey. Love your videos. A miss when don't have any videos. 😅 but glad you had nice bit time. I have a problem with my yamaha dt125r bike cuts out or looses power a thort it was stator or pick-up and changed it and still is doing it 🤔 it's had me puzzled a thort was cdi also and changed and still same seems like an electrical issue a think. Would you no anything a can try to identify the issue I am having as bike loses power and stalls low engine gearing and hight and at different speeds 😮 got me puzzled in am in UK and no one seems to know anything blaming the cdi and stator break dwn 😢

      How long does it take before it starts doing it? Try cracking the gas cap loose and riding it. If the vent in the gas cap is blocked, it will fuel starve as the tank goes into a vacuum.

      Hi sum times with in few minutes but mostly 25...35 minutes

    • @restoroosterohv
      @restoroosterohv  20 днів тому +1

      @carlkennedy2499 like I said, try to release the pressure in the fuel tank to see if that fixes it. You could potentially have a bad ignition coil that is failing when it gets hot.

    I think every bike brand should use a similiar bolt locking system for TDC on the crank than the KTM engines do.

    Zip tires for tires, you’ll never use spoons again

  • @Yazeem04
    @Yazeem04 20 днів тому +2

    And for the cam chain when do you think is best to replace them like on a time period

    • @restoroosterohv
      @restoroosterohv  20 днів тому +1

      Hard to say, depends on amount of time and type of riding. If you are always on the limiter, engine rebuilds will be more frequent and the chain will be replaced at that time. If you ride more like me, easy going and never hit the limiter, maybe 30 hours a year riding, every 2-3 years I would replace the chain and tensioner.

  • @teuvodogg

    Who ever rode that bike on the road has never made a turn with it judging by the front tire.

    • @restoroosterohv
      @restoroosterohv  20 днів тому +1

      This type of wear is generally from riding wheelies. The front wheel will stop spinning and when the front wheel comes back down, it grinds the center of the rubber out. This is what you see most commonly with street ridden dirt bikes.

    Please use a brake bleeder hose. DOD corrodes everything…😖

    • @restoroosterohv
      @restoroosterohv  20 днів тому

      It’s difficult to use a brake bleeder hose while trying to show air coming out of the bleeder to the camera. I clean everything with brake clean after I’m done as well.

    You didn’t answer my email but I saw what you did on those front brakes. Mine are still soft even after tapping the line while bleeding. I still hope you choose to email me back, I’m quite stuck

    • @teuvodogg
      @teuvodogg 20 днів тому

      Use a ziptie to apply pressure on the brakes / lock up your front brake lever and leave it over night.

    • @MrJmattr3
      @MrJmattr3 20 днів тому

      Push fluid from bleeder up to master cylinder.. I use a 1” syringe with short rubber hose.

      I apologize. When did you send it? I don’t see any correspondence from you. You may have seal issues in the caliper. The square cut seals will pull the pistons back in slightly. If you can’t get it to have a solid feel, you may have to rebuild your caliper. I would still try and get a cheap vacuum bleeder from Harbor Freight because the front brakes can be miserable sometimes.
