Just a little hint I have adopted when it comes to working on bikes long ago, always bring several electrical lines through the fairings one time. You can always hook them up to a switched power unit by the battery in the future. If you don’t use them, they’re really not in the way. Saves the effort of having to take the bike apart over and over again.
Mario, anytime you want to come out and help me put these plastic covers back on my 2017, 1290 SA after routine maintenance. There is a whole lot of bourbon in your future. I can take them off but putting them back on is a puzzle. Puzzles are not easy for a Dyslexic with A.D.D. LOL You are an expert on it. I have to watch your videos every time i work on my KTM to the puzzle apart. i do all the maintenance i can even if it is short of the recommend time frame. Just because taking those covers off suck. Now i have to add the new GPS to my wish list. good video as always
Firstly, thanks for an amazing video. Question- I am wiring my Garmin Zumo XT2 and want to connect it to Acc2 for switched power. The previous owner has the Cyclops front turn signal power connected to Acc2 power. 1. Can I have both the Garmin and turn signal power connected to the Acc2 power source.? 2. Can I connect turn signal power to Acc1 and have it not drain my battery? I guess if I can't do either of these two, I am stuck with a constant power through Acc1 for the Garmin? Thank you Mario
just as an FYI...that ACC2 should only be used on items that draw less than 2A. There is no Fuse for ACC2...it runs through the ECU and it is digitally fused. You should be using ACC2 to power a relay and then use ACC1 to power the unit through the load side of the relay. This is how KTM designed these circuits to be used. This way, if something goes wrong you are either replacing a relay or fuse, not replacing a burned up ECU. Just my 0.02.
@@2WR Its good to know that it comes with an inline fuse. I guess thats what the block is in that harness. My memory tells me its 2A but then again, my memory isn't the best (haha) I still would use a relay. Safest option and if anything fails, ACC1 is fused right under the seat with the other circuits. Most guys set up fuse blocks with the relay so you can run other stuff (fog lights, grip warmers, ect)
Craig, I've had a chance to try it out a few times. Should be a review video in the coming weeks. It does have some updated features out 590s don't have.
I recently upgraded from a 78SC to the Zumo XT on my 2013 F6B Wing. Love it!
Even more helpful! No need to remove the tank. Appreciate it.
Enjoy! I've had my XT for two years and love it

Not a bad idea. In this case, would've still had to take everything apart of get the old unit out.

That is a fantastic GPS. If I needed one that would be the one.
Perfect, pick my XT up today.
New XT, I think a road trip is in the works🤔 nice install 👍🏽
Quite possibly...

Thought it was 1A. The Garmin pulls .75A and has an inline fuse.

These are always helpful tips... Keep it up 👍🏻 especially if you ride the same type of motorcycle 😉
Thanks man, appreciated
Hi, I have a superduke 1290 gt 2017. I have a question.
Will navigation turn off when the key is turned off? When you connect the electricity.
With the way I connected it, yes
@@2WR thank you, nice video
Anyone here know if the 1090r has that Accessory 2 Switched connection in a similar spot?
Great vid...Thanks for posting!
Sure does
Informative as always - thanks!
What features does the new XT have vs the 590LM that incentivized your upgrade? I have the same 590LM…

Cool - I’ll keep a look out for it. Thanks!
Did you swap your original Cyclops headlamp kit out at some point?
Same Cyclops kit I’ve always had in it.
how do you like that Zumo XT ?
the device itself I like but as a Mac user...video coming later this summer 😠
