- This is a scene from the 1997 movie "Mortal Kombat: Annihilation".
It is the scene where Cyrax intrudes the SpecOps facility, where Jax got his cybernetic arms, and confronts Jax and Sonya.

I originally brought this clip to UA-cam, because I really wanted to see this one scene again, and I could not find it anywhere, and reckoned it might be the same for others. Looking at the sheer amount of views this video has amassed over time, I guess I was correct.

This movie Fucking blows.. Jax fights one guy and leaves Sonya to fight a gang of murderous henchmen and he couldn't even win his fight...she blew sand on him? What in the fuck. This movie is absolute garbage.

It's a pretty corny movie but it's entertaining. Not the worst movie ever made. There were worse ones like Batman and Robin or Super Mario Brothers.

I don’t care about whether this movie is bad or good. It was awesome in my childhood. I could watch it over and over again, especially because my mom looked exactly like Sonya in this movie. I loved everything about it - the music, the fight scenes and the fact that they had so many characters from MK in it and managed to include even original fatalities.

I love this Jax. You almost miss all the shit talk, like when Cyrax misses the kick and he's like "Nope." Reminds me of the game, where he can grab you if you're too close and will yell, "Gotcha!"

Smoke, Cyrax, and Jax are the best parts of this movie. Look damn good, sound good, and Jax's banter is probably the highlight of the movie.

this film basically sums up the memories of my childhood. Looking back at this, yes I can see the crappy faults they added but man, this film and especially the first MK are the ones that will always stick with me for a long time :)

This is my favorite scene too! As compared to the first movie, it was nice to see Sonya with some skills.
love the movie no matter what people say about it.
I think one of the reasons why people say it's bad is because of the inconsistencies with the source material, they got a lot of things about the characters wrong and inaccurate, not to mention certain characters died before we got to see them in action such as Rain for example.
I know some were only mentioned or very brief. But I am not sure if there really was much back story to the movie version of the characters.
I'm with you I fail to see what's wrong with it. Now if they want to complain about the fact that in the soundtrack "two telephone calls and an air raid" was completely different from the movie and they never released the right version. (Not to mention a piece of crap compared the this version.) Then we talk about it.
sheeva should have had more time and a betetr fight scene, the guy who played shao khan was weak, lambert should have been raiden, kitana was bad in this movie, not so much looped footage used. total CG motaro.
I agree, I get there were some flaws but I don't think its anywhere near as bad as some people make it sound. It might've been somewhat rushed in spots but I thought it was pretty cool getting to see more characters in action than what the first movie showed us.

Because this movie had the budget of a school play. Check out Rain's and Ermac's costumes in other fight scenes, that's what they look like: school play costumes.
Even the CGI was so fucked up, the first time I saw Liu Kang transforming into a dragon, I thought that dragon was a stop-motion model! That's how bad it was!

pepOnshow Yeah, the movie is bad but they did include Cyrax's net, Sonyas Kiss Of Death fatality (in a way), and later in movie Liu Kang does animality, and we even get a (sort of) explanation for it too. So atleast they tried to stick to the original source material.

If Hollywood does decide to make another one, it should be rated R. That way we could get most of the brutal fatalities. A rated R Mortal Kombat movie would be true to the source material.
Wow. Took me close to 10 years to notice that the immolation was a homage to Sonya's fatality. This was also my favorite fight from annihilation, great song imo. Jax was badass, Sonya was sexy, Cyrax used to look Gnarly (now he looks a little cheesy but nostalgia still holds a place in my heart).
I don't think any sound track can beat the "Awesomeness" of Mortal Kombat theme. xD

I admit that the movie was bad. It was still going off the hype of the first MK movie and thought that by adding more characters and "effects" it would be able to top the first one. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case.
That being said, I remember when this movie first came out. I was a child, and I wasn't able to see it in theaters, but when it was released on video my mom ordered it on pay-per-view for me and i watched it. This movie, for how cheesy it is, is a blast from my past and I actually love it.
This happens to also be my favorite scene in the movie.
Sorry not sorry, I still think the 2 mortal kombat movies of the 1990's are fucking amazing.

As bad as the second Mortal Kombat movie might be, you have to give it credit that it also featured all those "classic C-Rank" characters, in terms of their popularity. Like I mean, EVERYBODY instantly thinks of Scorpion and Sub Zero when they hear "Mortal Kombat" but then also featuring a ton of these in the "second row" characters, so to say, like Cyrax, Smoke, Sindell etc. etc., that was something I appreciate this move for and it's one of its very few good qualities.

When I first watch this movie, i loved 2:14... Cyrax does an awesome flip to dodge the table, the music gets hyped & Cyrax starts showing he's a badass... yea in the end he ends up dying, but this part will always stand out to me.
