In today's video, I am sharing 12 watercolors I discovered in 2023 which swept me off my feet! 😍 I was fortunate enough to sample many watercolours throughout the year, and choosing this list was a difficult task, but I got there in the end...my apologies to some gorgeous colours I may have left out, but if I included them all, the video would have been several hours long! 😂
I chose a laid-back, playful way to swatch these colours for you, I hope you enjoy the process as much as I enjoyed creating the video! 💖

I love Bob Ross! Used to watch him every weekend as a kid, and now I watch his old replays on UA-cam, may he rest easy. He’s part of the trinity of wholesomeness along with Mr. Rogers and Steve Irwin.

I love this idea for swatching your favorite watercolors of 2023 Lily! Although your circles are so relaxing to watch, this is a little extra fun! The Indigo tree is my fav. Blessings for a lovely 2024 with many wonderful videos to come! P.S. Bob Ross was my favorite when I was a teenager! I feel like he totally inspired us for what would be our future UA-cam! He showed us how to do it. :)

i like this tree idea. i do formal swatches with 3 layer mono chrome paintings but this sounds very fun. the deep deep light paints look lovely, i don't see an availability for the states sadly. i did watch bob a bit, he was just, too , fast for me. i also love indigo, i use it in place of place of blacks many times. loving this and that you are having fun. isn't that what painting is all about?

Could you tell me the measurement of your Temu sketchbook. Are you happy with quality from them? Have you used any of their other art supplies?

Thank you so much for your kind words!❤️ The sketchbook size is A5 and so far the only supplies I have tried from Temu are these sketchbooks and an A4 Baohong watercolor pad, and both have been excellent quality. Unfortunately, I have no first-hand knowledge of their other art supplies, like paints and brushes for example. I do hope this information helps! 🥰

I love this idea. Question: What did you use to create the trees? Pen and ink? Watercolor? I would love to see your process for setting up your swatching pages....especially the antique looking frames. ❤
Hello! For the tree stumps I used my micron pen, size 005, and the light neutral wash to add a smidgen of shadow is Vandyke brown ☺️ I do have a video showing my way of making the templates, you can watch it here: ua-cam.com/video/hRc26ygHWHg/v-deo.html
