- This is the second installment of video for my outdoor living space area. In this Video I build a modern bench which attaches to a concrete wall and surrounds an outdoor fire pit. This project involves metal working and wood working combined for a fun DIY project. If you would like to see the outdoor fire pit build, I will attach the link at the end of this video. SHALOHA

Kudos for the nice 45 degree angle where benches meet!
The real hero is the form setter that set that wall!
Thanks VernBigDaddy, …. I’ve never been called a hero before 😜
Top job.👍🏼
Thank you 🙏🤙
That Festool domino 🤤... The wood inserted into the ends of the aluminum square tube was brilliant! Awesome job!
Thanks GreedisaWMD, every now and then I get a good idea😜. 🙏🤙
what is the dimension for your seatwall, looks great
Amazing job!
This video is absolutely incredible and an absolute shame that it only has 9,886 views at this point. This is a 1 MILLION + VIEW QUALITY VIDEO! Keep it up, my man! :)
Thanks for the encouragement. 🤙 I hope to get there one day;)
@@ShalohaCreations my pleasure. I know how much time/editing went into this video. I'm signed in from another account but I also have a channel and understand the grind! :)
Best channel I've found in a long time.
Dude! Thanks 🙏. I’ll try to keep the videos coming 🤙
I love how you did some of Frank Howarth video editing
Love watching Franks videos.. but I don’t have the patience he does with technology;)
good job good concept good video my friend, i want one in my back yard too
Thanks.. if you get a wild hair and decide to build one, here is the site I used. I have no affiliation but found them to be a great resource 🤙www.brickwoodovens.com/instructions
All love
🙏😁
Great job !
Well done 👍
🙏🙏🤙
Looks fantastic!
Ipe?
Thank You 🙏🤙
@@ShalohaCreations is that ipe wood?
Not Ipe.. but it’s is an exotic similar to mahogany I think. It’s used for decks and supposed to hold up in weather. Was recommended by my wood supplier. I can’t remember at the moment what it’s called . I’ll have to look it up. 👍
@@ShalohaCreations sepele maybe? Looks freaking great brother! Love the concrete work too!
Hello Sir,
Its such a nice work. Im planning doing one for my back yard too. Don’t you mind letting me know some dimensions? How tall the retaining wall is? How tall from the ground to the wood bench? And how wide the bench wood is? I appreciate it.
Thanks you🙏 .. The wall is 8” thick solid concrete 32” high. The top of the bench is at 21” off the ground but could be put a couple inches lower if needed. The width of my bench is 13.5” but I think if I did it over I would add a couple inches in width. The support brackets are space 2 feet apart. Hope this helps 🤙
@@ShalohaCreations Thank you so much. Its very helpful.
@@ShalohaCreations Did you also install the retaining wall? I'd be interested in seeing how you did that if you did.
Yes I built the wall, but unfortunately I didn’t film that. I dug a footing with rebar and then did 2x12 forms on the outside. I’m sure there are plenty of UA-cam’s out there with how tops on that 🤙
What kind of metal tubing is that? I’m currently pouring a concrete wall and need to figure out the bench support part.
That is 2 1/2” x 2 1/2” aluminum square tubing 1/4” wall thickness ..I think I used 2 x 3 angle also 1/4” 🤙
@@ShalohaCreations Brilliant, thanks - what’s your spacing between supports? 500mm, how deep are your benches? - did you resin the studs into the wall?
@@joolzb17471 24 inches on center between supports. The studs /anchors were put in place when I poured the wall 👍
@@ShalohaCreations Thank you - mine is made from concrete block so the studs will need to go in - did you use M12 or M16 threaded studs?
@@joolzb17471 I used 5/8” but I think 1/2” would have been fine.🤙
What did you use to treat the wood with? Great video
Thank You.. I used a product called arbor.. but when I go to redo it I will probably use a product called Penofin. I feel like it penetrates the wood a little better.👍
Great video work!!
Thank you 🙏🤙
What was the coating that you applied to the lumber?
It was a penetrating oil made by Arbor, but when I go to do it again I’m going to use Penofin because I feel it works a little better. 👍
what wood did you use?
It’s called “Kavu” it’s used for decks and other outdoor features.👍
That finish is so red, that it looked like rusty square tube iron in the thumbnail. Had to click on the video to see what it really was.
That red is mostly from the wood. It’s called Kayu, a sustainable hard wood. Has the feel of mahogany.
2:12 😂 storage flex
Haha.. “Let me just go over here and grab this out of my sliding wall cabinet full of toys” 😜
DOOD!
🤙🤙😁
Legit
🙏😁🤙
Woodglut is nice for that.
Great looking bench, but Please dont ever dance again......ever🙄
Hahaha.. I’m definitely not a dancer.. but I can’t make any promises 😜
