Oh my, this was such a beautiful powerful performance. I was so moved, touched and very emotional as I watched. Beyond the flesh, I felt this in my SOU------------------------------------L. What a Blessing to touch so many with great words and such powerful music. Thank you Dianne Reeves, Thank you. The Heavens are smiling down on you!!!
I had the privilege of seeing Ms. Reeves and her band, at the PDX Jazz Festival, in Portland, in February 2016. I have been waiting some 20 years to see her. Any superlatives I would use here to describe her performance then, would fall woefully short. Comparisons to Ella are inevitable. That said, I love the Latin influence in her muse. If anything, her voice has gotten richer with age. Like a fine single malt, her talents are to be savored with all the senses. I dearly hope it won't be another 20 before I experience her talents & joy of performance again. Peace.
