I've been to Slovenia in October 2019. It's a marvellous country, fantastic landscapes, very friendly people and excellent food. And BTW, it's also very clean, no matter where you go. I just loved it...
Only ever been to Slovenia in the winter. I learnt to ski in Kranska Gora in 1976 when it was still Yugoslavia. I took my son there in 1999 and 2000 when he was 3 and 4 because Slovenia was one of the few places they would take 3 year olds in ski school. Lovely country and lovely people, oh and fantastic value for money. Really looking forward to seeing the rest of this video
Absolutely loved it Sir, I have been to Slovenia few times and loved it. We Rode there in 2016 and stayed in Lake Bled. I agree with you, found it clean and friendly. This is one of my favourite countries. Thanks for sharing. 👍👍👍
Welcome to our beautiful country. Hopefully you enjoyed every kilometer here. Looking forward for next vlogs, especially from western part of Slovenia.
Looking out the window at 2 inches of fresh snow as I watch this. Rolling hills green grass blue sky...little jealous I must admit. Thanks for letting me live vicariously through your camera lens
Canadian here, with Slovenian Parents. Picked up my first motorcycle a few years ago and since then I've had riding through Slovenian and into the Alps as a Bucket List Goal. I'm very much looking forward to this series!
I've been there couple of times as a kid since we were part of the same country and my old man was working there for a few years. You remember the old Yugoslavia... Slovenia was always just like Lithuania was in USSR, posh country and they mostly escaped the horrid war that followed. It's on my list to ride there, visit the place where my dad worked on a castle reconstruction, Slovenj Gradec. Beautiful place... Cheers!
Was in Slovenia 2 years back with some other chaps from Hertfordshire, had a lovely trip. Got the bikes on a train from Düsseldorf to Austria, then Slovenia, Croatia, Italy and back to Germany. - what to do this year,!? 👍😎
Can't say I know much if anything about Slovenia either. Interesting vid with regard to geography, culture, architecture & of course the roads! Looks great, a real undiscovered treasure.
It's interesting to see someone else ride the roads I know by heart. I live very close to Brestanica and have ridden most of the roads in Slovenia. I hope you have/had a wonderful time in Slovenia!
Brits are spoiled for choice when touring. Living on an island (albeit the largest island on the planet) I have a long and expensive flight to anywhere. I would never have imagined that Slovenia was so beautiful. Thanks TMF for this great vid.
I love your touring vlogs more than anything else on the channel TMF - and this one has the promise of being another classic. Did a trip from Sofia (Bulgaria) to Volos (Greece) in 2018 and the friendliness, cleanliness and sheer stunning scenery was amazing... The food and expecially the beers were dirt cheap and varied... Looking forward to the next episode
Well done sir very interesting as always ....stayed in lake Bled late 80s on a ski holiday , beautiful country and scenery to match the more popular ski country's.... Vogel was immense ....almost like a lunar landscape up top .....would be great to bike it ....so now I'm jealous 👌
Slovenian landscape is amazing, their roads and villages in the hills and mountains are heaven to ride. I live not so far from Slo border, in Pula, Croatia. You should do a tour along Adriatic coast down to Tara Canyon.
Of course, I watched these vlogs at the time. But today I have just booked for June 2022 and so watching again (and will no doubt do so numerous times over the coming months!). Joy has been super helpful and I cannot wait to go on this tour. 😀
1st visit last year. Loved it. Returning this year and continuing down to the Adriatic highway to Dubrovnik and Kotor. Can't wait. It is currently an undiscovered gem.
Make sure you take your insurance green card with you as Montenegro is not in the EU. Waited at the border crossing for an hour in 35 degree heat while everyone had to go and buy insurance at a little office next to crossing ,although only cost 10 euros for bike.
Hello from S-LOVE-nia! This is the best moto channel and I'm a big fan. I'm so sorry I missed the oportunity to shake your hand and meet you in person. That Saturday in Podčetrtek, where you were drinking coffee, my wife and I just stoped for coffee at the near table. I was looking at you and tought to my self that it can't be you. Than my wife asked if that guy there looked a lot like the motorcyclist I follow on UA-cam. I replied to her that this was impossible because if she thinks of the same guy, that one is a celebrity and wouldn't choose our back roads to fancy Spanish destinations :)
Beautiful looking country :).was 1st to break away from old Yugoslavia and it's where Akrapovic exhausts come from, that is my total knowledge of Slovenia!

Finally a new tour! Slovenia is a lovely country (close to mine and with somewhat similar language) and I've actually been riding through it just a few months ago when I was taking my EU trucker's exam. Obviously, I've only ridden to and from Ljubljana but I took the scenic route through the country rather than the motorway and I loved it. Looking forward to seeing more of Slovenia, even if only on my computer screen (for now haha). I definitely plan to take a nice, extensive tour of Slovenia as soon as I'm setup there (to work for a Slovenian trucking company). Btw, the way you pronounce Ljubljana is hilarious! lol :D

Lovely that you've made it to the country of my ancestors. Some people have called Slovenia the "little jewel of Europe" as it has a lot of Europe's climatic zones in a small area. From the alpine North to the Mediterranean South (yes, the Adriatic sea is part of the Mediterranean), the Austrian influenced North to the Venetian South, you can travel through a wide variety of nature within a single day. Yugoslavia by the way, was not part of the Eastern bloc or behind the Iron Curtain. It was indeed a founding member of the Non-Aligned Movement (together with India) which represented 120 countries and 55% of the world's population. People were able to travel freely to and form there and tourism from Western Europe was a big source of income back in the 80s already (a big draw were the many nudist beaches and hotel resorts). You were correct with the pronunciation of "č" which is indeed pronounced like "tch". Hope you've got to see some of the most famous landmarks such as the Triglav mountains, lake Bled, the Soča valley, the Postojna caves, and the ancient Venetian city of Koper.
Have ridden with Momo and Peter in the Canaries, nice guys.... they like to ride fast!! . Will look into going over there with Canary motorcycle tours. Did you go to the Akro factory? Peter works next door to them.
I had been thinking that it reminded me of parts of Switzerland an there you go, you said the same thing. And southern Poland, Krakow and down towards the Tatras mountains area is very similar with it being so close to where you are. .... Now there's a nice idea for a TMF tour series.
Such a cool trip. Thanks for the video! For the first minute or two, I could hear some clicking noises from the camera. No problem there, but had to laugh at myself - For a minute I thought I was having some sort of neurological issue...

Did you go to the Akro factory? Peter works next door to them.

Lake Bled is a stunning location.
Stay tuned for my visit to Bled!
